We had a provider tell us there was a leak on our roof and ceramic tiles needed to be replaced. I looked in the Angie's List magazine and decided to called Jason from Dunright Chimney & Stove. He came out right away and inspected the chimney and roof and gave us an estimate. He said there was nothing wrong with our roof and that it was perfect but that there was a leak in our chimney. He said it was flat on top and should have been slanted so the water would run down and not sit there. The chute that goes from our heater through the chimney was deteriorated and they put in a new one in for us and repaired the chimney so it was slanted. They were very courteous, they found the problem immediately and repaired it quick. They cleaned up after themselves so well you would never know they were here. I would recommend them to anybody. They had a reasonable price and worked fast.

my furnace stopped working due to blocked chimney. the crew came in about two hours after the call. Quickly identified the problem, and fixed it right away. Definitely A+++ service

All went well, the crew got the job done quickly and cleaned up things well enough that you would not of known they were there. All of my questions were answered until I truly understood how to operate the stove.

Dunrite came promptly and repaired leaks in our roof around the chimney.  They also discovered major flaws in that section of the roof which was over the garage.   They did a major roofing job as well as repairing masonry and flashing work on the chimney as well as adding new plywood in the garage. Their attention to detail was evident when they went in search of new roofing shingles to match the existing shingles throughout the entire roof.  Staff was professional and efficient and did a great job in removing the debris.    We have used Dunrite over the years to clean our chimney as well as  installing a new glass fireplace which they did last year.   They continue to provide excellent service.

Everything was great. I called mid-week and explained we would be closing on a house on Friday. They scheduled me for Saturday to do a "double sweep". They arrived in the specified time window, came in, did the job and were out within an hour.

I was able to have someone come the same day that I called.  The person who came was prompt and did an excellent job.  He even painted a piece of my fireplace that had rusted on the inside without charging anything extra.  He was courteous, answered all my questions and did a thorough job.  Would definitely use this company again.

They're definitely excellent because they're licensed. The other company wasn't. They charge $65 just to come in and check it out. I talked to the owner. He is very professional and very knowledgeable. The custom screens that we ordered was about $1000. They know what they're doing.

Provider came about an hour after the given 3-hour window. Otherwise, the job was quick and professional.

We went to Dunrite's location where we got answers to all of our questions and a selection of inserts to choose from (no heavy sales pressure). We went home and chose our insert (Vermont Castings Merrimac). We contacted Dunrite and set the date. They came as promised and installed it in half a day. All went great including clean up. Fired up insert the same day and it is fantastic. Price was high but it was a local business and the service was excellent.

I called Dunrite on Friday, January 10, 2014 for repairs to the gas fireplace and the first appointment I was given was for Wednesday, January 15, 2014 between 1-5pm. I made arrangements to take off from work including 20 minutes traveling time to wait at home
for a technician.

At 2pm on the day of the scheduled appointment, I received a phone call from Dunrite's office informing me that the technician
"was stuck in Nassau County" and would not be able to make the appointment in Westhampton. His assistant apologized knowing that this middle of the day cancellation was outrageous and said she was going to call the technician again to ask him if he could get to me
by 5pm. She called me back to inform me that the technician could come Thursday, January 16, 2014. I informed her that I would be
unable to be home 2 days in a row nor interested in rescheduling and wasting more valuable time. I asked her who the owner was and she said it was the technician who didn't show. I concluded the conversation by stating I assume he was not interested in future business.
I went back to work realizing I will have to take off again for another repair appointment with a different company.

If the owner/technician chooses to respond to this review, it should only be an apology and not in his defense. Let me remind him
my time is as valuable as his. If I pulled a stunt like that at my job, there would be serious consequences for me. You don't call a
customer in the middle of a large window appointment and state you're not coming. To say the least it is totally unprofessional and
perhaps he did me a favor. I don't want unaccountable repair people in my home especially dealing with a gas fireplace.

In conclusion, Dunrite, you dId wrong and belong in the Hall of Shame. This poor review is a consequence of your inaction.

We visited the storefront showroom location and Ellen was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions about wood burning, pellet and gas stoves and inserts. We had lots of questions and were there nearly two hours learning everything about these options. She was patient, helpful, attentive, very knowledgeable about every stat, and gave us the feeling she really knew her stuff. I would certainly consider buying from them once we make a decision what unit(s) to buy. I would add that we showed up 1 hour before the store was closing, and it was the night a blizzard was coming and it was already snowing hard and dark out, and she showed no impatience and trying to kick us out. We even offered to leave considering the above, but she was very professional. I was really blown away.

The owner inspected the chimneys and instructed one of his workers.  They were quick and cleaned up after themselves.

They came during the 2 hour window projected for the estimate. I asked for a good price because I had an oil burner chimney and a regular wood burning fireplace chimney that needed cleanings He gave me high prices of $120. and $100. I told him initially I had the large flyer offering a 25% discount that he did not include. He "called" the office to get approval for the widely distributed offer. I reluctantly agreed because I had a busy day. I timed the first cleaning. He spent  5 minutes on it and only had the broom out about six feet. I complained. He did it over for 25 minutes as the other man vacuumed downstairs. The exhaust pipe screw was not replaced. I fixed it myself. The 2nd cleaning lasted about 20 minutes. There was still plenty of soot coming out of the top as the 'boss' told the sweeper/helper "that's enough". I paid the man in cash. I had to request that he write 'paid in full in cash' on the receipt  Done Wrong.

This is the third year I've used this company and have found them to be knowledgeable, honest, professional, thorough with their work, and neat.  In the past they've also resealed the base collar flange of the prefab chimney which eliminated a number issues that had been occurring.  I hope to have them replace some duct work in the future, and intend on hiring them again to clean the chimney next year.  I find their prices to be reasonable and highly recommend this company.
