Insurance Agencies
I have been dissatisfied with the agent assigned to my family. When I needed to make a claim, she did not understand which policy covered the incident. (A family member struck a pedestrian on the bike path. Our home owners policy covers this but she reported to through our auto policy). At renewal, my spouse asked to remove our daughter from the policy since she attends college on the East Coast and only visits our home 1-3 times per year for no longer than 3 weeks. The agent said it was impossible (not true) and then instructed my spouse to call the underwriter to discuss. My spouse has no insurance background. It was completely inappropriate--she is receiving a hefty commission and providing no service. Needless to say, a different independent agent will be earning the commission this year.
