Also smashed a 32 gallon Rubbermaid container and its contents as though the truck ran over it. Otherwise, fine.

Everything from submitting information to receiving an estimate all went without any issues. The crew arrived on time, there weren't any additional charges, and they moved quickly and efficiently. All of the walls had just been painted BRIGHT WHITE, but not a single wall was hit by the crew. They were polite, courteous, and worked hard to ensure that we were satisfied with everything. I didn't find them to be pushy for a tip as some have mentioned.

Dumbo was fabulous from start to finish.  In the lead up to the move I asked tons of questions and made a number of changes up until 2 days before the move.  Both the phone conversations and the move were handled with patience and professionalism. In particular I would like to commend Marko.

On the day of the move, the movers arrived early.  They were efficient and friendly. They wrapped the items nicely and were done promptly.  The price, which was very reasonable was exactly as previously quoted.
I would absolutely use Dumbo again and recommend them to others.

It was a complete nightmare after we realized exactly how much of our belongings were missing. When the movers arrived to begin everything was fine. Our lamp was stolen by them, our expensive clothing was stolen, our nice belts, and also my tooll box and power tools also disappeared after we used these criminals. When we called to confront them we were told that insurance will reimburse us 6 cents per pound of what we lost! What in the world?!?!? That doesn't even cover 1/100 of what was stolen from me. I will never use them again and I do not recommend them to anyone!

They were on time and they did the job very well. They have a careful action and the price is good.

Terrible experience.
Dumbo moving charged us 40% more than they originally quoted (but after our belongings were packed and moved out).
We contracted the company to pack, move, store and unpack. The never unpacked, but kept about $1000 in charges for that service.
Additionally they broke a few items which were never replaced or repaired.
It is almost impossible to get in touch with them in case of problems. Phone calls weren't returned and emails went unanswered.
Last but not least: they are slow, unprofessional to the point that they actually packed our live plants and put them in storage. 
Their foreman, Sebastian, was very brusque and aggressively asked for tips even before the move started.

I was a DUMBO for using DUMBO!.

We are a military family (Hubby recently retired) and we were excited about relocating and that our family would finally be under one roof.  To help facilitate our move, I made an appointment with a DUMBO phone rep for a 1:00-3:00 PM service window to be scheduled the next day.  However, I received a text message at 9:00 AM the day of the move stating "the movers are at the location, they will leave in 30 minutes if you do not arrive".  WHAT???!!!  My appointment was scheduled for 1:00 PM; NOT 9:00 AM.  DUMBO's  error.

I spoke with the owner Carl, and explained to him that they made an error with the timing, and also stated that I needed to change my appointment date to the following day anyway.  He rushed me to take the 9:00 AM appointment, and even though I was reluctant to accept that appointment time because we were flying to NY, I obliged.  Neededing to reschedule my appointment to the next day because our flights were delayed I spoke with CArl, the owner/manager who changed my appointment

I would not recommend this company for a long distance move. I was told things by the sales department that turned out to be false. They told me they would be moving my things in a truck owned by the company and they didn't. They told me I would not need cash or a money order for the second half of my payment and I did. It was very difficult finding $2000 in cash in a new city the day before my things were delivered. I have three pieces of antique furniture, all passed down through my family, all of which were badly broken. I haven't been able to file a claim for the damage yet, I'll repost when I go through that process. The workers on site did work extremely hard, and they packed my kitchen items very well. I used them once before for a local N yC move and they were great. I would recommend talking to someone other than Sal in the sales department, and to not trust them with a long distance move.

This company has insurance, a huge bonus.  They were prompt, helped pack large items, and nothing was broken or damaged in the move.

Do not use Dumbo Moving!  I repeat:  Do NOT use DUMBO Moving!!! My boyfriend and I were moving into a new apartment together from separate locations.  We made them aware of the time restrictions of the new condo complex we were moving into, 830 am to 630 pm.  We each had 1 Bedroom apartments.  DUMBO moving recommended using one crew and doing both location pick ups and the move in the same day rather than using to separate crews.  We agreed based on their recommendation.  
1.  Crew was scheduled to be at 1st Location at 9:00am.  Didn't show up until 10:40 am.  
2.  Damaged stairwell wall.
3.  Got off wrong exit while driving to 2nd location.
4.  Finished packing 2nd location at 4:45pm.    
5.  2 members of the crew took smoke breaks of 10 mins per hour every hour.  3rd member of crew was nice and continued to work. 
6.  Could not make into new complex prior to 6 pm, Therefore we could not unload.  
7.  Dumbo moving stored our property overnight in the moving truck.  
8.  Schduled for 7:30 am next morning, showed up @ 8:55 am.
9.  Massive amounts of water damage.  The company knew that the truck had multiple leaks in the truck, both in the cab as well as the storage area for furniture.  According to the crew, management had known about the leaking truck for more than 1 month.  
10. Water damage to both Mattresses (Temurpedic and King Pillow-top), clothes soaked, water damage to sectional sofa, and coffee and end tables. 
11.  Damage to sectional sofa, rip in 3 areas. 
12.  Damage to coffee table, wheel broken off. Dumbo moving sent an email the next day, and charged our credit card a $250 overnight storage fee.   We did not authorize this charge.  They charge for the overnight storage since they did not make the condo deadline for the move and had to come back the next morning. 
Absolutely unprofessional. Once we informed Dumbo moving that we would be making a claim, (which was the same day of the off load when all damage was noticed. (2nd day of moving), we received a call the next day from the crew foreman stating that Dumbo would not be paying the crew for the two days of moving.  Very rude phone call and unprofessional. We submited all the photos and itemized list of damage.  Dumbo moving offered us $100 settlement with the caveat that we remove all negative reviews from the internet.

DO NOT USE THEM. They are not very expensive but you really pay for it in the end. They ruined several pieces on mine, scratched my floors in my new house and almost destroyed my piano. Once again: pay a little more and use people that know what they are doing. DO NOT USE DUMBO MOVING!!

This was the worst moving company I have ever used.  They do everything to get your business. Once you have a contract signed with them, everything goes downhill from that point on. They know that you are stuck with them, so they take advantage of this situation by charging you for every little thing, not caring about your items and at the end leaving you with damaged articles and ruined house. 
My husband and I were moving from our 2 bedroom apartment in Manhattan to a townhouse in DC. The first round of the move (loading from nyc apartment to truck) was ok. They ended up charging us extra for things that we were originally told were included in the price. The second round of the move (from nyc to dc) was beyond awful. When our items were picked up from NYC, we did not have an address in DC. Accordingly, our items were stored in their facilities for a few months. Once my husband and I were ready to provide a delivery address, I called Dumbo and gave them our DC address and requested a date. Even though I was extremely flexible with the timing (selected a date that was more than one month later than the day I called to schedule), they charged me $300 extra to book the date. They apparently do not guarantee dates unless you pay the $300 fee. They just say when we can show up anytime between the days of X and Y (which was a period longer than a week). 
When the items were delivered to DC, there were only 2 guys to handle the move. One of them was extremely careless. He kept dropping our boxes, dragging large pieces of furniture on the brand new hardwood floors (we ended up with numerous deep scratches), bumping items into walls and doors (we have holes on our doors and dents in our walls, and our banisters have wood chipping off). Even though we politely requested that he would be more careful, he continued his careless acts. At the end, we were left with so many damages in our brand new house. It was very sad to watch this scene, and the fact that he ignored our warnings made it even worse. 
On top of these, some of our furniture was damaged --  just a few examples: mattress had a tear, glass coffee table top was chipped, and lamp shades were broken.   Yet, I was more concerned about the house since I can replace the items more easily than fixing floors, walls, doors and banisters.
Regardless of everything, we still tipped them over $150 for their work. I did not blame the two guys. It was wrong that only 2 people were sent. I thought it was the company's fault for not providing enough people for the move, and for not training their employees on how to move items and how to treat customers. 
When we reported the damage to Dumbo Moving, they offered us $180 - which barely covers just the damaged/broken/ripped items (based on their basic 60 cents/pound policy). They basically offered us nothing to cover the house damage. When we declines, they sent us information related arbitration, which I have no problem pursuing. 
Other than a lady in their accounting, everybody else was not pleasant to work with. They were extremely friendly when they were giving us an initial quote, but once we signed the contract with them, they could care less. 
Using them was an EXTREMELY BAD decision. I usually do not write very long reviews like this, but I wanted to share this experience with everyone and warn you about this company so you do not have to go through the same experience (and end up with damaged items and a ruined home). There are a lot of quality moving companies out there. I should have stuck with the one I regularly use, but the quote from Dumbo was attractive, and their initial friendly customer service during the decision time tricked me. You are better off paying a few hundred dollars for the move and avoid all the damage to your house and items in addition to the additional expenses Dumbo made me during the process. 
I should have known better. A learning experience.  I hope this review helps you.

I submitted an estimate request via Dumbo's website on a Saturday evening, and by Sunday morning, I had already received a response from Hugo, providing a detailed estimate based on the list of items I had provided. He sent the estimate via email but also followed up with a phone call to ensure receipt and encouraged me to call back with any questions. As the weeks progressed, I emailed Hugo with changes in my inventory and he would promptly respond with a revised estimate. The reservation process was very simple and all done electronically (called to provide CC number for $50 deposit, and they use DocuSign for signature of documents).
The $325 was based on moving the following items (approximately): queen mattress/box spring set, queen headboard/footboard/frame, 10 boxes, 4-5 art frames/mirrors, 4 drawer chest, 3 wardrobe boxes, TV stand, and 32" flat panel TV.
The day prior to my move, I received a confirmation text to confirm the date of the move, and the morning of, I received a call to confirm the movers will arrive at 9 am. About 10 minutes before 9 am, the foreman mover called me to let me know he was a few minutes away. Once the two movers arrived, they packed up everything in about 90 minutes and ensured fragile items were packed securely.
Once we arrived at the new location, there was one more mover (3 total) to help unload. All said and done, the move took about 4 hours. Pretty impressive considering the 2nd location did not have an elevator and the new apartment is on the 3rd floor!
I highly recommend Dumbo Moving! They are responsive, professional and do not miss a single detail! They also gave me a $75 discount for being a repeat customer. Highly recommended!!

It was really inexpensive. Nothing was broken and they showed up on time. They were professional movers and they way they worked told me that they knew what they were doing. They were very reassuring and made me feel at ease. I also thought they were extremely organized and friendly.
