"We are very concerned about the issues raised in this review. We have no record of these events. On May 16, 2014 Mr. (removed member name) notified us not to make any further deliveries. He did not receive any deliveries after that request. The last delivery made was February 6, 2014. We also show no record of an oil spill. Any further information that can be provided would be appreciated."

They're very good. They've been excellent. The price of the heating oil right now is high, but that's for every company. They come out immediately, 24/7, so I've been very pleased with them.

from the beginning service was great from the phone to in person. no pressure they do not harass. very smooth process. everytime i need oil they come asap which is something i notice some of the other major companies don't offer. so far everything has been great, just referred my brother so now i' waiting for my reward. they r always available 24 hours its great. my only issue is that for the annual tune up ive been waiting for several weeks. i guess they r pretty busy but that's ok cuz my boiler hasn't broken down. but it would have been nice if they had a more freed schedule for those scheduled maint. but overall great. one last gripe is that some companies offer a type of discount on oil if u sign up for let's say ur first year. i don't think they offer that here though.

The last call was for water coming out of the release valve of the boiler. A serviceman was at our house within a few hours of placing the call and the problem was fixed within a half hour at no cost due to the annual contract we have with them.

When my prior company left me with an empty tank, Skaggs came the day I called, filled the tank and checked the boiler.  Since then they have been filling the tank on a regular basis.  The customer service is wonderful  I had some questions about the bills and the people I spoke with were very helpful.

I ended up using skaggs walsh by default, as I recently purchased my home and the previous owner never cancelled her contract. They delivered oil according to her automatic plan without me knowing until I received a delivery receipt. I decided it was easier to sign on with them than go through the hassle of them removing the oil. Once I did contract with them they did give me the first delivery at a reduced price due to the mistake.
I had an initial annual inspection done in early december even though I started with them in late october due to hurricane sandy.
Boiler was working fine until after tune-up. The firebox was in very poor shape and needed to be replaced. After all soot and debris had been cleaned out during tune-up, boiler constantly needed to be manually reset. I replaced the combustion chamber liner myself once I knew how much the repair would be through company and that it was not covered under my contract. Due to my boiler experience for the NYC Dept of Ed it wasn't a tough job. But once I did that the flame needed to be adjusted again.
Everytime except once did I receive prompt, timely response. The only issue I had was calling once on a Sunday evening around 730pm and being told the serviceman would be there  "shortly" which ended up being almost 3 and 1/2 hours later, which by that time I fell asleep and didn't hear the doorbell.
On 12/26 I called again and the serviceman was the nicest so far. I told him I was having trouble since December 23rd but felt bad calling on xmas eve and day. He told me please call anytime for any problems. He left after making adjustments and changing a part and actually came back a few minutes later to check my thermostat as the part he changed doesn't work with certain thermostats and he wanted to be sure I didn't have that particular model.
So far the boiler has worked perfectly, hopefully all the kinks are worked out and this is the last time I have to call them for awhile.

Skaggs-Walsh is not a bad company. Their service is very good. I just think they are way over priced.
If I was sticking with oil, I might continue with their service. You probably could find a cheaper price but not sure if the service will be as good. I here stories about them all.

Very annoying experience. I called in the morning and reported a boiler that was not working. I was asked for my address, and told that they could have somebody by later in the day to look at it. When I called back several hours later to check on the status the person who took the call initially had no idea who I was, and wanted my account information (I do not have an account). On further discussion, it emerged that they service only oil-fired equipment, not gas-fired equipment, and apparently they are not accustomed to receiving calls from prospective new customers, just existing accounts. They may do wonderful work at great prices, I really don't know. I just know that whomever answered their phone this morning provided incredibly unhelpful and misleading information.

Greetings I've been a Skaggs-Walsh oil company for a very long time. They have always been on time with the delivery's and prompt when service is needed. I use a fuel oil budget payment plan, I pay $317 a month ($3804 per year). Here is the problem. This week 3/2/11 to be exact I received a call from the oil company stating due to the cold winter and price of fuel your payments will go up to almost $400 a month. And also stated that payment prices are subject to change. For the life of me I can't find that clause any were. I'm not saying I will not pay my bill but the reason for budget plans is to make things little easier, and this will hurt. So three more things. This company took over my old company (Phoenix) many years ago so you can say this company has been heating my home for 46 years. I think this is a terrible way to run a business and I think a little illegal too. It will be shame leaving this company and would highly recommend that you look else were for a oil company.

They were the most professional throughout of all the companies I spoke with: did a very detailed proposal/quote, were very neat doing their work (and our basement is full of stuff, mostly books--no damage or issues) & have great customer service. The only issue we have had so far was that after about a month the ductwork connecting the boiler to the chimney fell down. They repaired it promptly under the service contract (same day). The financing agreement we signed with them was also very fair. The fuel contract has also worked well. All in all, we are pleased with the experience so far.
