We bought our new house in January and immediately started transferring services from our old house. Comcast was one of the services. We had previously used comcast for internet and television. We got online and were able to move the services just fine according to the online program. When the scheduled appointment arrived, the service person came out, knocked on the door and told us that he was unable to put in the services because our property was "unserviceable" and that it would be two weeks to six months before we could have service installed. We contacted customer service and after an hour long and abusive (on their part) conversation we were told that they would send someone out the following week to install services. This process continued every week for 3 months. Ultimately we ended up contacting the corporate office and they told us that the state of new mexico required special permits where our house was located. During these conversations we learned that our house had had services before but that the equipment was out of date and could not be used. Ultimately, we decided to go with Dish network for our television. We had it installed in a matter of a couple of days and without issue. For internet, we increased our data on our cell phones through Verizon. The day after we set up Dish, comcast contacted us and stated that they would be coming out the end of the week to install internet. The service representative installed the internet in about an hour and we have had it since. The internet is dreadfully slow at times and comcast is virtually impossible to get any service out of. They continually blame our house or something that is always unrelated to them. They have yet to follow through on sending someone out to check out any problems. However, due to limited providers we are now stuck with them. I really don't recommend their services.
