A & E ROOFING

I actually like them. They were super busy at the time that I bought the coupon. It probably increases their business. It took awhile for them to get the work done but they came out. He was super honest. He said that my roof was in good shape, which made me happy. He was really nice. He kept in touch with me. He did good work.

It went well.  The company and workers were nice.

Went well.  They took pictures and sent them to me, fixed the roof and gave me a 15 yr warranty on the front stoop.

He completed an inspection and I believe he also sealed some areas. He completed the work quickly. It a fine experience.

Given the price and the details of what needed to be done I wanted a second opinion.
I called a second roofing company that was referred by a friend who is a home builder.  They came and inspected. Their list of what needed to be done was the same!  The difference was the price $500 instead of $1165. Too big of a difference for me to ignore!

A & E ROOFING was professional, punctual and provided great service. We had a an area of our roof that was leaking and needed to be repaired. A&E quickly responded to our request for information about their service and once they arrived they fully explained what repair work was needed and provided pictures.

On July 28, 2014, they spent about an hour on our roof.  The entire roof was inspected for broken tiles and tiles that had slipped from their original location.  They reinstalled several roof tiles that had fallen off and reset the slipped tiles.  They inspected and resealed all roof penetrations as necessary.  Found an infestation of ants under a rake tile (roof edge) and recommended that they be removed and that the area in question be repaired.  The quote for that was $465.00. 
We agreed to that price and on August 20, 2014, a two-man team arrived to do the work.  They showed up on time and began work immediately.  They removed the roof tile from the roof edge to a point approximately 36" to 48" inboard from the roof edge.  They removed the flashing from an existing vent pipe and treated the infested area with insecticide.  They cleaned the roof surface and installed new 30-lb. felt underlayment.  They reinstalled the existing roof tile and new roof flashing at the vent penetration.  They reseated and sealed the existing chimney cap.  They painted all vents and flashings.  They provided before-and-after photographs.  The work is warrantied for five years.  
 A day or so after the work was completed we had quite a heavy rain, and there were no leaks, so the work was obviously done correctly.

It was terrible. He came out to perform an estimate and it was VERY expensive. The cost was close to the cost of a brand new roof.

Went well.  He didn't have enough of the matching color tiles so he came back to ensure that the correct color tiles were replaced to coordinate with existing tiles.  Very professional, courteous and timely.

It went well. Two guys worked on the roof. They spent a long time but fixed everything that wad wrong.

I accepted your offer for a tile roof tune-up and selected the dates as you requested. You confirmed an appointment time at 10:00 on 7/23, but A&E messaged that they wanted to change the appointment time late the evening before. I agreed to the later time, sat at home waiting for them, but they did not show or try to contact me. He contacted me late that evening with a lame excuse and we rescheduled for the morning of 7/24. He did not show again, but came to my house on Friday 7/25 when I was not home. I'm done with them and want my money back. I've enjoyed Angie's List in the past and have found good contractors through it, but these offers and excessive contact from Angie's List will make me leave if they continue.

We will contract for future work when we can afford it.

A&E roofing, from my experience, is an excellent company.  I bought the big deal (tile roof) and arranged for the inspection.  When Jack showed up he completed the inspection (with photos) and we talked about a possible leak that had created a small stain in my ceiling over the past few years.  He went above and beyond and even climbed through my attic to confirm the underside of the leak was at the roof.  We then discussed the options and he provided me a bid to fix the roof.  When the crew showed up they were very professional.  There was even a supervisor who remained on the ground monitoring the team and ensuring they performed the work safely.  I would definitely recommend A&E Roofing.
