The Guys Construction Company

I hired The Guys Construction Company to remodel my bathroom, but they failed to provide the proper services and repairs, which ended up costing me thousands of dollars to fix. On December 18, 2024, the owner, Adam Berti, accidentally dropped a hammer in the new tub they had installed and only offered to reimburse me for the ruined tub, which was valued at $200. He refused to compensate me for the labor or provide any receipts, claiming that he does not issue receipts to his customers. Before dropping the hammer, the crew had already damaged the brand-new tub by using it as a storage space for their tools, leaving marks, adhesive, and dents. Additionally, the contract clearly stated that new shower fixtures were to be installed, but they instead cleaned and reused my old fixtures without deducting their cost from the estimate. After another construction company assessed their work, I was informed that both the shower surround and vinyl flooring were installed incorrectly and would need to be repaired or replaced. When the new construction company I hired removed the shower surround and tub, they discovered a plumbing leak that The Guys Construction Company had failed to address, finishing the job without notifying me. When I submitted my formal payment request after winning a small claims court case against them, Adam Berti responded unprofessionally, using profanity. It's important to note that The Guys Construction Company is NOT a licensed business, which is illegal in New York State for home improvements costing over $500. I wish I had known they were unlicensed before hiring them. Furthermore, I requested that they minimize noise, aside from necessary banging, because I work remotely during therapy sessions. They assured me they would keep the noise down, but proceeded to play loud music anyway, making it difficult for me to address the issue while I was working. Additionally, they filled my trash bin to the top without asking and discarded the scrap materials they claimed they would haul away. Let this serve as a warning: do not do business with them.

Do not hire these hacks. Everything they did was a problem. Tile uneven and not grouted properly. The toilet was not centered in the bathroom so whoever uses it will have their elbow in the sink because it was placed so close to the vanity. They left grout stuck to a brand new tub and never cleaned it out. We were never consulted about how we wanted things done. When we did voice that we were not happy with their work they threatened to leave half way through the project. I finally had enough after I brought in our HVAC contractor who saw all the mistakes. He met with Adam and Jack at the beginning of the protect to tell them how they should leave openings for him to install new radiators . Of course they didn’t and it caused more work for him to drill through porcelain tile. They left a crooked wall so my granite installer could not install the counter tops and I have had to pay someone to rip out the cabinets and fix the walls. Any contractor I have had come through cringes at their work and points out problem after problem that we will incur in the future. My only recourse is small claims court with receipts and statements from contractors that have come in to fix the terrible work they did. Please do not hire Adam Berti and Jack Ryndack of The Guys Construction to do any work for you. They use stock photos on Facebook and their website to falsely advertise their work but it is not work they have even done. They use their friends to give them positive reviews. They have no idea what they are doing and have cost me time and loss of income from not being able to lease my rental.

Job started out good but quickly deteriorated when digging posts for deck and encountered tree roots. After one week, contractor indicated his estimator didn't tell him about the tree roots and slopped land. Said he was losing money and walked off the job leaving deck incomplete and garage barely started. Complained about how much money he was losing when in fact his quote was in line with two other contractors. Work was of poor quality, deck was actually smaller than 10'x12' contracted and garage was stripped of some moldings and left. After one week, he walked off the job leaving me hanging. I NEVER should have paid him. Very poor quality and very unprofessional.

The workers and owner were very nice to deal with. The work was completed quickly and for a decent price. But... they basically pulled out the old window and plopped in the new one. There was real craftsmanship on the outside.of the house, around the new windows. I was told.it would look good when finished, but.it looked like crap. The owner offered to have me only pay for the windows and he would eat the $600 for the days labor, because he would not install new window trim outside for the.price I was paying. In the end, the caulked and painted the original trim with a quick, sloppy coat of paint. I could have done that myself. After writing reviews the owner called me and yelled ad me and accused.me of sitting.home alone.and bored.1950
