The Grass Catchers

I would not recommend using Grass Catchers, nor would we ever use them again. I contacted Mike, the owner, and he said he would come out and look at the front yard for an estimate and would call me with it. I waited all afternoon and did not hear from him. I eventually received a voicemail that he could not locate my house number on my street. I called him back and said that he had the wrong number. He said that this was the number I gave him. Now, I have lived here for two years. I think I know my own address. Instead of just politely saying sorry, he blamed the customer. He said he did look at my house too and gave me a price of $65. I thought this was fair. I scheduled a time for his company to come out on a Monday. On that Monday, two gentlemen showed up and started working. I work from home and my office is in the front of the house. I periodically looked out my window to check on the job being done. Before I knew it, the men were getting ready to leave. The weeds in my rocks were untouched and not all the shrubs were trimmed. I went out front and directed the men to please pull the weeds and trim all of the shrubs as this was included in the $65 estimate. The men finished the work, rang the bell to give me the bill and left. I called Mike a few days later to let him know that I was happy with the work and that I wanted to set up a monthly visit. He said that he was in the area on Mondays and I said that would be fine. He also said the price would be $45. I agreed to the price. Mike also mentioned that he had not received payment yet. I did apologize as my husband was on a different shift and had not had a chance to send out a check. He was paid later that week. It is now well over 6 weeks and after not hearing from Grass Catchers I put out a new request on Home Advisor. Matt W from Grass Catchers responded with an Email asking if he was supposed to do the maintenance. I called the number on the email. Matt answered. I explained that he never came back and it has been in excess of 6 weeks. He a said he did not know he was doing maintenance. I recounted our conversation regarding his being in the area on Mondays and coming to do the maintenance every four weeks. He then yelled at me that he guesses that I don’t need him to do the job. I said I was calling to see if he still wanted the job. However, if that is the way he talks to customers he just talked himself out of it. He hung up on me. Matt is unprofessional in his dealings with his customers and does not accept blame for any of his mistakes. Do not do business with this company.
