Eddie is a consumate pro! Look no further, seriously. If he doesn't answer his phone, it's because he's literally bending over backwards for a customer to fix whatever appliance needs fixing, and he'll call you back as soon as he has free time. He's cordial, fair-priced, friendly, knowledgable, and quick. He doesn't mess around, takes the time to really investigate the problem, and orders parts he needs right away if he doesn't have them with him. I can't really imagine it going better. I've had a few dud repairmen work on appliances for me before; now I know who I'll call next time any appliance in my house needs some love. Thanks, Eddie!

This was the first time I used Eddie. I called the provider in Bay Ridge that I've used in the past and they said they no longer work on Saturdays and they could not get to me in the time frame I needed so I took to Angie's and found Eddie. He came out promptly, diagnosed the problem and gave me quotes. My appliances are 12 years old and I've fixed each in past (dishwasher was under warranty) and Eddie actually suggested I buy a new dishwasher but I was leaving next day to travel on business so timing was not great. Anyway, I told him to fix. I realized afterwards that had I chosen to buy a new dishwasher that Eddie make less money so that told me he was honest. Fast forward a week later and Eddie comes back and lo and behold the factory sent wrong part for Fridge (not Eddies fault) so he could only do some of that repair and he said he would get new part and come back a few days later. He replaced pump & impeller on dishwasher, tested it and it worked. A few hours later I go to use dishwasher and no water is going into the tub. I call Eddie and he says he'll come out in 2 days (a Monday) No problem. Monday morning he calls me to say he's on his way and to tell me that he passed by a place that had the part for the refrigerator so he will pick that up too. He arrives shortly after, gets the dishwasher going (I think he needed to re-position drain line) and makes the repair to my refrigerator. He then sticks around for awhile to ensure the dishwasher is working as it should be. All in all job is well done and my wife & I are very happy with his service and demeanor. We would definitely use him again and when I think back to his suggestion that I buy a new dishwasher instead of repairing....well, needless to say, that says a lot. Call Eddie, he's ready and you won't be sorry.

This is our second time using Eddie's Modern Appliance - and we can't say enough about how fantastic he is. I am quite sure he is the most honest repair person we have ever encountered. Our dishwasher was making a loud sound - and he quickly came over, gave a diagnosis and ordered a replacement part. A few days later when installing, he decided to check something else and discovered we needed a much less expensive part/repair - and told us as so. This wound up being at least $100 less than we originally thought. What a gentleman! Hopefully, nothing else will break but if it does, we will call Eddie!

We had a long-time appliance repair person who recently passed away. Now that we needed someone we looked on Angie's List and found Eddie, who is a local person and was highly rated. Eddie was easy to get a hold of, scheduled an appointment for the next day, showed up on time, diagnosed the problem, had the necessary replacement part, installed and tested the repair, had a very fair price, gave the Angie's List discount. Exceptional service and a very positive experience.

You may have to book him a few days in advance because he's busy. But I've used him three times now, for two refrigerators now and one stove, and it's been great every time.

Eddie was great. First of all, our washing machine's agitator was not working. No spinning. We hired a different repairman. He worked to loosen the bolt at the top of the agitator. It had practically sealed. Unfortunately, this different repairman said he couldn't fix it. I asked, "what should I do?" He gruffly answered, "Buy a new washing machine." So we did, but it couldn't fit through our door. We hadn't measured the doorway correctly. Had to return the new washer. Now we REALLY needed to repair the old washing machine if we didn't want to widen our door frames. (We have no idea how the previous owners got the machine in unless they've narrowed the doorways). ENTER EDDIE. I described the situation to Eddie over the phone. He said he understood the problem. He could fix the washer AND knew which part to order. Eddie came over with the new part in hand. He had trouble getting the bolt off, but made me feel confident in his knowledge and work ethic when he explained his back up plan if it became necessary... but he got the bolt off!!! Hurray. And now our washer is fixed. We're very happy. Eddie's a good guy and a reliable repairman. Thank you Eddie, Heather & Craig

very well. he came on time for the initial visit. a part was needed so he ordered it. he came back and installed the part and the dishwasher is working well. I thought the price was fair. I am happy with the service and would use him and recommend him

I called and left a message that my dryer wasn't working and received a call back within 1 hour. Eddie arrived on time and figured out the problem in about 5 minutes. He ordered the part on his phone and came back to install it. He was prompt, professional and reasonably priced. His business is located less than 1 mile from my house but it took Angie's list to find him !

Our 2 year old GE washing machine started making loud grinding noises. Left a message for Eddie on 9/14/15. He called back later in the day and set up an appointment for the following morning at 8 am. He called in the morning to say he was on his way and arrived promptly at 8. After checking the washer, he determined that it wasn't level and the fact that it was tilted was causing a bolt to scrape against the bottom of the washer. He showed us how to adjust the legs to keep the machine level and also explained generally how the washing machine works. There was no charge for adjusting the washer. We then told him about a problem we were having with our Kitchen Aid refrigerator with bottom freezer. Ice would build up on the bottom and water would leak onto the floor. Eddie said it was a known defect with this model. The valve would get clogged with gunk and the water couldn't get through causing the issue.. He said he had the part with him if we wanted him to replace it. We did! Eddie quickly did the repair. The whole visit took about 40 minutes. Eddie was extremely knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and pleasant. He explained all the problems in detail and showed us the parts that he replaced. I would not hesitate to use Eddie's Modern Appliance Service again and recommend him to others.

My 5 year old LG refridgerator was not working, I called Eddie and he was able to tell me the problem. My refridgerator needed a new motor and Eddie could've easily made a quick buck with parts and labor. He advise me to call LG because my refrigerator was still under warranty for parts. With no hesitation I will hire Eddie to the labor.

Eddie is not looking to make easy nor a quick buck. The refridgerator needs a new motor, Eddiie easily could've charged me for the motor and labor. He advise me to call the manufacture bc I was still under warrant and LG replace the motor for free.. Unfortunately LG will not pay for the labor, but I will be glad to hire Eddie for the labor.

Eddie is great to work with. Very responsive and hands on. I felt the price was fair and our dishwasher was fixed. He came out initially to assess the issue. We needed a part ordered and installed and within 3 days he had the part and installed it.

Do not even look at any other provider. I called Eddie and he took the time to try and fix my problem right over the phone. When that would not work he ordered the part and followed up every day until it arrived. Saturday morning at 8am Eddie was behind my door with a smile on his face holding my fan motor. That is what everybody wants! Call Eddie now!

I had a problem with my refrigerator. Over the past month I noticed that the top shelf had ice on it, as did all the containers on the top shelf and I saw water dripping from the top of the compartment onto the shelf. I tried to remedy the situation myself by lowering the temperature but that didn't help the situation. I finally looked on Angie's List and found Eddie. I called and spoke with him and after my short description of the problem he made a simple suggestion and thought that would solve the problem and IT DID !!! I have to say that I am SOOO impressed with Eddie's professionalism and honesty. He could have set an appointment to check out the refrigerator himself- and charge me for the home visit - but he didn't. He said if his simple fix didn't work to call him back and he would check it out further. I am happy to have found such an honest repair man and will definitely call him again if I have a problem with any other appliance.

My freezer was broken so I called him after hours and left a message thinking he would get back to me in the morning. He returned my call that same evening and set up an appointment for the next day. He accurately diagnosed the problem and when he came to my house, he actually had the parts in his truck! I was so impressed because in my experience, repairmen have to come back the next day because they don't have the correct parts with them. He was professional, friendly and replaced the parts quickly and diligently and the price was good. This guy knows his stuff and I would recommend him in a heartbeat. I'm a satisfied customer.

Thursday night, my two-year old washing machine went on the fritz and wouldn't spin. After repeated re-starts and unsuccessful attempts to get it working, I knew it was time for a repair. On Saturday morning, I called Eddie from Eddie's modern appliance and he came out to check the machine two hours later. He found the problem, the transmission, an expensive part, which would cost half the cost of a new machine after installation cost is added. Given brands reliability problems he provided good advice: Rather than sink nearly $300 into an unreliable machine, to see if the company will cover the cost of the part & have him come back to install it. Otherwise, buying a more reliable brand would be a better investment. He waived his usual $40 visit fee, which is normally only waived if repairs are done. Fortunately, due to time and/or jiggling, the machine started spinning again, leaving us more time to get the part or eventually replace the machine.

Eddie came by promptly and we were impressed with his integrity in not pushing a service that we didn't need. He also came on a federal holiday. He was great!

These guys are the best. If they're in your area use them! They found the drainage tubing on my 27 year old refrigerator had hardened and cracked and was leaking into the basement ceiling. The fridge was too old for a replacement part, so they went to the hardware store (HD) and fished around for a match of tubing that could substitute for it. And they didn't charge me an arm and a leg! Where can you get that now-a-days?

I called for service on my aunt's refrigerator (she's also my tenant) in the evening and was pleasantly surprised my message was answered early the next morning by the owner of the company, Eddie, himself. He asked me for some information and based on my answers, let me know he could have a repair person there later that day (the refrigerator needed time to defrost). Unfortunately, the repair person got stuck in traffic in Staten Island and a 3pm appt for me in Brooklyn, ended up taking place around 5:30pm. There was communication during that time so it was comforting to know they hadn't just forgotten about us. When he arrived, he explained what needed to be changed and let me know what the price would be before beginning which is their policy. I thought the price was fair and considering a refrigerator is an essential appliance, the work had to be done as quickly as possible. Plus they take $20 off for Angie's List customers! I'm not sure which part was replaced, but when it was done, my aunt and I were told it would take about 24 hours for the refrigerator to reach it's optimal coolness. However, that didn't happen. It started to get cool, but never quite made it all the way. After the repair was done, Eddie left a message asking that we let him know if we were satisfied. After waiting the 24 hours, I called him back letting him know the situation. He came by personally and realized the fan also needed to be replaced, but the part had to be ordered. A few days later the fan arrived, he came by, replaced it himself and the refrigerator was like new. Best part is, he didn't charge for the extra part or his labor which I really appreciated. Now some might say, their job was to fix the refrigerator and they didn't do that the first time around so they shouldn't have charged extra anyway. But some companies are only looking for money and purposely delay jobs and fix piece by piece so they can charge every time. I'm happy to say Eddie seems to really care about a job well done and a good reputation more than how much he can get a customer to pay so I would gladly recommend him to anyone who needs appliances repaired.

My phone call was answered immediately and an appointment was made for about an hour later. He showed up on time, diagnosed the problem, and explained what had happened and what was needed in order to resolve the problem. There were no repairs required and I was charged only the cost of the service call.

The service provider was a no show

He was very nice and was able to diagnose the issue very quickly. Unfortunately, he informed me that the repair work has to be done by an electrician as it was an electrical problem rather than an issue with the appliance itself. He was able to recommend an electrician and even offered to reach out and contact the electrician to get the work scheduled. He was very good and you could tell that he was not just trying to make money and actually gave advice on resolving the problem. He seems to be very reliable and was very helpful even though he wasn't able to repair the dryer, he was able to help out to the best of his ability.

this guy is GREAT!!! he is reliable,knowledgeable honest and is a person that keeps his word;shows up on time. if he is running late,he calls. the night before the holidays i called very late on a thursday night leaving a message that my oven could not be placed in the cleaning mode. he called the next morning that that he would try to come later in the day,but he was closing down for the holidays.he called later and said that he would come the next day(saturday).he came at the appointed time,pulled out the entire unit and found that it needed the broiling igniter. being saturday the mfg was closed. eddie said he would get the part on monday and would also come to install it. he came on monday,had the new igniter but wanted to again check the unit. he pulled it out again and in checking this time discovered that grease had accumulated on the igniter that prevented the cleaning mode to operate. he said that he would keep the new igniter in his stock. he wished us "happy holidays" and no charge for his service. if you need any of your appliances fixed call eddie.
