Highlander Roofing

The owner, Robert, gave me estimate, even went on roof to thoroughly check it out. Came following week to do job and found damaged wood under original roof. Brought my husband on the roof to show and prove needed extra work. I was very satisfied.

Highlander is a man of his word...Did a clean job, prompt and professional...Held up great during Hurricane Irene. Had a $200 cupon from Angies list which I used no problem. His price was not over the top like some of the estimates I got. I would not hesitate to recommend him to my friends.

Everything went as promised. Crew showed up exactly on time, worked continuously throughout the day and by late afternoon, new roof was on and grounds were clean as though they had never been there.

Bob was one of the only roofers that actually went up on my roof to preform the estimate.  He fully explained the roofing process and what he thought our roof required.   The roofers came on time a few weeks later and started work right away.  When it came time for the payment, there was no additional costs added.  Bob stood by his estimate. The only thing negative about our experience was that although the roofers cleaned up the driveway well, they left a lot of nails in the backyard grass.  Although, I am not sure can be avoided anyway..

I can't really account for quality b/c while I know he used quality materials..it is a new roof and only time will tell.

The roofing job went very well and we are pleased with our roof. However, along the way the managed to kill a couple of our shrubs as they would drop old roofing material on the ground. Later, when there was an issue with ice build up on a small area of the roof, we could not get them to address it to our satisfaction.

Within the last year I have tried to get them to repair missing ridge vent shingles (caused by raccoon?) and they do not respond to my requests, even though I am willing to pay for the repair.

Overall, they will do a very fine job of roofing, but don't count on them to come back in the future and do any minor work on their previously installed work. They won't return calls, and if you manage to get a hold of them they will just give you lip service.

A crew of eight removed the old roof and added a new one. All were professional and courtliest. Did an excellent clean up job as well. After they were finished another crew came in and installed the gutters. Took just one day. I was very impressed and would recommend this company to anyone in need of a new roof.

I felt that the price was good. The interaction was wonderful. I have no complaints. I liked the fact that I dealt with the owner. I liked the fact that it was done in one day. They totally cleaned up everything. I was pleased with the quality of the work overall. The owner was very honest and up-front. His prices were extremely fair. I had contacted other contractors. He wasn't the cheapest, but he was the best. I'm very pleased with him.

I got 8-10 estimates for a tear off for my roof. Highlander was in the middle on price overall but Bob was one of only 2 roofers who actually got up on my roof and walked it and the only one who noticed that our chimney flashing was bad and causing our leak. Also his price for plywood was more reasonable than other vendors. Have had a lot of snow this month but no more issues with the roof! Highly recommend.

Robert Colquhoun came out here and actually got on the roof. While examining the roof, he put a patch on the roof were my roof it was leaking. I had two other companies that came out and gave me estimates and didn't fix the leak in the roof. He wouldn't except any payment for fixing the leak. I really appreciate that and thought it was amazing. He was also very through. He explained everything in detail to me and said they would be able to get me in an a week or so. We have hired them for the job.

They did an excellent job! Their professionalism and quality of work stood out to me.

Robert, the owner, came the same day I called and gave me an estimate. He was very professional and knowledgeable. The price was fair...he even invited me to shop around before commiting. His workers came exactly when promised and did a great job (clearly more than they expected needed to be done...and I was not charged extra). Highlander did a wonderful job and I recommend them without reservation. I will have them back when/if my roof needs replacing.

Met the owner at home show during the Spring 2010. Called for an estimate in July. He came by when my wife was home, walked around the house and left. I have a center hall colonial, tongue and groove sheathing. Never called back with estimate destpite leaving three messages over a period of three weeks. Very unprofessional.

i needed a roof in a hurry. my mothers house was empty and leaking. this guy was amazing, fast, high quality, really nice, easy to work with, clean. i wish he was a general contractor i would hire him for everything.

I received several quotes on installing a new roof on my home. Bob ,the owner of Highlander Roofing, was the only person who, without my having to ask, gave me a written estimate and a list of references.After speaking with several of his references I gave him the job. He showed up on the date that he told me he would. His crew did an excellant job. The work was done in one day. They cleaned up everything. I can only add that Highlander Roofing was by far the most pleasant, painless expience I have had so far in renovating my home.

The job was completed on time , one day and area was clean up with very little problems.

They don't have a receptionist so I had to leave a few voicemail messages before getting a call back, but an appointment was made and was kept right on schedule. I had to call several times to get a date for the work but once I got it, again everything went as planned. I found a few nails in my lawn and in my driveway after the work was completed and showed them to the owner when he came for this check, who took them and apologized. Overall, I got a quality roof job at a fair price.

Fantastic job, no lost tiles or damage at all from all the bad weather over the last year. They patched a few areas that we were still doing construction on and to this date those areas are still dry. Will be calling them back to do the rest of the house when we are ready.

My house is on a hill, and there is a very steep drop off of the front of the house. They were really very careful about it. They have a lot of really good insurance in case somebody should fall. I was worried about that, but they are pretty well covered. They had very skilful workers. They came in and got it all done in a day and a half. They would have done it even faster, but it got dark sooner than they anticipated.

The entire project was handled professionally without any delays, as planned and according to terms of the contract. The property was left clean and all debris hauled away daily.

They were excellent. From start to finish they are very neat and clean up after themselves beautifully. I would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent! The work crew showed up exactly on time, 8:00 am, and by 5:30 the same day the entire job was completed, including the cleanup process. Very professionally done and the roof looks terrific. We are very pleased.

They did the house with 3 peaked roofs, wrap around porch and 2 flat roofs in one day. It took them the second day to do the barn/garage. Everyone else said it would take at least 5 days. They were amazingly professional and efficient. There must have been a crew of 12-15 workers. They had their own truck to cart away the debris. The barn was a bit of a nightmare because there was a hole in the roof which caused a beam to rot away and other rot. They replaced the beam, rotted wood on the barn and on the house where needed and never asked for additional money. If there has ever been a dream job, this is it.

Job was done perfectly. Grounds around house were cleaner than when they arrived. 30 square roof and 4 skylights all done in 1 day. Thanks Bob you have a great crew. Nick was very professional and informative throughout the job.
