We are a family owned and operated business that takes pride in transforming the outdoor living space of our clients. As a third-generation builder, James Oliver grew up in the industry, working with his uncle, and other contractors. While his family focused on general remodeling, Jay as his friends call him was drawn into decking because of his passion for the outdoors, and his love of carpentry. What started with a pickup truck and a helper has grown to be the most reputable and largest installer of decking products on Long Island. Company milestones include being published in the do it yourself line from Sunset Books “The Complete Deck Book,” and being dubbed “Long Island’s King of Decks” in Deck Contractor Magazine. The TREX® Company named Long Island Decking the areas largest TREX® composite decking installer. After collectively working in the construction industry for over 30 years on client projects ranging from the iconic NYC Woolworth Building, Atlantic City Casino/Hotels, high end northeast residential etc, we feel that client experience is paramount. We can say that LI Decking is by far one of the best contractors we’ve worked with over many years and many interactions. So happy we took Jay’s advise with replacing the entire deck which was approximately 30 years old. While demo found 3 supporting posts rotted at the ground. Another registered Trex installer told us we could reface the deck, it would be fine! Thankfully we went with L.I. Decking!! Jay and his team were respectful, punctual and the clean up was on point. Didn’t even know work was in our yard except for seeing our beautiful new deck. Thanks again Jay!!!

Long Island Decking did a fabulous job on our brand new Trex deck. Jay was fantastic to work with from day 1. His professionalism and ease to get in touch with about any question we had made the entire process a pleasure. His manager, Jose and his crew were terrific. All the men were courteous, hard workers that did an incredible job and they were all very respectful of our property. My husband & I would joke about the frame of the deck being strong enough to land a helicopter on!! If you want a professional job then Long Island Decking is the company for you. Long Island Decking did a fabulous job extending my existing deck around a brand new pool. It is hard to believe they are 2 separate decks 10 yrs apart. The craftsmanship of the deck was just amazing. I can honest say I am not sure anyone else could have done a better job. Jay, thanks again for a great job and I am sure I will be working with you guys again

The work was done with care and attention to detail. At the end of the work they cleaned up and I was left with a beautiful deck. I would recommend Long Island decking (LID) the owner personally came and explained the work. I contacted three other professionals before choosing LID but they were all dismissive and did not bother to communicate with me. Only LID took the time to listen to what I wanted done.

I had my deck built by Long Island Decking in 2010. At the time, they worked with me to find a solution so that I could afford the six foot trex deck. I was very happy with the work and the level of professionalism at that time, however, that is not why I’m writing. I’m writing because I called Jay, the owner of LI Decking, about 2 months ago and asked him to come out and look at my deck. The settling over the years had caused it to shift a bit. It was not going anywhere but I needed to make sure. Jay took the job on and his workers completed it today. He called me to let me know the job was complete and I asked when he would stop by for payment. To my complete surprise, he said even though it has been 10 years, he was not charging me for the work! Now this is a business person you can respect. I will definitely tell my neighbors and friends to use LI Decking.

Long Island Decking did a small deck off my backyard back in August of 2010. A piece of the decking came off and some boards needed to be addressed. I called and spoke with Jay Oliver who happened to be the president of the company. He honored the work his company did even after 10 years had elapsed. He came and fixed what was needed and even refused a tip! They totally are a company unlike any others I've dealt with. They totally did the right thing! Great company!

Jay was able to explain the process of building a deck, and compare to other quotes we received. He won our trust, explaining the budget we were working with, and what other projects might look like in the future with what we would build. Jay texted and called frequently on scheduling the build. The crew was really professional, and quick. They addressed questions that I had, and fixed an issue with the door leading onto the deck immediately. Overall, great experience.

A great experience from start to finish. From the initial appointment through installation and post project follow up everything was excellent. Jay was responsive and very helpful. Its funny how things work out as originally we contracted with another deck company who kept delaying our job with excuse after excuse. I got tired of waiting and called LI Decking and they were able to complete the job in the time frame. Its clear the understand the build and design. I could not be happier with the end result.

Great work and an amazing experience. I thought I knew what I wanted, which I explained to Jay. He took one look at the space and the existing deck, took out a catalog and recommended paver stone patio. It took about 20 seconds to agree, that he was absolutely correct. He described the layout and recommended the stones. His recommendations were spot-on, and not the most expensive. A day later, he sent design pictures and the next day the contract was signed. It should be noted, the patio cost significantly less and was significantly larger than the composite deck, I thought I wanted. The installation went as expected and the final result has surpassed all expectations. From start to finish, Jay was true professional. he immediately put me at ease and there was absolutely no pressure to sign. I would highly recommend.
