The house was in need of stucco repair and new elastimaric paint and the parapets were damaged by the hail. Since the parapet damage was covered by insurance and since it would be much more efficient to have the work done at the same time we elected to go ahead with both jobs.
The cost quoted above was split roughly half and half with the roof being paid by insurance proceeds and the stucco and paint out of our pockets. Progreen was very competent in keeping the two jobs separated.
Work took about three week including some short days for rain and wind. Crews arrived around 7:15 and were unfailingly polite and with a few minor exceptions were very good about cleaning up every evening.
Management was responsive and dealt with the few problems very promptly and to our satisfaction.
All in all a very professional job.
"Mr. [Member Name Removed] thank you for your review. We responded to you but never heard from you again. I realize that our response took a few days but we are currently in the middle of a very busy time due to the hail storm. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Sincerely, pro green"
I solicited bids from this company and several others to replace my roof after a recent hail storm.
The GOOD: They were professional and on time to look at my house and provided a bid in line with others I had received. I ultimately decided to go with a different contractor because they warranted their work for a much longer period.
The BAD: AT NO TIME did I give them any written or verbal approval to proceed with the job. Then today I received a call stating that their representative was attempting to pick up a city permit to begin work on my house??? I called them back and explained that I had gone with another bid, at which point I was chided for not being "more up front" with them and letting them know. When I asked why they attempted to proceed with a job with no signed contract, I was told I had provided "verbal" approval by allowing them to drop off a sample book of shingles?
While I am "guilty" of not explicitly calling them and declining their bid, what kind of professional business in this day and age attempts to begin a job with no signed agreement or contract, especially when those documents have to be provided to the mortgage and insurance companies in a situation like this?
I received estimates from four companies for the job, and only Progreen was this presumptuous.
"We at Pro Green take all of our reviews very serious. [Member name removed] I can assure you that we place no blame on anyone but ourselves for not communicating with you in a more timely manner. We went by your home to get the permit form signed. We saw that another company had started work on your home. We attempted to contact you by phone and were not successful. I came down to city hall to find out if anyone had pulled a legal permit on your residence and were informed that in fact one had been provided. As I explained to you on the phone; our company does not need a signed statement but a verbal agreement to have a contract in place. We just have always done business with our community with our honest word and will continue in the future. [Member name removed] you provided us with your insurance papers which we did not ask for. You chose a color of shingles; which was Amber from Owens Corning. We also talked about different types of ventilation for your home. My understanding from our employee Frank is that you also asked if we were still in line to start first or second week of November as we had first talked about. We understood from this information that you had chosen Pro Green as your contractor. Again I want to make it clear that we take full responsibility for the break down in communication or misunderstanding. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you. We will grow as a company and serve our community better. Thank you fro the opportunity you gave us [Member name removed]. Sincerely Art Garibay"
I had a new roof put on about six years ago by another roofing company and had been fighting a leak off and on ever since. During a hard rain in June, the leak came back plus another leak. I decided to get estimates on a roof and Art was the third one I called. He was out the next day to inspect the roof and he said that I really didn't need a new roof and a reseal would fix the problem. I had just had back surgery and couldn't climb the ladder so he took pictures and showed me all the problems. It was about a week before they could get started but Art kept me informed of any delay. After the work was started their was a couple of delays because of weather and previous commitments, but Art always apologized and kept me informed.
The work was excellent, Art and the crew were very professional and the price was right. We have had several very hard rains since the work was performed without any leaks. What more can I say? I would not hesitate to call Art for any future work.
No Follow up what so ever. Problems with overhang on porch not fixed.
"Mrs. [Member name], we apologize for any inconvenience that may have resulted from our quote. When I came to look at the scope of work I informed you that I was going to have your skylights domes custom made by a local company. Its faster and they are better fabricated. Unfortunately as I explained to you the company closed its doors without notice. We looked at installing some from another local provider but they were just a little too small and they may leak. As I explained to you we have contacted companies in Arizona which have provided us with skylights in the past. They are no longer making the size needed for your home. Rawsons building supply has been trying to help us but with no luck. As a token of our appreciation and any inconvenience this may have caused we fixed the leak that your roof had at no cost to you. Again we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will call Rawsons and other companies at this time and remove ourselves from this project. Pro Green"
ProGreen did a complete replacement of our roof and rain gutters and we couldn?t be more satisfied with the job. Art showed us exactly what had to be done and why. They dealt with all the required permits and inspections, detached and reset all the skylights and vents, removed all the existing shingles to expose the deck without leaving a speck of debris and replaced only the plywood decking that was needed ? they didn?t try to stick us with unneeded replacements. The crew at ProGreen was awesome. They worked extremely hard, were very professional and friendly and did an absolutely fantastic job. The job took two and a half full days and the crew actually completely cleaned up the job site EVERY DAY. After the job was over, our patios and areas around the house were actually cleaner than when the job started! Our roof now looks beautiful and the new rain gutters cherry out the house perfectly and are extremely sturdy. We really appreciated ProGreen?s attention to detail and that Art and his crew answered all our questions along the way. We sincerely believe that the quality of ProGreen?s work is second to none. Finally, the cost was completely reasonable and very competitive ? with ProGreen you don?t have to pay a premium to get the best work in the area. We would absolutely recommend ProGreen, without any qualification, to anyone having roofing needs. Thanks ProGreen, Doug Gegax and Betty Jo Randazzo.
