We HATE used-car dealers and had to really think of how much pain we were willing to go through before contacting this company as they had the vehicle we wanted, near the price we wanted.
We have a three-strike rule when dealing with anything so started down that road.
Jack's website http://www.sweetmotorsales.com/ had the CARFAX for other cars, but not this one, so we called and they promptly sent the CARFAX to us by email and thanked us for letting them know it was not available online (they then also put it there too).

CARFAX showed that this was a good car, unlike all the craigslist cars we had to pay CARFAX for just to find out that the craigslist seller was lying.

We asked Jack over the phone if price was negotiable and if we could register it ourselves, avoiding all those tacked on dealer costs and he said YES.

We took the vehicle for a test drive alone by leaving a copy of my driver's license.

The car was NOT detailed out with all that stinky smelly crap so we there was nothing masked. Jack later told us that he abhors cigarette smell and wants the customer to know what they are buying.

Jack agreed to the cash price we offered him and without all those extra tacked on costs, even though he had to spend an extraordinary amount of time and energy and paper and ink on the paperwork so it would all satisfy all the federal and MVD criteria.

Plus we are protected for all sorts of things, which you would not get with a private seller.
Who knew that I would EVER be recommending a dealer, but I am!
And I will contact him in the future to look for our next used car and avoid all the private weasels and shady dealers masquerading on craigslist as owners.

As a rule of thumb, I'd rather yank out a fingernail than talk to a car salesman. But this was a completely different experience -- I actually walked out of Jack's office happy with the transaction and delighted to have met him.
I found Sweet through a neighbor's recommendation after they came home with a great deal on a used truck. The owner, Jack, was completely forthright about the pros and cons of the vehicles on his lot. His cars are priced very fairly and he also gave us a great price on our trade-ins. I never once felt uncomfortable or like I was getting the run around. I truly couldn't be happier with the experience. He's earned my business and I will certainly see him the next time I'm in the market for a car.
