In late May, after looking all over for a suitable mirror for my newly renovated bath, I finally ended up at Frank Webb's in Albany. They had some mirrors that would work--very pricey but I had not found anything else that would work. I ordered them and put down 50%--warned there would be a "restocking fee" if I changed my mind since they were not in stock and had to be ordered. I heard nothing from them for 2 weeks. On June 8 I found better mirrors for $60 each at the Home Depot! I calledd Frank Webb's immediately--at approximately 3:45 pm to cancel my order. No one answered the phone so I left a message. No one called me back to the next day. The woman told me that since it was a Saturday she could not check on the order until Monday since the company would be closed on the weekend. She called Monday and told me that the mirrors had just shipped on Friday (convenient, eh?) so there would be a restocking fee--oh, if only they had called me back on Friday! I asked how much it would be and she said she would check and call me back. She also indicated I also would have to cover the shipping fees I heard nothing again for 2 weeks, so I called them again--June 25. The woman I spoke to told me that the woman I spoke to previously was not in so no one could help me. I indicated that I would like my deposit to be refunded and to learn what the re-stocking shipping fees would be. She said she could not possibly help me since two of her colleagues were on vacation and my order had been cancelled. After insisting she try to find me in her system, she ultimately located the account and said it still had not been cancelled! I asked if there was someone on the premises who might be able to assist me--perhaps a manager? She said she would ask and I left my contact information. When I finally got a call back from the supervisor the next day, she too knew nothing about it. I said I thought it was a very long time to wait for a refund on my deposit--an unreasonably long time. She finally agreed to refund my credit card, sans the 20% ($120) restocking fee--and indicated that she would bill me later for shipping. Well, 3 days later a NEW charge appeared on my card--not a credit! So, I will call again tomorrow--still haven't heard what the shipping fees will be--to find out my total penalty (that is what it feels like) and the time frame for getting an actual refund of my deposit (what is left of it). But my guess is that I will end up paying $200 for nothing but frustration and lack of service. I do realize I was the one who cancelled, but it shouldn't be quite so costly, incovenient and time-consuming to do so. Lesson learned. I will never order anything from Frank Webb Bath Center again.
Description of Work: I ordered two bathroom mirrors from them on May 25.
