Met with the owner Bryan, signed the contract and put down the deposit. Picked out the tile and waited for things to begin. My wife wanted to get a sample of the tile to match the new Kool decking we were going to have done. Bryan argues with my wife about letting my wife have a sample to use for a color match for the decking. Too bad they had done the chipping or we would have cancelled on the spot.
Overall, the workers did a good job, but the only contact I had with this company was when they were charging my credit card for a payment, then when everything was done, the lady called to see if I received my bill, which I had and had paid.
I thought it was interesting that at no time did anyone call from BND to see how we felt the job had been done or if we were satisfied?
My son will be doing his shortly, I really don't know if I could recommend this company or not. If they can't follow up to see how they did on a job with no mistakes or problems, how would they handle a problem?

Response from BND Pool Renovations
"We appreciate your feedback and for giving us an A rating for workmanship. April is the busiest season for our business and we do not have samples to give out. We have several appointments a day and we cannot leave our samples in one house. Our foreman's and supervisor's have visited your property for quality control from the time we drain, chip-out, tile, kool deck. We have to make sure that one step is done right before going to the next, and this is usually done on the field by the foreman on each crew. Our accountant usually checks if the job is completed before making a call to follow-up on the invoices. We apologize for any miscommunication."

Met with the owner, provided initial quote and managed the project from
beginning to end. After 10+ years of living in Las Vegas and working
with various contractors, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend BND to any of
my friends. One of the best experiences, professional, punctual,
accurate and provided great advice to some difficult problems that
existed in my pool.

Currently, the pool is still leaking and we now have a pump service coming to check it out. We were pleased with BND service.

Met with the owner and he explained the whole process and gave a quote...they require an initial deposit, then another deposit in the middle of the job and final payment at the end of the job.  Kept communication the whole time.

BND showed up when they were supposed to, did the work on time, and left without leaving any kind of mess. The only problem was the re-installation of the pool nozzles.

I had these guys replaster the hot tub attacted to my pool. A couple of days later I went diving in the pool to remove debris from the recent thunder storms that blew thru. To my suprise I found a lot of the plaster chips that had been chipped out from the tub in the bottom of my pool.
The second thing I took exception to was that they cleaned out their buckets on my brand new sod. This is not the first time contractors have done this to me so keep a close eye on them or you may end up with dead spots thru out your lawn.
Other than that they were quick and the new plaster looks good. Like children, they can do a good job but need to be watched.
One other thing. After the demolition and before the new plaster a super was suppose to come out and check the job. Somebody  did come by but he never made it to the tub to inspect it. He didn't know that I was home and I watched him the whole time. The dog's were lockked in the house and the key was in the gate as was arranged before so that can't be an excuse.

Both companies sent out an estimator in response to our request. We agreed to the scope of work and estimate, and the work started on July 6th. It was very hot, but the men worked professionally throughout the 105 degree plus days. FIrst they emptied the pool, and chipped out the plaster and the tile. Next, they flagged all the spots that needed special repair attention. Then, the concrete men came to do the deck. They chipped off all the old coating, repaired the cracks and chips in the concrete, coated, painted and sealed the deck and patio in that one day. Next the tile man, Jose, came and did a wonderful job retiling the entire edge of the pool and spa, along with the spillway. He returned the next day and grouted between the tiles. The plasterers then came and installed the two new drains, and plastered the pool and spa. They started the water when finished, and left printed instructions for filling, treating and caring for the new plaster. Darren is the field rep and was very informative and personable. Patty, in the office, kept us apprised of scheduling and arranged for us to go to the tile supplier to pick out our tile in person, so we could see just what we would be getting. Amber at B and D was also very helpful. The men that worked at the house were very professional and polite. It was a very good experience and our backyard and pool look beautiful.

I got estimates from four or five other outfits but this one seemed like the most knowledgeable and like he was well-informed about how it should be done. Also, they gave me the best price and about four other people recommended them to me. They had about ten people in the pool chiseling off the plaster so they were done within about four hours. They had a method to the whole thing, they cleaned up, and they made sure not to disturb anything. The next day, the boss came out and inspected it to make sure they did the job properly. A day or two after that, the whole team came out at about 7:30 in the morning again and went right to work. Everyone had his job and there was a method to the whole thing. The foreman also helped me fix a light that had water inside of it by taking it apart and resealing it. They were great and I am entirely satisfied with them.

The estimator was friendly, dare I say cheery? We got estimates from several companies, all seemed fairly professional. I was worried about the negative review on angies list, but eventually decided to go with BND. I needn't have worried, everything went smoothly and the pool turned out gorgeous and smooth as silk. The owner even came out prior to the replaster to make sure the chip out was done correctly. Very responsive on the phone.

I've lived in the same home with the same pool, and same pool guy for 10 years. My pool was beautiful. Last March (2008) I noticed one area that had a little rust spot and decided it might be time, after 10 years to re-plaster the pool. This group, BND came out gave an estimate and I went ahead. Now 10 months later, my pool surface is filthy with dirt that will not come up with cleaning. Filthy. And rust spots beginning to show in several places around the pool. Someone from the company came out and instead of being a stand up guy and admitting that the illegals he had hired to do the work didn't do a good job, he tried to blame it on my pool guy, wind, etc. Except that as I said, I've had the same guy for 10 years and nothing has changed except the horrific job that has ruined my pool. So, I've contacted the contractors board and will have a hearing upcoming. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this group. Pathetic, gutless, everything you dread when you hire a contractor.

"Member's pool had scale/dirt stuck to it. I demonstrated this to him by lightly sanding the plaster to remove it. Since member was not happy with my response, and did not believe me, I suggested he get another opinion. I suggested he call the State Contractors Board. The Contractors Board went to inspect to pool and came to the same conclusion. We are sorry that member is unhappy with his pool but BND Plastering can't be held responsible to the dirt in his pool. It went great. Their representative, Craig Andrews, came out and prepared an estimate. Over the next week while I was getting quotes from other companies and thinking it over, I was on the phone many times to Craig asking numerous questions. He was always very courteous, friendly and patient with all my questions. Once I made up my mind to use BND, they got started almost immediately and did a wonderful job. They showed up when they said they would and it was finished even faster than they estimated. I'm very happy with the results.

They were very nice people to work with. It just so happened when the work was scheduled to be done it was a week of a deep freeze. This did hold them up a little bit but it wasn't their fault at all. They did come out several times to try to get this done but his machine was froze up. Once the weather straightened up, they did do a good, quality job on my pool.
