Had a bathroom renovated. It was probably the longest renovation on record. To date it is still not finished. First they forgot to order the tile, then the plumber failed to show for a few days. In the interim, I decided to have my den painted asl. For this I was quoted one number, then convinced how much better it would look if I lowered my wainscoting, repainted all the doors and trim. That initial number quoted, tripled. Back to the bathroom: I have towel bars falling off the wall, a robe falling off the wall and the toilet paper roll hanging on. My toilet bowl isn't grouted well so it is shaky. I have put in at least 3 calls with the promise of the issues being resolved. To bad too, I used him because he was in my neighborhood.
Description of Work: Started as a bathroom renovation. Added on a den renovation.

August of 2010 I accompanied the owner ,Tim O'Neill to Home Depot to pick out material, fixtures, toilets, tiles, lighting etc.. The work began the end of August 2010. I was told it would be done in 2 weeks. I have 2 people, one a family member and the other was a man from a carpet company that was doing work at the time. The products were delivered. Many items were not items I had chosen. When I called advise them of this I would not get a return call for days. I was told by the owners wife Natalie, that the items that were delivered were the items that were on the invoices. When I tried to explain they were not the items I ordered, she said I must have ordered the wrong items. Nothing was ever their fault, they always turned it around to make it look like it was something I did. In the mean time the work began and the wrong items were installed. List of the wrong items: 2 toilet bowls, tile for laundry room, show fixtures, shower base, mirrors, saddles for the doorways.. The work went on, The new sheet rock that was installed in bathroom had to be removed and reinstalled because they put small pieces where the wall meets the ceiling. That needs to be a larger piece, this avoids cracking in the future. The master bathroom walls went up, the tile was installed, the toilet bowl was installed 2 inches away from the wall because the owner ordered the wrong size. This was something I was blamed for, I was told I order the wrong toilet bowl. The sheet rock was primed and painted a color I never choose. It was a good thing I liked it. But the walls had 26 nick and dents in it and they had to fill in the holes and re paint.All the hardware is a polished silver color, yet they install a brass doorknob in the bathroom.The plumber, the owners father in law, didn't cut the pipe in the shower drain properly and the protective grate never stayed securely fastened. He also didn't bother to check for leaks when he reconnected the bathroom sinks and water leaked on to the new custom made bathroom cabinets. Again never took responsibility for it. Blamed it on me because they were the original valves and I should have changed them. Who's the plumber here??? Many other issues, like eating lunch in a spare bedroom after being told not to go in that room. The only reason I knew they were in there, was because they left uneaten chinese food and I followed the smell of week old rotting food. Never put protective covering on the floors so carpets had to be cleaned, They installed 900 sq ft of laminate flooring that buckled after 6 months. After doing some research I discovered that a plastic barrier needs to be laid down on the concrete floor before the laminate is put down. When I questioned them they assured me it was done properly and tried to blame it on Pergo. I asked them to show me where on the invoice that they ordered the plastic barrier and they couldn't find the invoices. They came over and lifted a piece of the flooring and discovered there was no moisture barrier. They did pay for new flooring and installation, but that was not without drama. We agreed on a new floor I was told it would take 1 day of 6 men working to rip out the old floor and put in the new one. This was heard by myself, 2 family members, Natalie the owners wife and Natalie's father. Yet when that one day turned into 4 days, they denied ever saying it would only be 1 day.They had to twice, life up pieces of the new floor after it was laid in, because they put down damage planks that were very noticeable. By the way, they just finished correcting their errors almost 2 year later. They began the work in August 2010 and May 2012 was when they finished a "2 week" project. I would never recommend this company to anyone. There are still many items that were never corrected and many more things that I have not written about. I've heard of contractors from h*** but they were the worst!!!
