Davis Glass & Mirror

I contacted Davis on May 26th to arrange for the replacement of 5 broken windows (Golf Ball damage) in conjunction with my home purchase.  I was not in town, so they had to coordinate with my RE agent and the current homeowner to get access for measurements.  The windows were available to be installed on 6/6, but as the results of several problems with the current homeowner, I had to ask them to hold the windows until after I took title and possession.  Installation was scheduled for 6/28, but I was able to get in and they were able to reschedule on short notice for 6/24.  In short - they were very responsive and flexible to meet my needs. The installer showed up and promptly installed 4 of the 5.  Unfortunately one window was different and that hadn't been caught on the original measurements.  As a result, it had to be reordered and they came back on 6/29 to install the final window.  I appreciate Davis' flexibility and responsiveness to my changing situation, and in the end the job was done right and the price was excellent as well.  I would gladly use them again.

They called when they said they would, and they showed up on time all three times.  Vincent did the installations, and he was very professional and easy to work with. 

The seal of our large picture window was damaged over time causing condensation to form every time it rained or when we washed the windows.  I researched glass replacement companies on Angie's List (as compared to window replacement companies) and decided to call 3 for home visits and estimates to replace the glass of the large window, as well as the two smaller side windows.  We decided to take advantage of newer technology by combining low-E glass with bronze tint glass.  Davis Glass & Mirror actually wasn't the low bid but we liked the company rep due to his knowledge and professional manner.  We also were particularly pleased that he was able to call in to his office and get us a quote within approx. 5 minutes, before he left our home. Once we approved the bid, the Davis Glass office rep stated it would take approx. one week to receive the items from the manufacturer.  We received the call a week plus one day later and scheduled the install.  Three workers appeared on the installation day and completed the job in about 1 hour 45 minutes.  They were all very professional and cleaned up the work site to our satisfaction.  The glass itself is beautiful and the addition of the low-E has made the colors of outdoor plants and landscape more vivid. The only thing we weren't completely pleased with was to find that they reused to same vinyl molding from the old glass.  One installer told us that this molding is typically reused primarily because it is very hard to find (i.e. isn't made much any more).  As of this date, the Davis Glass & Mirror office rep has promised to research a possible source for new vinyl molding.  If found, we plan to have the older molding replaced.

They were professional. They arrived when they said they would to give me the estimate. The employee was friendly and gave me the estimate and went over the time frame for ordering the window and how long I could expect to wait. They took a 50% deposit upfront to order the glass and once the glass was in they called me right away to schedule the install. The installer was right on time and the installation took no time at all. The new window have the exact same grid pattern as the other windows and looks perfect.

excellent service from Vincent and the rest of the guys, they were professional, punctual and at time entertaining, it took about 3 hours to install due mostly to waiting for scaffolding to arrive from another site, I would highly recommend them in the future, they even threw in a door handle for free on my sliding glass door i received 3 estimates from other companies and i heard from the other 2 why this would be such a difficult job or why the glass could not be guaranteed, but not the case with Davis Glass

Excellent job-both windows look brand new and formerly they were in terrible shape. The large replaced window had come apart at the double panes and water and dirt had gotten in between so the window basically rotted. The replaced plexiglass on the other window replaced a cheap plastic cover that had ruined the view etc.

We had four companies perform estimates for the job. Davis Glass sent a polite and timely estimator to our home. Their price was the cheapest at $478 Two other companies where in the ballpark in the $490's, the last was in the low $600's, I think. One of the companies in the $490's wouldn't even come out to measure the windows, we had to bring measurements to him. Since Davis Glass had the lowest price, already had an A on Angie's List, and we liked dealing with them already, we gave them the job. They informed us of when the glass would be ready for installation (the morning of Friday 11/19/2010). Which worked out good because we had somebody coming the next day to install blinds (that way we wouldn't have to pull down the blinds to have them replace the glass). They called the evening of Thursday 11/18 to let us know they accidentally broke one of the panes when loading it on the truck that night for the job the next morning. We let them know that we had blinds coming on Saturday. They said they would do their best to have everything still done on Friday. The next morning they called and said they would be able to install all the replacement glass on Friday afternoon. They arrived at the appointed time in the afternoon and completely the job beautifully. Accidents happen. But I was glad to see that they have excellent communication when problems occur and they went the extra mile to still have the job done on the original install date. I would definitely use Davis Glass again.

The experience was good. They did a good job, it was clean and priced competitively.

Landscaping company dropped ladder through front window. Called David's Glass and they were the only company interested in coming out the next day to help me (called 5 different companies on Angie's List). They estimated a 5-6 day turn around and followed through. Screen replacement was a bit longer but ultimately they did get it installed. Overall had a good experience.

I called Davis Glass and Mirror on Wednesday afternoon, June 16th. I needed an estimate on replacing a window. I was told someone would come out the next day, take the measurements and I would get a call back on the cost. Thursday came and went but no call. Friday afternoon I called to find out why it was taking so long to give me the estimate. I was told "believe it or not you were my next call". I didn't believe it. I now have to wait three more days till I can call another glass company and start the whole process over again. In my opinion Davis Glass and Mirror has very slow response times which translates into poor customer service. To me, customer service is everything!

I found the estimator very courteous and professional, so no problem at all there...both with the estimate and actual work done. Very professional workmanship. The company overall, however, was *very* slow to act on this (took a month to get the screen made and installed and remove the glass). I also had an estimate done on replacing all of my windows with new energy-efficient ones, and it took nearly three weeks just for them to get me a number. I was overall unimpressed enough with them to not plan on using them to do the window replacement job.

They did a really good job. It was a reasonable price because it was a big window. They came and checked it out, gave us a quote, and were here within three days. They were here when they were supposed to be, gave us a call a half hour before, and did what they were supposed to. They were very good.

Davis Glass and Mirror is a trusted company to have when living on a golf course. They come with the right size of glass needed, take the old pane out and replace a nice new pane of glass. They are courteous, kind and always glad to come at the last minute. Their prices are reasonable.

We had to have a new window replaced because vapor had gotten inside the double pane window. They came out to our home and measured for the window. The window was then installed by the service men. They were very respectful for our property.
