The finished chair is beautiful, the owners Rob & Eddie, excellent communicators and above all the finished product was done beautifully at a very reasonable cost. I went to the store and picked out swatches I liked.  They came to measure my chairs and advised me on the durability and quality of the different fabrics I had chosen.  I decided to go with the most durable fabric because it resisted stains and could be easily cleaned with water..  They agreed it would work well being that they were dining room chairs.  They ordered the fabric to replace the seats and front and back of each chair.   When the fabric came in, they came and picked up my chairs.  Two weeks later my chairs were perfectly done and delivered.  The wood had been polished,  the seats and backs were replaced with a better quality of foam, the upholstering was perfectly done with the piping beautifully replaced around the seats and front and back of each chair.  My 20 year old chairs look brand new.  I could never have replaced these chairs.  They did an amazing job.  I am so pleased with the level of work done.

The chairs look stunning, I think the upholstery is better now than when I bought the furniture new. They picked up the furniture to be re upholstered and re delivered it when they were ready. The estimate for the time they gave for the work was spot on, and communication through the entire process was first rate.

Ed and Rob of LIS Upholstery were completely professional - always responsive, on time,  and courteous. They did a superb job on my chair; the fabric I gave them had an admittedly difficult pattern and they handled it beautifully. I couldn't be happier with it.  My chair was ready well before estimate.  Their price included pickup and delivery and was very reasonable.  It was a totally positive experience and I would whole-heartedlu recommend them.

I had chosen LIS on the basis of reviews and had them reupholster a chair and generally spruce up the wood.  When that chair came back looking beautiful, I gave them the two rocking chairs.  We discussed thickness of cushions and agreed on the job.  They said it would take them about three weeks, and I was comfortable with that time frame.  The chairs were finished before then.  They were delivered and put into place.  They look  beautiful and are extremely comfortable.

After contacting the company, exchanging calls and emails and sending photos of the chair, Robert and his brother came out. They confirmed what I had read online, namely that recovering the chair would require 5 yards of material.  I purchased the material online and they were cool with that.  When they came to my house, they told me what they would do, how long it would take, and how much it would cost.   I liked their professional yet friendly demeanor.  I didn't feel pressured to buy this or that.  We agreed upon the terms and they took the chair away.  That was a month ago.  Today the chair came back and it is gorgeous.  I gave them two rocking chairs, both of which need cushions, and one of which needs work done to the frame.

I used LIS to reupholster a tub style living room chair. It took a little longer than I hoped, but they did an excellent job. As a matter of fact I was so happy with the outcome that when Rob delivered the first chair, I sent another chair back with him for reupholstering. I would definitely recommend their service.

I am an interior designer and my clients and I have very specific requirements for each piece of work an upholsterer does.  LIS was very sensitive to these requirements and executed them beautifully and on schedule.

As with any workroom I am somewhat flexible with delivery dates because I would rather have the work done right than force a date and have to have work corrected.  I kept in touch with LIS to see how work was progressing and kept my client informed so that we avoided misunderstanding of when work would be finished and delivered. 

Rob and the staff are wonderful to work with and take great pride in their work.  Prices are VERY good for this quality of work.  Because their pick up and delivery is included in the price, their prices come out to be even better.

Detailed work of the cushion covers is just superb! I have used LIS (a family owned business) before for recovering sofas and chairs. They had done an outstanding job in the past and my reason for going back to LIS again. I brought along 3 cushions and material I had purchased elsewhere. The result of the cushion covers couldn't have been done more professionally! The chair legs required to be screwed into place and fixed for permanent stability. All came out in a perfect way! Thank you!

I had a really great experience with them.

All 6 cushions needed springs re-tied as well as new padding and fabric. The work was beautifully done, the price was competitive and the customer service was better than I expected.  They communicated promptly and delivered ahead of schedule.

They took my 73 year old Louis XVI sofa and chair, and rebuilt them from the inside out. Everyone in the shop is very helpful and experienced. They have a VAST array of swatches. Once you pick the one you want, they LITERALLY make your vision a complete and satisfying reality. I PERSONALLY feel considering what they had to work with, the price was more than FAIR. I have contracted them AGAIN and look forward to seeing the finished product.

I am extremely happy with the job, and Eddie is a very nice man. I hope this review brings him lots of business! Here's what happened: I contacted Eddie of LIS after reading the reviews here. He got back to me right away and asked me to email him some photos of my dining room chairs. Once he got them, we spoke on the phone, and he had me measure the chairs so he could give me a ball-park estimate. He obviously knows what he's doing, because he was able to quickly figure out that I needed about 2 or 3 yards of fabric. We discussed whether or not he would provide the material or I would pick it up at a store near me. Since I don't have much time, I decided to get it from him. He told me that people usually come to him to pick material, but I'm in Levittown, and I didn't want to make the trip. I told him that I am not picky, and knew that I wanted a dark color with maybe a small pattern. He told me that he can bring some books for me to choose from which was fine with me. He drove from Astoria to my house on 11/5 with 4 or 5 books with a variety of nice patterns in the colors (neutrals) that I wanted. I picked out a dark brown pattern and he and his partner unscrewed all of the chair pads and took them back to the shop with them. The estimate was very close to the price of $580.00. I needed them back before Thanksgiving, so he said he would rush the order. He kept his word and delivered them today, on the 22nd. They look great!!!

They were great. We went to the shop and picked out the fabric. They came and pick up the couch - which wasn't easy since the couch was long and the front door isn't in the best spot. They delivered the couch when it was finished and it is beautiful.
