U-Haul Moving & Storage at San Mateo

I had called in advance to have a hitch and wiring for trailer lights installed on my mother's SUV.  The person I spoke to was seemingly very knowledgeable as well as nice and professional.  He quoted me a price of less than $200 for the complete installation including parts and a timeframe of 30 minutes to install the parts.  As I needed the vehicle prepared that day it seemed fine.  The person on the phone took a non-refundable deposit of $50 which I felt was a little odd though I didn't mind if it would hold my reservation and parts.  Upon arriving at this location, which was referred to me by a friend, the price jumped up to almost $300.  I was then told that the reservation was made under the wrong model of vehicle.  The first person on the phone must've made a mistake I was told with no apololgy.  Now remember I am out $50 if I walk away and I do need the hitch installed  I then told the counter worker to take off the lighting wiring as I would do it myself at a later date.  This seemed acceptable and the price went down considerably, though still more than I was quoted initially.  I then had to wait 2 hours!  There was no place to sit and no accomodation was offered.  Figuring 30 minutes I didn't plan on leaving the vehicle so I stayed until they were done.  Finally it was done and then the price was back up to almost $300 as they went ahead and installed the wiring for the lights.  I then repeated that I didn't want the lights installed and was given the unpleasant retort of "I can take the wiring off if you want".  That is after I had already waited 2 hours.  I was not happy!  I paid them and left feeling ripped off.  In the future I would not use this location or any other U-haul location.
