In September of 2021 we accepted a bid to tear off and replace our roof from Erasomos Roofing LLC for estimated cost of $13,836.99. The roof on our house is a flat roof. During the course of the tear off of the original roof, I questioned had they taken off both layers not being familiar with flat roof construction. To demonstrate this a worker put a screwdriver through my roof emerging from my interior ceiling. Once the roof was removed an additional cost of 3,325.00 for replacement of rotten board, etc. Toward the end of the job, the repeated impact on the roof was enough to shake the interior 4x6 beams. When my wife and I looked up we could see the fasteners used for the vent flashing standing proud at least three inches from our ceiling. When I went to inform the job foreman of this, I found him apparently asleep in his truck. They did have somebody repair the ceiling, the repair is noticeable, when I can find the time, I will have to put on a final skim coat, sand, and paint. When this house was built the electrical panel was placed on an exterior wall, prior to the original roof placement the wiring was run along the underlayment and dropped into the house. This was followed by the layers of roof. When the tear off of the old roof was done these wires were exposed then once again covered by the new roof. Coincidently, after the roofer was finished a short developed in my wiring that had to be addressed by my electrician with a cost of $360.00 After the job was completed, I went on the roof to winterize my evaporative cooling units; I found the wiring connections in both units not secured but hanging in place in a haphazard manner. The larger cooling unit was mounted in such a way that you could not remove one of the side panels. There was obvious damage to the top of the unit and there were parts missing. How could the contractor think that I would not see this? When the contractor showed up because of my complaint and tried to remove the side cover and could not. He had his electrician come out and modify the connection so the panel could be removed, he also replaced the damaged part of the housing. Using the fasteners from my shop the electrical was mounted securely. Less than a month after the replacement of the roof, one of our wall heating units was not exhausting carbon monoxide correctly. On 1/29/22 I got up from my bed as a result of passing a kidney stone at 2:30 am. I noticed a smell in the house and used my handheld CO2 meter to check dangerous levels: I found the level to be 60ppm a dangerous level. I called the fire department and they wanted us to leave the house. Instead we turned off the gas to the heater and opened the windows. Because of points of contention with the home warranty company we spent the winter without a heater and still had to spend $400.00 of our own money to get the heater replaced. When I went on the roof to get my units ready for summer, I replaced the damaged housing and missing parts on the one unit. While testing the unit I found that it had a leak that was not there prior to the roof replacement. I also noticed that the unit mounting to the plenum did not seem right. I called a HVAC contractor and when he inspected it; I was told that the unit was mounted incorrectly, that it would have to be remounted and some sheet metal work redone. The estimate for this work is $400.00. I would not recommend and would discourage anyone from using Erasmos Roofing LLC for any residential project.
