Charlene Alfred Design

Charlene Alfred, a Brooklyn native has always had a love for design. Growing up in a large city with both parents being from South America and Trinidad, she was exposed to a multi-faceted and cultural environment where she would gain inspiration and soon find her passion for interior design. She knew the edge she had but figured it could solely be a hobby and nothing more so she pursued other interests in law and attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice. While attending school she worked at several creative agencies, where naturally her creativity and passion for design were irrepressible. In 2006 she graduated magna cum laude and was well on her way to law school until her career decided to take a turn. As she was working for a well-known agency in NYC in an operations role, she took on the company's expansion project and spearheaded it from conception to completion. She managed the project and worked closely with the architects, contractors and the CEO to expand the commercial space by 75%. Eight months later the agency was modernized with a new and functional floor plan that brought a creative and unified feel and look to the new and existing space. This was the pivotal moment in Charlene's career where she decided to follow her heart and talents and soon after attended the world renowned Parsons School of Design to complete her ASID. She has since launched CA Design Inc., a full service design studio that produces residential and commercial interiors as well as an event planning entity. Her small team of designers and contractors adhere to the clients' personality, lifestyle and functional needs to provide a mix of high/low designs and creating a well curated and cohesive space that speaks to the client. With no job being too big or small, the CA Design team doesn't fall short of making their client feel their requests are first priority. Apart from working on interiors Charlene can also be seen on her weekly spot on her YouTube channel and blog, Prix Decor where she chronicles some of her DIYs for her home and projects for her clients. In between managing the firm, Charlene can be found spending time with her husband Christopher, a health/fitness trainer and enthusiast along with their 2 year old son, Noah a creative genius in the making.
