I bought the house in June 2008. The house was 13 years old and had sat unoccupied for 3 years. A professional and personal inspection revealed that there had been no roof leaks. As a precautionary measure, I hired Desert Rose Roofing to seal seams in the flat roof and correct anything that appeared to be deteriorating. I signed a 2 year Guarantee that stated that they were not responsible for interior damage due to leakage. I now understand why they have customers sign this waiver. Since their patch/upgrade work was done, the roof has leaked with every single rainstorm. Areas in ceilings in three separate rooms, carpeting, and a hardwood floor are ruined and need to be repaired. Mr. Gutierrez or his sons came out when I called him after a rain storm to repair the damage in a reasonable amount of time but it continues to leak in different places. I requested half of the $5,000. back that I paid him to cover the cost of the interior repairs but Mr. Gutierrez told me that they would come out to fix any roof leaks, but again, they were not responsible for the interior damage, per the waiver. Although I have a year left on the Guarantee, I now fix the roof myself with tar. It did not leak prior to the patch/upgrade and I am very disappointed, and considerably poorer, with Desert Rose Roofing's work. My only recommendation is to steer clear of this company.
