Robert was not professional or punctual with regards to communication. He never showed up or contacted us on the day we needed the stumps removed. We were left empty handed and set back many days trying to find another person to perform the work.

Not good - and I perceive him to be dishonest and deceitful and in my experience - operates a business in which oversight and supervision is lacking. I further question his hiring practices, knowledge of codes, and education/training provided to his employees. I contracted with him Feb 10, 2015 and cut him a check for half the agreed price. He called a few days later and told me he had insufficient funds to cover the check (warning sign) and asked if I could provide him additional cash so he could buy initial supplies, etc. - I did. A week later, he told me he was heading to California to see his Aunt (family emergency) and asked if I could pay him the remaining contracted amount to help with his trip - I did. I felt like I was doing the right thing but little did I know I'd be sitting here in July with unresolved issues. The bottom line is once I fronted him all the monies, it was like yanking teeth to get him to complete the work we contracted for - go figure. Additionally, the guys he sent to extend my cinder block wall did not reinforce the extension, did not cap the extension, and actually "bowed" the structure - the men even left work tools and food wrappers inside the cinder block. I have some great pictures of this fine craftsmanship but I can't attach them - but the Attorney General's Office for Consumer Affairs and other business associations will be having a gander. In any event, I had to have another contractor come out, tear down what was built, then re-build the cinder block wall in the proper manner. Robert has told me repeatedly he'll be out with a check for $675 plus the flagstone he promised. The last communication was in May. Draw your own conclusions.

Robert was great, I wanted the big sycamore tree in front of the house pruned so that birds could not roost above our vehicles. Said he wouldn't touch the tree without permission from neighbor whose land this tree set on. I took him over and we talked wtih the neighbor. All was well. There were bushes in the front and a Piñon on the east side of my house that needed trimming and bushes that are recovering from the hard freeze 5-6 years ago. He charged me another $470.00, but it was worth the extra money to get it all cleaned up. They came a little late, but that was due to cold icy roads. That was okay with me. The workers went straight to work cleaning the back yard and clearing all thed trimmings and tree branches. When they were through there, went around to the front and worked out there. The big tree was the last work that they did, and it was done professionally.

Initial visit by the owner was 2/19/15 to view the tree of what work required to be performed. The owner indicated that $400 worth of work will be performed by his workers which the client explained to the owner that tree was too big and it needed to be pruned down, plus the limbs needed to be removed away from the house. On 2/25/15, two workers started trimming the tree and removing the limbs away from the house. All the small branches inside of the tree was trimmed. The work performed was looking good but as it progressed the worker indicated topping the tree was not part of their understanding from the owner. Client asked the workers how much more would it cost to top of the tree, meaning making it even. The provider gave an estimate between $200 to $400. Client told the workers that additional $200 work of work will be paid. Additional trimming was performed but not all the way around the tree. One side of the tree is cut and the other still has big branches. No invoice was provided for the additional $200 paid to the provider.

Robert answered my initial phone call for a quote on a Saturday evening after 5pm and promised to stop by the next day to provide a quote and perform the service if I was okay with the price quoted. I missed Robert's call, but he quoted a great price (less than what I expected based on my research of price) and he promised to come back on Tuesday to complete the job. He finished the work when he said he would and left the bill in my door as I requested. Robert was extremely responsive and timely, and the fact that he just left the bill in my door made me feel like I was back to my roots in small town Iowa. I will certainly use him again in the future and recommend him to my friends and coworkers.

They completed about 15% of the job and they never came back. This was after we gave them half of the money for the job.

We were extremely satiisfied with Robert and his crew. We initially called Robert for an estimate on the work we needed done (old sod and weeds removed; new soil brought in and rototilled, and new sod put in) and he came within a day. He sat down with us and discussed our needs and quoted accurate prices for each stage of the work. He was willing to quote prices for the different stages of the project even though we hadn't decided how much of the work we were going to do ourselves. He accurately measured the yard and gave us what turned out to be accurate estimates of the cost of the new soil and sod. He was very professional and was more concerned that we were going to be satisified with our project rather than how much of a take he was going to get. He went above and beyond trying to be helpful and offered us different choices. We took him up on using his rototiller for a nominal charge. He was very timely, dependable, and accommodating! We decided to put the new soil and sod in ourselves just because we needed the exercise! We will definitely use Robert's Tree Services & hauling again!
