Casey was the technician who came. He told us all that needed to be done. He told us all of the options we have. They came the next day to install the new unit, he stayed there all day in order to make sure everything was working correctly. I am very pleased with them, I even bought a yearly contract.

The technician looked at my AC and gave me an estimate. After he went up, he only had to replace one part so it was much less then the estimate. The technician (I cannot remember his name for the life of me) was polite, professional and even though he had been working all day in the heat, still had a smile on his face.

First two places I called, I had to leave a message, and they never called back.  With these guys, even in mid July I was able to get an appointment on the same day!  The tech called on time, arrived on time.  Very clean and very professional.  Listened to my detailed description of the problem and was able to find quickly that it was the motor.  Adam was a great tech and I would call this company again (they answer the phone).  Adam wasn't annoyed by my many questions, and was very helpful.  It's great to finally have a good AC company to call.

I think I wrote a pretty similar review last year.....I bought the deal, called and scheduled, technician showed up on the date and within the time window stated, done. This year I learned that both of my 14 year old units are drawing excess power (thus making my bills more expensive) and that the condensors need to be replaced. Although I appreciated the assessment and guidance I will deal with the larger electric bill and wait for the unit(s) to die so that my home warranty can cover the cost of the repair/replacement.

Casey had recently serviced my two units (see my prior review  5/29/13 A+) and then several weeks later I had water stains on the ceiling of my upstairs bedroom which I thought must be caused by a leak in the units on the roof right above the bedroom.  Casey checked on the roof and found no leaking and then tried to find a crawl space to an attic in my house so he could investigate further.  Turns out I have no attic. I recently had a new hot water system installed by LOWES so we concluded the leak must be caused by that. (The jury is still out on wether or not that is the problem.) Anyway, Casey was as helpful and courteous as he was on his first visit and he didn't charge me anything since he felt he hadn't helped me solve the problem. Very honest and helpful on both of his visits, I will request him on all future appointments. (I would've written this review sooner but I've been out of town.)

The service tech was very nice and came exactly when they said.  He did perform the requested service.  He then took pictures of the unit and showed a frost on the tubes, which I later found out was from keeping the panel off too long as the air doesn't circulate properly.  I understand that the unit is 15 years old, and not the most efficient by today's standards, but that really scared me.  Felt like I was being "upsold" on new unit and duct cleaning.

I decided to call a couple of other AC companies and have them look at the coil and fan motor before deciding on what to do.  I also spoke with a friend about it and he is the one who stated the coils will show freezing when exposed to the outside air for too long.

At this point, I will probably get a new unit even though they said this one could last a year or 5 years, but the seed has been planted and don't want to face it going out when the temperatures are in the 110 degree range.  I will most likely go with another company that will get a bigger unit for less money and still have a tax credit.

I paid $79.00 through the special on Angie's list but then paid an additional $49.00 for the service provided which would extentd the twice a year service for the $79.00.  Since I am not going to use this company I would like a refund of the $79.00.

Serv Aire was called on Tuesday morning for service.  I tired the original installer of the HVAC unit but they would not come out until Thursday afternoon!  I called Serv Aire mid morning and they said they could come out after 7 PM that day, July 2.  It was over 110 degrees and our A/C, although only 6 years old, was having problems.  Casey showed up about 6 PM and thoroughly diagnosed the A/C unit.  He found a loose duct in the attic and further inspection showed the unit fan was drawing 9.6 amps instead of the designed 8 amps.  Casey said that the fan motor was dying and might last a day or two or perhaps even a week.  I told him to go ahead and order a new on.  The next day I got home about 8 PM (July 3) and Casey was putting in the new fan motor.  He told me that when he got there about 7:30 PM the fan was not turning and it was smoking.  Since the old fan motor was lying on the ground he said to feel it.  Sure enough it was still very hot to the touch!
After Casey repaired the fan and tightened the duct work spot in the attic the house now cools better than it ever has.  The house was new construction in 2007 and has NEVER worked as well.  we are seniors living is a senior community.  I highly recommend Aire Serv for HVAC work.  The price charged includes a fall furnace inspection fee.

This was a second opinion.  Tech requested that he not be told anything about the first opinion so he had no prior knowledge.  He came up with the same diagnosis as 1st opinion but much cheaper.  Gave us free refrigerant to get us through until work could be performed.  Did not try to "sell us the farm", in that sold us only what we needed.  Tech and installer were very professional, easy to talk to and explained things well.  Gave us good warranty, same as 1st opinion, but much cheaper.

This was 1st service of a renewed agreement because I was happy with the service during the past year.  Found some issues with the heat exchanger of one unit that I found mildly troubling, since they had never been noticed/mentioned before?  Professional, answered my questions & came up with a price for the repair that was fairly substanctial, I have not decided on how to proceed as of yet?

Casey the technician for Air Serv Heating and Air Conditioning was schedule to come to our home to provide service on our two Air Conditioners on April 3, 2013 at  8:00 AM.  I called Air Serv at 9:00 am since no one had showed up on the schedule appointment time.  I was told  that he was in a meeting at Air Serv and that he was on his way to our home. I felt if his company had decided to have a meeting on my scheduled time, someone should have called me to let me know, so the time could be rescheduled.  This did not happen. He did not show up until 9:45 AM.
When Casey started checking our Air Conditioners, he said it needed a part that had been installed on the previous Spring service.  It did not need the part since it was working.  The part helps the A/C unit to start up when it comes on.
We had Yorks 10 year warranty on these two A/C units.  Since our 10 year warranty with York has expired.
I felt that now I was going to be told it need parts when they were not required. It gave me an uneasy feeling  since my warranty expired,  that everything was going to go wrong with these two A/C units .  My warranty covered parts and labor at no additional cost, if it need it. I paid $450.00 for each A/C unit for the warranty.  All that was required was, one service per year for this warranty to be implanted. These A/C units have been maintained very well since we have had them.
I have used Air Serv Heating And Air Conditioning for 40 years with excellent service up until now.
I had talked my neighbor across the street to buy this warranty when I did.  Of course her warranty expired the same time as mine. She ask me to scheduled her Spring and Fall service when I scheduled mine.  She had a similar problem as I did with her Spring service.

I am not a Air Conditioning Technician.  I am an Engineer.  I know enough when I am not being told the truth.

We recently moved into our new house and the air coming out of the vents in the Casita was warm, not cool so we wondered if we had a problem with the air conditioner unit.  Having read so many horror stories online regarding HVAC companies telling folks they needed new AC units when all that was needed was a part or simply recharging, made it rather hard to decide whom to call.  After reading numerous reviews on Angies List, combing through several advertisements and searching online, we made a list of the companies that seemed reliable and started calling each one to inquire about their services.  Most either wanted a set fee just to come out to look at the air conditioner (but said they would apply the service call fee to the price of the repair) or were too busy to come out altogether and wanted to book an appt 3 weeks later.  Not knowing what, if anything was wrong with the air conditioner, it seemed like buying a pig in a poke.  Not a good deal, eh?
What was to say if it even needed a repair?  What if just a wire was loose, or if it only need recharging?  Would I be charged $75-$85 for them to come out and tell me that?  Or what if the unit was bad and they wanted thousands of dollars to fix it?  I certainly wouldn't go with the first company I called without checking with others. So saying they would deduct the service call fee from the repair work meant nothing, especially if there wasn't anything to "repair".
When we called Aire Serv, they said they could send someone out that afternoon to take a look at the unit.  The service technician, Greg D., called just before arriving and introduced himself once here.  We explained the problem and told him that the AC system came on, but it seemed to blow warm air and not cool air.  He checked the thermostat settings, then took some readings from the AC vents and the return air vent.  He then went outside to the AC unit and said there was a problem because the compressor was not coming on (even though the fan was).  He said he did not know if the compressor was bad or if it was the capacitor, but he would check.  We asked if he thought all it needed was recharging and he said he didn't know that either, but would check everything.  When he opened the unit, he took some readings from the pipes, then checked some connections and said the capacitor unit was bad.  He shut off the unit and went to his truck and came back with a "good" capacitor, which he then connected to our AC unit.  He also had a hard start kit and explained what he was going to do (connect both and then turn the system back on to see if the compressor would operate with the two devices he just installed). He explained what the each component did and why.  The unit started up again and this time the compressor was operating.  He then went back inside the casita and took the same readings as he had done initially.  He  explained that there should be at least 15 degrees difference between the return air vent and the output air vents (and there was) and we could also FEEL the difference in the room almost immediately.  We asked Greg many questions regarding how the capacitor could have gone bad, what the hard start unit was for, etc. and he patiently explained everything to us.  Greg was extremely knowledgeable regarding how the units worked and very polite and professional.  Because of this we asked him to service our other two AC units to ensure there were no problems with them.  We had no indications that anything was wrong with them, but felt he was very honest and knowledgeable and we would rather have him look at them while he was here rather than take the chance of something happening later and having to call him back.
He performed maintenance on both units and checked the entire HVAC systems, meaning he not only inspected and performed
maintenance on the AC units themselves, but also went up into the attic and did the same for the two furnaces there.  We were extremely satisfied to learn everything looked good.  Because of his explanation of the purpose of the hard start kit as well as the costs to replace a compressor unit, we opted to have him install hard start kits on our other two AC units.  He did not try to upsell these to us, nor did he even imply that they were needed.  He did however tell us that having them could help to prolong the life of the compressor and felt it was a good option for the unit which we had the initial trouble with.  And since that capacitor went bad on that unit and the hard start kit would reduce the AMP draw when called, we decided it would be worth the investment to have them installed on our other units, considering the cost of replacing a compressor, should it go bad.  With him already here, it made sense to us to install then on our other units as well.  Unfortunately, Greg did not have the additional kits on his truck, so he would have to return the next day to install them, which he did.
Because of the positive experience with Greg, we have no doubt we will be using Aire Serv again when it is time to have our furnances checked in the Winter.  We have already told our neighbors (some who had less than satisfactory experiences with other HVAC competitor companies) about Air Serv and how well everything went.  We even asked Greg to leave us some door hangers and business cards that we could share with others because we were so satisfied with his work.  We definitely recommend using Aire Serv; ask for Greg D. as your service technician.  You'll get an honest assessment and excellent work performed, if needed.  Aire Serv also gives Angies List, military service members and senior discounts!

They were very good. They did not charge me other than the $49 big deal. Actually one of my units was not working. It was not giving off cold air because it needed the fluid inside, the Freon. Once they did that, they checked the system and it ran perfectly. They said it was in pristine condition. It just needed some Freon. I was very happy with that. There were two guys, but the main guy was very friendly, polite, informative, and easy to talk to. He made the experience a nice one. The price was very reasonable.

Aire Serv Heating & Air Conditioning were not nice about keeping me posted on their scheduling, it doesn't matter how many times I asked for it, of course when the tech guy would do my houses, the tenants couldn't get hold of me because there were situations there that I need to have my authorization, I didn't know they were there so they couldn't get a hold of me. There's just no communication and the people in the office didn't seem to know that when they schedule, they're supposed to let me know so I wasn't happy with them. I cancelled them. The technicians are good, they are polite and I think they know what they're doing. It's the office staff that I have problems with, no communication whatsoever from them to me. Their main service seems to be reasonable.

The service tech was very prompt and courteous.  He explained what he would be checking and told me what he found at each juncture.  He replaced the batteries in my thermostat; checked the filters in the ceiling and on the A/C unit.  He washed out the A/C unit filters and cleaned the area upon finishing.  He found the unit to be in good working order.  He suggested that I change the filter in the ceiling about every three months and suggested that I use two 24x24 sections instead of cutting the pre-packaged filters.
The tech performed these services in less than one hour and I was very pleased with the results.
I would highly recommend Aire Service to anyone who is in need of A/C service.

Casey showed on time and was very professional and thorough. He was at our house for about 3hrs and found a couple units had been over serviced with R22 so they were adjusted for $240 and one was low on R22. If you have not paid for R22 in a while be prepared, cause we paid $225 for about 1pound. The other charges were $45 a unit for checkup. Overall really liked their style, they give you a written checlist for each unit and he found a couple items that were covered by my home warranty, no high pressure sales stuff at all.

I chose Aire-Serv Heating & Air Conditioning because they are an authorized Amana warranty service company and came highly reviewed in Angie's List. After a little bit of confusion about whether or not the seized blower motor was actually under manufacturer's warranty, the Aire-Serv serviceman determined it was and proceeded with the repair. He located the part quickly, removed the exchange motor, retrieved its replacement from a local wholesale supplier, returned and installed the unit in a little over 3 hours. Aire-Serv's price was about $115 more than another contractor had estimated; however, I used a $75 online coupon from their website and reduced the bill to $215 including tax. I thought having the work done by an established quality service company was work the additional $40 cost. The serviceman was quite courteous, slipped protective socks over his shoes every time he entered my residence, and kept me posted of his progress at all times. Considering some of the horror stories I've heard about HVAC repair companies in the Las Vegas area, Aire-Serv is one outfit you can depend on. If I have any future problems with my HVAC system, I'll be sure to call them.
