My experience is that they are very quick and efficient. We didn't shop around, so I can't say if the cost was competitive. The technician who came into our home was very experienced.

Overall this was a horrible experience and we felt we were treated very unfairly.
The Customer Service and quot;MANand quot; was so arrogant and rude. I hope no one else has to go through what we went through.
I guess this is how they make extra money. Sad, especially in these tough times.

Most parts went very well. The installer was easy to talk to, and responsive to questions. They went out of their way to accommodate the needs of the tenant and the old houses. There were a few delays due to coordinating work by others, and the asbestos remediation. And when the new system was connected, it wouldn't fire at first, and it took a couple of visits before they realized some mixture adjustments were needed due to using propane instead of natural gas Overall, I am pleased with the work and the results.

Tech arrived on time. Unit was promptly installed during the day. Old unit removed. Everything tested. Full clean-up.
After the installation, I noticed some soot around the flue. Called them up and emailed some pictures of what I was seeing. He promptly responded and made recommendation on getting chimney cleaned - that the 30 year old previous boiler that was restarted after being submerged in flood was the likely culprit.

Overall - very thorough, responsive and fairly priced.

They were scheduled to come to my house from 8 am to 12 pm. I stayed home from work during this time frame. I called them during that time frame to see how soon they would be there. No one ever responded to me. They called me at 12:15 to tell me that they were running late. I had already left to go to work, so my wife had to wait for them. They didn’t show up until 1 pm. My wife had to leave for work after they were only there for 10 minutes. They said that they would have to return later since they didn’t have enough time to fully assess the situation. I told them that I would call to reschedule the estimate.

I then received a bill in the mail for an hour of service. I called for an estimate, not a service call, so I should not have been charged. When I contacted them about this, they said that they were there and that they charge that amount to come to people’s homes. Apparently they misinterpreted my request for an estimate for a service call. In addition, they were only there for ten minutes and did not do any work. It doesn’t make sense why they would charge for an hour’s worth of work.

They have since sent me another bill with an additional late fee since I refused to pay the original fee that I should not have been charged. Now, they have sent the claim to a collections agency. I will not pay them for this since no work was ever completed.

We are happy with them, we have a contract with them for our AC and heating. We are still waiting for the estimate, they were here just the other day. When we had trouble with our AC it was very hot and they were quick, they worked with us and took care of us.

We've generally been satisfied with them. They've done a good job; they're straight forward and their price is fair.

After looking at reviews on Angie's List, we contact Carey and Walsh to do a routine service of our A/C unit. We had no problem scheduling a date and time, but when the day came, no one showed up in the specified window. When I called to follow up, we discovered that they had called the previous home owners number to confirm the appointment (we bought the home within the past 3 months) and the number was disconnected. They said they would try to fit me in by the end of the day only to call later in the afternoon to say they weren't going to be able to make it. I rescheduled for a few weeks later. When the second appointment came around and no one showed up in the specified window, they claimed they didn't have us on the list of appointments that day. After explaining the miscommunication with the first appointment and pressing them to fit me in that day or the next morning, they told me that they were booked and I would be inconveniencing other people if they were to squeeze me in. Needless to say, we ended up contacting another company to do the work.

We replaced our heating unit, as well as the inside section of our A/C unit - as they are sitting on top of each other. There was a problem with miscommunication of what we ordered, and we didn't realize it until AFTER the unit was installed. I realized it when I saw the final invoice, and noticed that the item listed was not the one I ordered. (who the h*** can tell one furnace from another when it is installed unless they are in the business) The person who made the mistake at Carey and Walsh, asked us not to let his manager know about the mistake because he was afraid he'd lose his job. (the unit would have had to have been removed, and then the correct one installed) Also, it was right before Christmas, and I didn't want to be the one responsible for him losing his job. So we just accepted what we got, (the price of the unit was correct, but it was NOT the unit we originally asked for, the one we wanted was more cost efficient in terms of running in the long run). As it turns out, that sales person lost his job later anyway, without any word from us on his mistakes with us. (I learned from the service guy)So other than this idiot who doesn't work there anymore, the installation and service people were excellent. The cost is about average, or a little bit above average for this area.

They are a very low-key company. They come out and do whatever it is that they are supposed to do or we ask them to do. They do it promptly and then they are no longer there. They seem to get the work done efficiently. The quality of their work is excellent. They are also very easy to have around while they're doing whatever they're doing. They just sort of come and go without having a lot of questions, answers, or instructions. They are very competent and very able. My husband and I have them on contract. Our overall experience with them has been excellent. They are a little pricey, if I remember correctly.

He was neither especially excellent nor particularly bad. He was perfectly pleasant. I wouldn't be rushing to tell everybody in the world to call them, but I certainly would discourage anybody.

Company arrived on time and introduced themselves. Inspected the work they had to do and estimated the time. Began working and finished ahead of schedule. Job well done. One slight problem caused by manufacturer and it was fixed the next day.

This was a top-notch installation. David, Brandon and Carey were on-time, and professional. They kept to the schedule that they set, as well as to my estimate. The pipes were cut and sweated neatly and the installation was clearly done with great care for appearance as well as for future servicing. I am a very particular person with a strong knowledge of proper construction techniques, and I can tell you that this really could not have been done any better - and the price was lower than the other estimates that I received. I HIGHLY recommend these three guys as well as the company.

I chose Carey and Walsh primarily on price but also because they seemed to know everything and explained the differences between the units. The crew showed up early and laid protective carpet down in the basement, then started to dismantle the old cast iron burner. It took them till noon to eliminate the old, till the end of the next day to fully install the new unit. I had a/c immediately (what a relief), better air flow than ever before. Now waiting for all the approvals before they can finanize the gas line switch.

Had one of their technicians over since house was pretty hot. He diagnosed that the compressor had gone bad on one of our units. He did not recommend fixing, and he was right. Simply got a new one. I did not even know they were here, They did all the work in 1.5 hours, lower than the estimate. Clean work, and the unit worked great. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Boiler failure required contractor to be responsive and timely-- they were. Professional from start to finish. Estimated less than a day job but even when a few issues arose they stayed until the job was done. Clean and tidy. Installation looks great, seems to be performing great. No evidence of old boiler. Small issue with the exhaust arose while they were working and they fixed with no additional charge. Needed someone who would do quality work at reasonable price right away and they did. Answered all questions and made sure we were comfortable with the job. Better price than many of the competitors (we took 7 or 8 estimates). Wish every contractor had their approach.

They were very good. They came in and did the job. They cleaned up after themselves. We also have a service contract with them. There was a leak in our system they came in gave us two options. They wear booties when they come in and are careful when they go outside. I would recommend them to other people.

Start to finish the experience was really positive. Like the best companies on this list, Carey and Walsh utilizes email in addition to phones, and are responsive to both. Within a week of my first call, the firm sent out a rep to estimate the job. Within a week after that, we got our estimate, which others interested in comparing should know was for a natural gas furnace sufficient to heat a 2,500 sq. ft. home (one zone only), plus the installation of a digital thermostat. We asked another company to submit a bid, which came in $2,800 higher, so it definitely pays to get more than one estimate. We booked the work within two weeks of having accepted the bid. The technicians came on time, finished ahead of schedule, used plastic drapes to protect furniture from dust and damage, and were pleasant guys to boot. I'd recommend these guys for furnace installation and removal in a heartbeat.
