"THE ESTIMATE GIVEN TO THIS CUSTOMER WAS $703.00 WITH MOVING SUPPLIES. THE MOVING JOB CAME OUT TO $986.13 ABOUT 20% OVER THE ESTIMATED COST, WHICH IS 1 ¼ HOURS MORE THAN ESTIMATED. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A RIP OFF. IT WAS JUST A JOB THAT TOOK LONGER THAN EXPECTED. THE CUSTOMER STATES “THE MOVERS TOOK FURNITURE APART AND DIDN’T TRY OR WEREN’T ABLE TO ASSEMBLE IT’. HOW CAN THE CUSTOMER NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE OF NOT TRYING TO PUT THE FURNITURE TOGETHER AND NOT BEING ABLE TO PUT IT TOGETHER? IF WE ‘DID NOT TRY” HE WOULD SEE US NOT TOUCHING THE FURNITURE. IF WE “WEREN’T ABLE” HE WOULD SEE US TRYING BUT NOT ABLE TO DO IT. THAT STATEMENT ALONE SAYS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS COMPLAINT. WHEN WE ARRIVED THE SUPERVISOR AGAIN EXPLAINED TRAVEL TIME TO THE CUSTOMER. WHEN WE WERE FINISHED MOVING SOMEONE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ARGUED WITH US THAT “THEY” WERE NEVER TOLD ABOUT TRAVEL TIME. WE NEVER TOLD HIM BECAUSE WE NEVER SAW HIM. THIS COMPLAINT LETTER IS THE FIRST THAT WE HEARD ABOUT ANY DAMAGE. IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED TO THE SUPERVISOR OR THE OFFICE. WHAT REALLY HAPPENED IS THAT THIS CUSTOMER SAID WE DID NOT MENTION TRAVEL TIME: WE DID. I PERSONALLY GAVE THIS ESTIMATE, AND I HAVE BEEN TELLING MY CUSTOMERS ABOUT TRAVEL TIME FOR 27 YEARS. IT SEEMS TO ME THE CUSTOMER WAS ANGRY THAT I WOULD NOT TAKE THE TRAVEL TIME CHARGE OFF THE BILL; HENCE THE COMPLAINT."
