We are a full service, licensed and insured plumbing and heating company. We have been in the plumbing industry for over 25 years. We use fair up-front pricing in writing giving you the cost before the job begins. No hidden fees or surprises because it took longer. We have full written warranties on all our work. All our employees are drug and background tested so you know who is in your home. We respect you and your home! Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00pm and other select times for emergencies.

This is a family owned business and it shows in their concern for their customers.After they installed our dishwasher approx one month ago, we had them back to clean our sewer.
Justin and Mike came to check on our new Bosch Dishwasher, the water was not flowing in properly, so we had to wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. They took care of the necessary plumbing and re installed the dishwasher, it now works like charm.I thought we got a lemon from Bosch, it turns out that it was installed improperly, we used the service from the store were we where bought it. Will never do that again. From now we will call Justin and Mike for all our plumbing needs.
Yesterday we had another member of the plumbing family come to clean our sewer, Tommy did a great job and left the place cleaner than he found it. He also fixed an annoying running toilet at no extra charge. Tommy was a pleasure to deal with, what a gentleman, his father should be proud to have him in the business.

The guys were waiting on my steps when i arrived home. they were right on time. they were polite and gracious. they worked quickly and in a respectful manner. also showed me ways to save money on their service. i did not feel pressure to "buy up" their services. all business was conducted in a very professional way. i would recommend a good plumber to everyone and will definitely use them next time a plumbing issue arises. thanks guys!!!!!

I was very happy with this experience. The plumber (Tommy) came out right on time and I spent almost 2 hours with him --- usually service calls like this feel rushed and gruff, and I never know if I am getting decent value -- not so in this case! Tommy explained everything that he was doing before he did it and always offered me options -- we can replace just this one piece, we can replace the whole pipe network, and he showed me all the price options upfront, totally transparent. I knew exactly what I was getting and for how much, a real relief after working with other plumbers who charge by the hour and you never know exactly what you are getting! He was super professional and friendly, and he really made me feel comfortable that my problem would not come back -- something that unfortunately happens a lot in old houses like we have. I would very much recommend this company -- they are great at fixing issues and I believe that having them as a "preventative plumber" as well will prevent lots of water related issues in the future.

The good news: After calling 3 other plumbers who said they were too busy, this company sent 2 workers who responded within a few hours. They even ventured to the crawl space under the house to check the main shut off, without hesitation. Professional job. Very friendly.
The not-so-great news: I was extremely disappointed in the $350 bill. No walls were broken. One measly valve was repaired. I'd be friendly too if I was receiving $350 for a relatively simple job.

I called A Good Plumber on Thursday, 5/24/12. The rep on the phone said that they can send someone to my home the next day by 10:00 a.m. The two plumbers that came to my home the next day (Friday) arrived right on time and were very respectful and professional. They even wore protective shoe covers so as not to dirty my rug. They explained everything that had to be done to fix the problem and also explained the cost of the job in detail, so there were no surprises. The job was performed to my satisfaction in a timely manner. I will definetely call this company again.

"Member, I am sorry you feel your price was unjustified and that is an issue if our technician did not properly explain it to you. Just so you know how we gauge our prices, I would love the opportunity to respond. First, we are a New York City Licensed (#1948) and fully insured full service plumbing company. Any “contractor”, “piping and heating” firm or “handyman” service can do it for less money, however it is actually illegal for an unlicensed plumber or contractor to do work in your property. And if they mess up and flood or damage your property, your homeowner’s insurance will NOT cover it! If you see the news lately, the city is cracking down on these unlicensed people. Chances are they are uninsured and you get a “driveway guarantee” which means when they drive away, their guarantee is up. Try calling them back if a part fails. With us, yes we are a little more expensive, but we use the best quality parts, employee only highly trained and drug tested employees, and you have a FULL 1 year warranty that if there are any problems with what we did, we come back at no cost. When you factor in the high cost the city, insurance companies, payroll, vehicles, parts, stock, technology, office, etc., and all these other agencies impose on licensed plumbers, you’d be pretty surprised at our profit margin on a job like this. I hope I was able to better justify our prices. I know we’ve been to you before and had no issues so I apologize this time was different. I am sure our technicians gave you the price BEFORE they did any work and it was no surprise and you were not “forced into a corner” to pay it. We are not the cheapest and not the most expensive, but our customers appreciate our quality, demeanor of our employees, cleanliness, workmanship etc. You get what you pay for, and with us, we always give you top notch! I called A Good Plumber because I had a mysterious leak in a closet. The man I spoke with was friendly and communicative. When the plumber came to my home, he was punctual and courteous. They diagnosed the leak as coming from weak sealant from the bathtub above. There was only a $59 charge for this visit plus they honored my Angie's list coupon. While there, they also fixed a bathtub drain clog. They only did this though after asking my permission. I have been looking for a reliable plumbing company and now I've found one!

I had a problem with hose leaking on the outside of my house. I called "a good plummer" and explained the problem. Within an hour I received a call to schedule an appointment. On that same day someone came by. I explained the problem which he quickly understood. I provide the amount of the service call, then an estimate of the job that was required.He proceed to do the work that was described in about an hours time. Once that job was done, he walked me thru it and described what needed to be done once winter comes.My angieslist coupon was accepted and I was also offered membership into the diamond club for future work.I was very please with work and I would recommend them going forward.

It was a pleasure to have this company do the renovation at our son's NYC apartment. From the onset Warren was prompt and courteous, pleasant and accommodating. Bill always responded right away to any questions we had along the way. When obstacles arose (as they usually do in old NYC buildings) the company was fair and cooperative with additional work and expense that became necessary. We would definitely use A Good Plumber again and would highly recommend their services.

We called the Good Plumber to come and check out various leaks and to install new kitchen faucets in two kitchens. They were very courteous and expained everything that needed to be done and quoted prices so that we understood everything. They installed the new faucets and the major leak was coming from the flushometer in the bedroom bathroom. Replaced that and fixed the flushometer in main bathroom.. They left everything very clean. Would definately use them again...

I have a 3 family brownstone in Brooklyn, NY and our boiler died. I signed up for Angie's list specifically to find a reputable plumbing company. We selected A Good Plumber with absolutely no regrets! The owner's son, Bill, is professional, personable, RESPONSIVE, and just seems like an all around good guy. I will admit, they are not the least expensive plumbing company that we considered. In fact they were a bit higher compared to some of my other quotes. According to Bill, they use more expensive materials made of better quality which will reduce our overall service costs down the line. Fine. I understand that.
I soon realized, what I was really paying for, and greatly appreciated, was their great customer service. They went above and beyond assisting us. On the final day of the boiler installation as they were testing the pressure so we could finally have heat, they realized there was an issue with our chimney which was causing the boiler to shut off. The chimney company they generally use, the owner was on Christmas vacation and would not return until after the new year. They were on the phone after 8pm that night calling around on our behalf trying to find us a reputable chimney company at the 11th hour. We did not use the company they recommended, but it was comforting to know they were there to assist us by pre-screening these guys. In the end, we had to spend an additional $3000 to have the chimney relined and cleaned before we could turn on our boiler! While the chimney was being fixed, which was a 2 day job, the guys from a Good Plumber brought us extra heaters to give to our tenants as it was starting to turn cold. We were very appreciative of that.
In the end, any company I do business with, I EXPECT them to be prompt, professional and responsive. Isn't that standard operating procedure? However, it is a real unexpected pleasure when the company you hire are all those things plus more! We will have to replace our water heater soon. We will definitely use A Good Plumber.

One evening after dealing with stress due to my mother becoming ill, I took a chance and picked a unknown plumbing company. Of course, I picked " A Good Plumber" just by name. I sent an email through their website, and a rep called me within 30 minutes. I mistakenly took the plumbing representative as my mother's health representative. I was thanking him for calling me back so quickly and apology for telling him my problems. He understood my grief and proceeded to make an appointment to suit me . The appointment was for in the morning and he explained that the workers would I.D themselves before entering . I was impress because they were on time and look tidy and ready to work. One of the men explained the fees and possible cost depending on the problem which can occur. The other worker asked me what I tried to do to open the drain. I explained I used all the store bought products with little luck. The workers talk among themselves and me, and decided to use air pressure to open the drain because they didn't want any pipes bursting open. After gentle care and 30 to 40 minutes, the drain ran smoothly. I was very happy because it was one less worry. It was nice that my whole morning was not tied up. Thanks again.

They responded to my telephone call the evening it was made and apologized for the delay in responding, We made an appointment which was agreeable for both parties to go over what was needed to be done. They showed up on time and went right to work. Prices for each job were provided before any work was begun. They (Warren & Thomas ) were ready to begin the job immediately,which they did.
It took about 4 hours for them to complete all the jobs ,we even went over some future jobs and they also advised against some ideas that did not need to be done.
The technicians were polite, in uniforms, respectful of my home ( wore booties over their workboots so they would not dirty the floors, now the wife wants to know why I can't do the same) and knew what they were doing.
