I have a U-Line standalone ice maker, which suddenly stopped making ice, so I consulted the U-Line website to find authorized servicers. Of the three in my vicinity, one no longer provides in-home servicing, one had terrible reviews on Angie's List and never answered their phone, and the third was willing to service my unit, but their earliest availability was not for five weeks. I decided to consult Angie's List to see if I could find another appliance repair tech. I called JL Appliance, and to my pleasant surprise, spoke directly with Jerel - the owner - who agreed to come take a look at my ice maker the next day! He quickly and expertly diagnosed the problem, ordered the correct OEM part (which he got in two days) and shortly thereafter - even though it was Labor Day - a holiday - to perform the repair. I was favorably impressed with Jerel's responsiveness, knowledge, pleasant attitude, and willingness to help. He showed me how a previous repair effort on the unit had been done poorly, cutting the wiring harness instead of using the correct connector. Even so, he made quick work of installing the new ice making module. And when he made the repair, he re-routed the water line and added additional sound insulation, which made the unit much quieter, an added bonus that he never even mentioned, until I noticed that the machine was making so much less noise then before! I'm very pleased that I called JL Appliance and received prompt, courteous service, rather than waiting an extra four weeks (with no ice!) for an appointment with the authorized repair rep. I will not hesitate to call Jerel again, should I have need of any appliance repairs.

Jerel sent a text to confirm the appointment in the morning and then Jerel showed up on time. He came fully prepared with parts I might need as well as booties to put over his shoes. He worked cleanly and he was efficient. He also took the time to explain what he was doing step by step. When he finished the repair he tested the machine and also showed me how to keep my machine up and running healthy. This repair went smoothly when normally this would have been extremely stressful. I am so happy I found him. I will never use anyone else.

The whole experience was great. Excellent communication in setting up the appointment and throughout the process. Explained everything clearly and fixed the problem with the dishwasher. Would absolutely recommend!

Stove repaired. However, he found another issue that might have been original cause of spark modular nreaking down and will repair as soon as he gets part.

JL was able to give me a specific arrival time instead of a 5 hour window which I really appreciated. He arrived on time and was very polite, honest and knowledgeable. He was able to fix the broken latch on my washing machine on the same day as his initial visit. He was much easier to work with than a lot of other appliance repair companies that I have hired. I would use him again.

Jerel came out the next morning to look at our tenant's refrigerator that wasn't cooling properly. He determined that we needed to replace 2 parts and went and picked them up right away. The repair was completed in about 1.5 hours.
