"According to our records, the last time we were at this address was December 5, 2011. The bill was not $1000, it was under $700. The boiler did need significant work because there was water leaking on the floor - the relief valve and expansion tank were defective, as was a circulating pump. This required many parts and some labor, and is why the call was expensive. We discovered a bad zone valve as well, but the customer declined replacing this part. We also recommended both immediate and regular cleaning/maintenance of the boiler but this was not done according to our records- doing so regularly on an older hydronic system is highly recommended so that a multitude of repairs does not build up all at once. No complaints were received after our service, and we are only left to wonder if someone else made the repairs mentioned in 2012 or if the unreplaced, bad zone valve is why the unit is malfunctioning again. Almost two years have passed since we were there...we hope that as a result of this new information, this review does not reflect poorly on our service and reputation."

.A gentlemen stopped by gave good quote, and said it would probably be 10 days to get on the schedule.
I said lets do it They got me on schedule for following Thursday "only 7 days", Then he called on Friday and said that they had a cancellation for Monday and if I would mind moving up on the schedule "are you kidding"
They did the work neatly and clean-up very professionally.

Coming off New Year's Eve and New Year's day I wasn't too optimistic that any company would be able to send someone out that day, but Murray's had someone here within the hour. The service person was very personable, polite and thorough. He showed me what was wrong and explained what needed to be done - the expansion tank was rusted and water was dripping from the relief valve. He looked up prices for parts and labor and gave me a price. I called my husband and asked the service person to speak with him on the phone to explain what was going on.
When we agreed to have Murray's perform the work, the service person said he was going to call in and see if someone else could come out with the expansion tank. He said he was scheduled for a doctor's appt. that afternoon, but wanted to make sure the job was completed before he left. The other person came right out with the tank and they finished the job in time for him to make his appointment.
I don't know much about plumbing rates, so I don't know where their price would fall amongst others, but I was glad they were able to make the repair and I didn't have to worry about water in the basement or not having hot water until my husband got back. I would recommend Murray's to others based on their service and would call them again if I need work done in the future.
