This institution proved to make my then existing mental and physical well-being drastically worse. The entire staff was too young and inexperienced. Staff sat around amd smoked cigarettes most of the time. Owners oversaw the facility from afar, meeting with patients once/week in a VERY intimidating environment. The living conditions were disgusting! Very dirty. The patients were required to clean the dump theirselves. For the daily cost, a cleaning staff should have been included. Dietary needs were considered, but not in any way healthy. I lived in absolute FEAR every day! Staff would enter patients rooms at night to deliver bonus bucks? (reward system for chores and attending all scheduled meetings) while I was given STRONG medication for sleep. Scary. In one housing facility, I woke up to find another patient standing over my bed. Prescription medication was administered to patients on a regular schedule by NON-MEDICAL PERSONS! Housing facilities and meeting facilities were seperated by miles, so patients had to be transported by vans back and forth daily. Groups and meetings with counselors proved ineffective due to being mis-diagnosed. Never made any attempt to look at my entire medical picture, just medicated heavily. Very ineffecient and waste of time. One night, a staff member told me my prescribed sleep medication was JUST MISSING, so I was told I would have to just go without it. Needless to say, I didn't sleep at all that night. That same weekend, my parents had come to visit and saw what was happening and I ended up leaving the facility AMA. When the staff gave me my medications in order to leave, the MISSING sleep medication from the previous night miriculously showed up! Bottom line, the staff member LIED. THANK GOD I survived that 2 month experience and have since made a complete recovery from POST-ACUTE WITHDRAWL. Today I live a very healthy, happy life together with my family WITHOUT medication, NO THANKS TO THIS PLACE!
