Hugo operates one of the best small companies in Las Vegas. The work was exceptional, all dings and cracks in the plaster were fixed. His employees are courteous and hard working.

Hugo came on time to appointment for estimate, emailed estimate as promised the next day.  Set day and time for painting.  Crew arrived on time and Hugo came to manage project.
Very fast and professional work and great attitude of all the crew.  Nice people to do business with!
Next door neighbors also contracted New Age for the next week!
Will use Hugo for stucco painting in the future!

We had recently purchased a home and knew it needed painting.  We were somewhat rushed to have it done because we had out of town guests arriving in 3 weeks.  From our initial purchase on Angie's List  to completion everything went very smooth and timely.  We had requested they schedule us ASAP and although the company is VERY busy they were able to get us in prior to our guest coming.  They were timely and thorough and helpful in finding the right colors.   Even due to weather delays they came through on their word and was able to get the house completed prior to our guests arrival.  The house looks great!  Thank you very much Hugo and thank you Angie's List - I will be using you both again in the future along with referring you to others.

 Our new age experience.

(We owned and did the work for our own paint and drywall business so we KNOW what was supposed to be done and how.)

 # 1.The painter showed up on time but he was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a luggage rack and tied to the luggage rack was a 32' aluminum extension ladder and a 6' a frame ladder this was not a safe or professional way to transport ladders through the city or on the freeway.

# 2 The nice young painter got out and I said,  "Hi. Where is your partner?"

He smiled and said "hello" and this was the first sign that we were not going to be able to converse well due to a language barrier.

#3 When he first stood his ladder up to access the roof, he attempted to extend his ladder using the rope and felt some resistance and rather than looking at the problem and being careful, he attempted to pull harder and as he did I saw that he had hooked the underside of one of our roof tiles and was lifting it out of place. I was able to stop him before he damaged the tile pattern.

#4 I told him that I had 1 and 1/2 gallons of paint with a roller pad submerged in the paint for his use and I wanted him to mix it all together before he started the job so that the paint batch would all have an even color and would touch up nicely. He smiled and nodded and I went inside to tell my wife that I would have to stay outside and keep an eye on the painter. When I came back outside I saw that he had only opened 1 can of paint and had not mixed it all together as I had explained to him (again not able to communicate about basic issues)

#5 I saw him begin to apply the paint on my wood fascia with a 3" brush without even an attempt to prepare the fascia. (The reason we hired a contractor we have peeling 10 year old paint!!!)

I told him to stop what he was doing and come down mix the paint get a roller set up take a scraper and sanding block which I would provide. He did understand this but he was trying to get away with the shortcut if he could. He did proceed to scrape and sand and roll the fascia as I wanted him to do and this was clearly a painter with some experience that just needed to be supervised.

#6 As he started to move his extension ladder around the house I noticed that his ladder did not have the rubber ladder end covers or even a towel or rag tied around the sharp ends to protect from damage to the surface they lean up against and that he had just moved and left gouges in my stucco at the last location the ladder had been. I told him to stop and lay the ladder down so I could put my store bought Werner brand rubber covers on his ladder.

#7 As he stood the ladder back into position I could see he was having a hard time working alone and his ladder hoisting technique was not proper and he was going to end up injuring him self. I told my wife this kid needs some ladder safety and lifting pointers and maybe I should help him. He was getting tired and moved to the next position as I looked at where he had been I saw a 2' return that he had missed brushing in the edges and also a area where the paint was starting to run and he need to move back and fix these area before he continued.

#8 At this point I had to call Hugo the owner and ask him what my discount would be for providing supervision all day for his worker.

Hugo said, "Do you want my worker off your job?" with a strong tone and attitude to which I became angry, and the phone call went downhill from there. Hugo told his young man to leave.

We gave the painter a bottle of water and $20.00 and thanked him for his hard work. He was a nice young man that was sent out without proper direction or support to do the job we had hired New Age to perform. This all took place in the first hour of work.

Hugo did text me after the angry phone call and offered to send a different worker to complete the job at no cost to us but at that point I had seen enough to know that was not a good bargain for us.

New Age was very nice during the estimate, and my wife did tell Hugo that we expected a proper job. I encouraged him to strive to improve in the future.

We contacted another contractor called "Painting Craftsmanship." The owner Lou Lomazzo and his employee Jesse showed up with a truck and ladder rack for safe transportation of ladders. They scraped, sanded, caulked and spackled the entire fascia including the partial area that new age had painted. They even double-coated the areas with most sun exposure. Painting Craftsmanship spent 7 hours with two experienced painters working as a team and working safely and our fascia looks great now. We have a two-story home, and the sides of the house have very high peaks. We paid them $700 and it was worth every penny! We will hire Painting Craftsmanship again and again!

I dealt primarily with the owner who was very professional. In addition, his workers showed up on-time, were very nice, and worked very hard making the exterior of my home look beautiful. Overall, the paint job looks very good;  but now that the paint has dried, I have noticed a few relatively minor quality issues that I am working with the company to get fixed.
