Thach, Dr. Allen B.

A+ on all rating measurements. Dr. Thach is outstanding. I did have a long wait on my first visit to the office, but I believe that was because the doctors had 2-3 emergency walk-ins that day.

July 4th weekend 2009: I lost the vision in my right eye. I immediately went to the clinic that had just done my cataract surgeries. Three doctors, all ophthalmologists, examined my eye for three months. Gave me every test they could think of and found nothing.
In October I went to see my optometrist to get new glasses so I could at least see out of my left eye. Dr. Ohriner immediately saw the problem and sent me to see Dr. Thach. Dr. Thach saw that the retina in my right eye was completely detached. He scheduled eye surgery to repair it. He found the damage was too severe to completely return my vision, but he did save the eye itself. I had a second surgery to repair more damage within the next few months. Then we let the eye heal. In 2011 I had the third surgery to complete the repairs. My eye has healed completely and I am doing great. I have very little vision in my right eye but I still have the eye. I cannot thank Dr. Ohriner and Dr Thach enough for the care and concern they gave me.

After the initial appointment, Dr. Thach did a procedure of Visudyne therapy in conjunction with laser to stop a slow leaking of blood vessels adjacent to the macula in my left eye.  The bleeding was as a result of a heretic condition called "juxafovila talangectesia".  He saved the vision in that eye.Five or six years later, I experienced a repid bleed in the right eye.  I called the office and was insrtucted to come to the office immediately.  I was ushered in without waiting and Dr. Thach after examining the eye, taking pictures, elected to perform a different procedure that stopped the bleed.  After two months my vision dramatically improved from 20/200 to 20/70 where it has remained stable.  I cannot thank this highly skilled, very professional physician enough for saving my vision twice.  He is vigilant with my follow up examinations, very caring, has a kind, empathetic approach and explains everything in detail so that you understand what is occuring. I have complete and utter trust in his skill and judgement.  Thank you with all my heart Dr. Thach!!
