Lifescapes Of New Mexico

The initial design and consultation went very well. However, the salesman made so many unkept promises and didn't deliver on them its sickening and the costs just kept adding up. The actual contract for the work was extremely vague so all those promises didn't mean anything and items speced out were changed to their discretion. As soon as construction started, there was problem after problem and mistake after mistake. Also, as soon as construction started it was impossible to get a hold of anyone. For example, in the front yard there is a mature tree that we clearly said to the salesman and construction lead to leave. They try to start taking it down but luckily a family member was around to stop them. Stucco colors were wrong, concrete that should have been squared off are rounded and wavy, wrong rock placed, etc. On top of everything they finished a small portion in 2 weeks but the larger section that should have taken 6 weeks is approaching 6 months. If I had to do the yard over again I would have picked somebody else. The timeline and quality of work are unacceptable.

All in all, the quality of the concrete work was good even though the color is off.  Communication was horrible.  The roof on the pergola looks great but we have had to clean up tar from our expensive flagstone ever since the job was completed.  There is tar running down the trim of the pergola which looks horrible and we have to clean it constantly. Due to the poor customer service we received during the job, we are opting to keep cleaning up the mess until it stops rather than having them come back out.  As a result of having added concrete, they had to raise our gate which was understandable.  The problem was that they raised it but never moved the closure on the house and did not seal the hole from the original closure, we had to do it ourselves.  We also had to fill in the areas around the concrete where the grass had to be removed.  They were supposed to do this but apparently did not have time.  I was told that our little project was interrupting the $80K job they were working on.  My question is if they didn't want the job due to our deadline for completion why did they say it would be no problem.  After one phone call to the person we had been dealing with, I was in tears and had to let my husband deal with them from that point on.  We chose to go with Lifescapes specifically because they assured us that we would be able to have the project complete in a very short amount of time.  Once the contract was signed, that all changed.  Bottom Line:  if you need a specific job done by a specific time frame, don't count on this company to do it!  Be prepared for promises that won't be kept, and ladies, don't let them bully you!

Eric and his team did a wonderful job from start to finish.  We were not sure what we really wanted to do in the front yard. We had grass and it was struggling. Eric showed us several option designs and worked with us patiently as we redesigned and redesigned to our satisfaction. He was also open to our ideas and willing to change things to make sure we are happy.
His landscape manager Jose, worked politely and efficently to complete the work on time. 
Even after the work was completed, both Eric and Jose were calling to make sure all was well and were very responsive when asked to change something.
I would highly reccomend Lifescapes and would use them in the future.

My husband and I needed an extensive retaining wall in our backyard along with a drip system and gravel installation. We received several estimates from many contractors but chose Lifescapes of New Mexico, LLC. because Eric was very personable and we felt comfortable with his working style.  Eric met with us several times as we "fine tuned" the design, always patient, always professional. Eric was responsive to any question we had and believe me, there were many!!  His crew were heard working and respectful. Eric was understanding of our budget and worked within that to provide us with a backyard that we love and can't wait to enjoy this summer......Westside dust free!! LifeScapes provided me with the most unique and beautiful Flagstone I have ever seen.  They built a gas fire pit that we use every night. and lights that really set the mood for us.  They were very attentive during design and created a plan that was exactly what we asked for, and they gave us multiple designs to get everything perfect. We love everything and couldn't be happier! Everyone at Lifescapes was very friendly and hard working.  Highly recommended!
