On 11/23/13, we ordered a "Dillon" sectional sofa and a set of "EOS" office furniture. The EOS finally was cancelled after two months of non-delivery and much grief in dealing with incompetent people who couldn't find their own records and would tell a different story every time you called. But you can't just cancel -- no, the cancellation must be approved by the store manager. Okay, so where is the manager. She's out, but she will return a call in ten minutes. After two hours, no call back. Who is in charge in her absence? Nobody. Get this -- nobody is in charge when the store manager is out! What kind of business runs like that? However, finally the EOS furniture was cancelled a day or two and several store visits later. The sectional is the issue now. It was delivered timely but had a puncture in one piece that was noted by Bassett's delivery crew; nobody from Bassett ever disputed this. They agreed to replace that piece but have never yet done so. About ten days ago -- when the EOS was cancelled -- the delivery manager (Mark) admitted that he had "dropped the ball" on replacing the piece, and stated that there were no replacements available on the West Coast but there were 53 available on the East Coast. He stated that he would call back in a day or two to reschedule delivery. This call also never happened. You shouldn't have to keep calling the store to get them to do their *#&%& job! We have now had the damaged piece for almost two months and there still is no delivery date for the replacement. But it gets even worse yet! On Friday morning, I called Bassett's national customer service line and explained the situation, and the lady agreed to help. In spite of this, nobody called either Friday or Saturday, not even the national customer service hotline. At this point we are so angry with these people that we want them to just pick up the entire *$*#&** sectional and give us our money back, so we can buy another sectional from a company WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS! This is beyond all question the worst customer service I have ever received in my life! I would NEVER do business with this company EVER again!
Description of Work: Failed to provide accurate or timely updates about the status of backdated order -- failed to provide that half of the order after two months -- delivered leather sectional sofa with a puncture in it, noted by its own people at time of delivery, then failed to replace that within two months despite numerous phone calls and store visits.
