We called Meerkat, along with three other pest control operations in the
Capital Region. We got four wildly different assessments of the problem
and price quotes. We decided to go with Meerkat because they inspired
confidence, seeming fairly certain regarding our problem (mice and
flying squirrels). After setting traps, they went through and sealed any
obvious entry points. They also installed a "one-way door" for the
squirrels to leave and not return. They came back just about every three
days to check traps and finally removed everything. The workers were
clean, professional, and cordial. It remains to be seen if the problems
have been fully eradicated, but we are confident.

 The Meerkat staff and crew were patient in explaining everything, professional in their demeanor and friendly and professional to work with. The work is guaranteed and I have no doubt if any of my former guests try to return Meerkat will  be there to greet them. I would without hesitation recommend them to any homeowner doing battle with small furry critters. THANKS MEERKAT!

Did excellent work. They were excellent in all aspects and dealt professionally with unforeseen problems that arose. These guys even put booties over their boots to avoid tracking in mud. Noone should hesitate in hiring this group.

After hearing noises in our attic and a BIG noise in our guest bathroom, I called Meerkat to make an appointment. Rich came  and determined that the we had a flying squirrel(s) that was able to get into our guest bathroom and was living in our attic. He gave us peace of mind that Meerkat would be able to solve our flying squirrel problems and stand behind their work.
Jesse came and determined where the entry points were. He was so thorough and professional! I have to add that we have used other companies over the years. Our house has been sealed and resealed.I feel that if we had used Meerkat and Jesse earlier perhaps the flying squirrels in our guest bathroom and attic would not have returned. 
Matt did a great job sanitizing and checking traps. He also made sure that all entry points were sealed and explained what was done and why. 
All technicians were very professional, knowlegeable and thorough. All appointments times were kept. Phone calls were returned promptly.
 I finally feel confident that we have a long term solution. 
If you need are looking for a pest control company and wildlife removal, this is the company to call!

Good overall, though not very good on follow up on removal of the traps.  The original plan was to seal up and lay traps, then come back within 7-10 days to collect traps.  Took two calls and 4-5 weeks to get them to come back and remove traps.  Not a big deal since the traps were out of the way, but still.

They came very promptly after my first call for a free estimate- I called on  a Wednesday and they came on Friday. . Once I signed the  contract  on a Friday they returned the following Monday to seal up  the house and set traps and a one way door. It was extremely frigid temperatures outside  and snowing but they worked  very hard outside and up on the snow covered roof to resolve the problem.  They returned on Friday to check  the traps  and then they  came back a final time on Monday to remove  the traps and  the one way door and to sanitize  the attic.  The price was not cheap but it was worth it to get these frightening and destructive critters out of our attic. The technicians Jessie and James were both very knowledgeable and polite and understood our worries about having these creepy animals  in our attic- very upsetting!  It is such a relief to have them gone and our attic sealed up to prevent any others from coming in. They also provide a one year warranty  in case we have any further problems.

Chad arrived. I showed him where the bees were. he sprayed. He was very friendly. It was very quick. Chad was professional and courteous.

Went out of their way to replace what i had.

All of the Meerkat employees we met or spoke with were fantastic and we would gladly recommend them to others.

After discovering wood destroying insects in the landscape around the house, and consulting a few different companies, we decided that  Meerkat offered the best plan for our situation.  The difference was that they use a preventative treatment plan so that we wouldn't have to worry about the insects we found outside from entering the house.  The other companies wanted to charge for returning inspections and only treat the house after the insects came in.
The owner came out promptly and inspected the house and the exterior and evaluated the different types of insects that were found in yard.  He even discovered other potential problem insects that we were unaware of and the inspectors from the other companies missed.  He made me feel that this was his problem to deal with now and we didn't have to worry about it any longer.  Within a few days a technician came out and treated the area around the house, fixed any potential entry areas for rodents and also removed a large yellow jacket nest in our attic eaves.  He also gave us advice for making changes to our landscape to discourage any return of insect or rodent activity. Since the treatment we have not seen any return of any of the insects they treated for and have not seen any bees return either.  
The ladies that answer the phones in the office are super nice and always treat me respectfully.  They take all my concerns seriously and listen without trying to rush me off the phone when I call.
They sent a technician out promptly this week to treat for a pavement ant issue unrelated to our initial treatment and it was taken care of quickly and completely.  He was also very nice and respectful and even though it was a minor problem he took it seriously.  All the people at Meerkat are great to work with, very professional and courteous.  I highly recommend them.

When my fiance had first called Meerkat about the raccoon in his attic, they were very prompt and courteous in coming out, explaining what they needed to do - set up a trap outside on his roof - and what might have to happen afterwards. If the raccoon had had kids, they would safely remove them and then chemically clean up and replace the insulation in the attic.
Unfortunately, it took a full month to catch the raccoon. We understand that this isn't necessarily Meerkat's fault and every time we called them to check on the progress, someone was available to stop by, reposition, or re-bait the trap. However, considering this length of time, the raccoon had had a litter and the attic required the full cleanup process. This turned out to be extremely expensive. It was $1100 to catch the raccoon and $3400 for the cleanup - ouch!
In addition, my fiance's house was being rented to tenants and, during the repair work in the attic, someone had stuck their foot through the ceiling. The spot was patched, but not painted, and bags of old insulation were left in the garage. The tenants had no idea what was going on and only when they complained to us were we made aware of the situation. Meerkat picked up the trash, but painted the ceiling a non-matching color and not even the whole room where it was damaged.
While Meerkat was polite every time I spoke to them, this process was long, expensive, and a huge hassle for ourselves and our tenants.

As of writing this review a week after Meerkat's service I am happy with the service they provided. Bedbugs are not an easy pest to clean up, but it appears that Meerkat has done a very good job with the clean up. They inspected the house for signs throughout the house and thoroughly cleaned the rooms that were most likely harbingers of the pests. They arrived right on schedule and were done in the time they projected. The staff member who worked on our house walked me through everything that they would be using for the treatment and what he planned to do while we were out. They provided a detailed list of the work that was done and I hope it was sufficient. I am very happy with the results thus far and the price makes those results seem even better.

Had an emergency. After failing to get a reply from or feel comfortable with the 2 Angie's List Pest Control companies near me, I went to the phone book and found Meerkat. A human answered the phone and the owner came over my house to evaluate the problem. Following day two guys were sent who REALLY knew their business (and were very nice)! Solved the problem and came back several times to check on how it was going. Told me they'd be back again in 6 months to re-inspect. Very thorough and very competent.
