mr ismail came the next day after we spoke drew up a contract took measurement and gave me a price and took a down payment of 1/3 two days later I looked out my window they were digging up my plants so I ran out grab the garbage cans and had them to put them in they dug up about 46'x8' of dirt and haul it away oh I was impress they level the ground truck pour the cement now my heart is filled with joy two days latter we got this unexpected snow that turn to ice two days later they came back the weather was great they dug up the front took down the fence left two poles in the ground I asked about the he said don't worry then the truck came pour the cement and the that's when it went down hill the ice began to melt they couldn't get the cement to do right it came out looking bad took for ever to dry they came back 5 days later to do the staircase I saw that they left a fence pole in 2 places I thought it was a reason there were no reason they came back took the old steps down and told me I had to remove the wood  thank god I had big sons they came with there pickup truck and haul it away but they took parts that they wanted like the fence not the poles parts of the steps well the stairs is complete the now having lunch they spill  food all over the ground the season from the food stain the ground now it's time to do the side of the house those guys were the worst they pour cement in my plants, on the neighbor lawn broke my lilac tree with there back pack that's when I lost my mine called mr ismail and let him have it he came over made them clean it up but these guys left a mess with the cement all over the street I paid his the balance that's when I found out he didn't do the railing now im left to get railing on my own or IF HE CAN GET IN TOUCH WHITH SOME PEOPLE HE KNOW

Mr Ismail gave me a very reasonable estimate and started work at my convenience. Upon demolition of existing cement porch it was discovered there was nothing but rotted wood under columns, a potentially dangerous condition. Mr Ismail poured foundation under column and of course this extended original time frame to complete. Mr Ismail explained the additional cost but was willing to forego this if I didn't agree. I knew this was way out of the scope of original plan and agreed to Mr Ismail's extremely reasonable additional fee. I would highly recommend this company for all future renovations and consider Mr. Ismail to be one of the most honest and reliable people I have ever done business with.

Our job was very small one, just  a sidewalk square was to be replaced. I was having a very hard time finding a contractor that would be able to do such a small job on such a tight deadline. 
Rahat Contracting confirmed our appointment time the day before. Called 10 minutes before arrival, called again upon arrival, made introductions and went directly to work. The workmen were very professional and quiet. They started work at 8am on a Saturday morning and were very conscious our neighbors will still be sleeping. By 12/1 the work was complete, the site cleaned and the workmen showed my what they day and how to prevent people from walking through the site till the cement dried. I am VERY pleased with the work and will hire Rahat again for other masonry work needed by summer 2014

the man showed up early every morning with his crew to do the work, I had to go away for 3 days and they were quite aggreable to stop, and come back the day after I returned, which was on a Sat, and they didn't  stop until they finished on Sun eve. I saw a detail on the molding and we agreed that he would come back in afew days to take care of it, But that night he called me and asked if he could come the next day in the morning to finish the job. he came, and they did a splendid job. Perfect to detail.

The biggest surprise was the men's  from Bangladesh were fearful of my loving 100lb Lab/hound mix female doggie but she was so gentle they soon allowed her to sniff them and then she went back to her sofa to sleep.

He started the 2/17 and he finished 2/21 as planned. They did two bedrooms, living room, kitchen (with cabinets), bathroom, and a long hallway. He had two young workers in here with him. I was here by myself, and they did a beautiful job. I had no problems coming, going, or being in my home. I felt very safe, and the work was satisfactory. They came in on time in the morning, and left on time in the afternoon. They had great manners and I feel lucky.

We set up an appointment for work to be started and he gave me a price over the phone. He never showed up. Never even called to say he was not coming.

The excellent service, quality of work, and professionalism this company  has should be role model to other contracting companies.  The owner was very responsive, always easy to reach and just an all around excellent person to work with.  He was on time, didn't cut corners, very clean and worked with my other contractor seemlessly.  Anyone looking for a general contractor that does good work for an excellent price should consider Rahat for thier next job.

Kazi, who runs Rahat, is a real gentleman and a pleasure to do business with. His crew is exceptional in that they show up on time, stay late if necessary and do excellent work. I would definitely use them again.

Very Well!

I had an excellent experience with this company from start to finish. They were punctual, provided me with a detailed written contract gave me a competitive rate and were generally a pleasure to work with. I have some additional work to do and I plan to call them back to do that as well.

I contacted The Rahat Construction company and received an estimate for painting. caulking and flashing. The construction crew also   installed a window.and a repaired an attic window   on a 2200 square foot house. Kazi  is the owner of the business   promises what he delivers. He was on punctual and arrived on the days that were arranged for the work to be completed. He was present on the job and oversaw his employees and corrected any  actions which he thought were done appropriately to his standards, He contacted me when ever he needed to do some work. I would definitely use his services again for his honesty and good work ethic. Believe me, i have had a few lemons but he delivers the goods.

Everything went well. workers was very professional and knowledgeable. I recommend this company to everyone I know.

Overall a fairly good experience.  I was very clear that the job had to be done in 5 days (we had guests coming to stay with us).   Kazi said he didn't want to rush and I appreciated that but said the 5 day deadline could be met.  I even told him if they had to stay over time I was fine to pay extra, but that it HAD to be finished in 5 days.  He said no, should be fine, "We come 8am-4pm every day."
The last morning I spoke with him he said they would be done by 4pm.  When I showed up at 3 there was one guy there just beginning to paint.  This was a bit frustrating as painting should not be something that takes a long time to do.  I expressed my concern to Kazi and he said they would be done by 7.  The last moments were obviously rushed and so the paint job is NOT good (some sections were completely missed) and the doors look terrible.  I understand when doing electrical and framing, sometimes it really is only a 1 man job.  (Not much can move forward until the electrical is done, and there is only 1 saw....etc.).  But to get hung up on painting- when you can easily have 4 people painting and get it done in 20 min- is just silly.
 I finally told Kazi I had people coming at 7 and he said "Why didn't you tell me?"  As if, he needed to be the judge of why it was important for him to finish on time.  Again, because of the rushing, the place was very dirty when they left and each day I see something new that could have been done better had they used their time more wisely.  
I think had I given him 1 more day all would be well.  But it is also his job to tell me if it cannot be done in 5 days.  If that was the case, then I could have made arrangements, but because he didn't tell me until the day of, it made it very stressful.

The  workers were very respectful and efficient. They showed up on time.  The job was well done.  I would recommend this company to others.

Rahat Contracting did an excellent job cleaning and sealing our stoop.  They were careful not to disturb our next door neighbors and worked quickly and were very neat.  The stoop had many cracks and water was an issue in our basement because of this.  Now that this work has been done, we are no longer living in fear of the weather forecast!

The service provided by the owner and the workmen was excellent.  I found their ad in the Angie's List booklet for my area and received an estimate within a few hours of calling.  Rahat Contracting was punctual, respectful of our neighbors, and very efficient.  I am very happy with the work that they did and anticipate that our home will be much more comfortable this coming winter.  I also look forward to hiring them again for additional work in the coming year.

Job was excellent. Mr Kazi and crew worked diligently to make sure the entire roof was sealed. They were always on time, and job was Completed on schedule. Will continue to hire mr. Kari for future projects.

THE WORKER ARRIVED ON THE FIRST OF AUGUST AND WORKED VERY HARD FOR 2 DAYS. HE FINISHED ON FRIDAY NIGHT. HOWEVER, THE WORK HE DID WAS NOT SATISFACTORY. I PAID BECAUSE IT WAS COMPLETED.BUT NOT VERY WELL . THE WORKER CRACKED 2 TILES AND CHIPPED A FEW OTHERS. HE ALSO WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLACE THE LIVING ROOM CEILING  TILES AND HAD TO CALL KAZI TO HELP HIM. KAZI TOOK $25 OFF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT BECAUSE HE WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE CEILING LIGHT COVERS THAT FIT THE BEDROOM FIXTURE( IT IS VERY OLD). MY SON NOTICED THAT HE MISSED A FEW SPOTS ON THE FLOOR TILES.AND QUESTIONED THE WORK ON THE CORNERS OF THE BATHTUB.( THAT WAS NOT PART OF THE CONTRACT). I CALLED KAZI ON SUNDAY AND HE SAID THAT HE WOULD COME BY DURING THE WEEK. ANOTHER OF MY SONS NOTICED THAT THE WORKER LEFT SOME SMALL SPACES IN THE GROUT ON THE WALL TILES. I DECIDED TO ADDRESS THAT WHEN KAZI CAME B. I HAVE NEITHER SEEN NOR HEARD FROM HIM SINCE. IWAS VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Rahat Contracting came on time and did what needed to be done and what was agreed to and worked quickly and efficiently.  We have had no issues with water coming into the lower floor since they did the work.

All in all it was pretty fast. It took some time due to the on again off again rain this spring/summer.
