Chad performed the work I asked and it came out very nice. It required one substantial repair that was done very nicely and then he hand made all the transitions to tile & carpet that came out very nice!

Chad at Classic Floor Designs is great to work with. Very quick response to questions and adjustements with the project. Chad was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure the work was done exactly how I wanted it. There are two reasons to use Classic Wood Floor Designs over "Big Box" Wood Floor installers. 1) Chad is willing to work with you to make sure the project is perfect. He communicates any issues that are going on and gives you options to handle them. You will not get this personal service with anyone else. 2) Chad knows the right way to do things. Many of the "Big Box" installers will pressure you into doing a project a certain way because it is cheaper/faster for them. Don't fall for it! Chad will let you know the right way to get it done and is excellent at communicating the reasons. A++++ Cannot recommend enough.

We highly recommend Chad DeLong and Classic Wood Floor Designs. Chad is a master of his trade. He does beautiful work. We had Chad remove the old carpet in the master bedroom and install a maple hardwood floor. Chad worked quickly and cleaned up at the end of each work day. Plywood sub floor was installed first then maple hardwood nailed to the subfloor. He makes beautiful custom transitions too. We couldn't be more pleased. Thank you, Chad!

Chad responded quickly to my request for estimate. He explained what needed to be done and what it would cost. I have 1950's vintage red oak floors and some areas had developed large splits in the wood. He replaced the boards and refinished them. The wood is a great match. (It is those narrow strips that you don't see in modern wood floors.) He refinished the planks and surrounding boards, so that they match. He worked quickly and professionally and left things very tidy and clean. I am hoping to have him back someday to refinish all of my wood floors. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

We have allergies and need to replace all carpets with wood floors for our two story home. The biggest challenge for the project was to install wood floor on a custom staircase. We spent a lot of time searching for someone who has the experience. We are very happy with our decision to go with Classic Wood Floor Designs. Chad's workmanship is superb and the cost is very reasonable. Chad and his team replaced over 1300 square feet of carpet in our home (including stairs) with real wood and got excellent results: •The workmanship is exceptional. For example to upgrade the stairs Chad took apart a complex banister/rail system for our winding staircase and put it back together flawlessly. •The schedule was complex due to our constraints but at every stage Chad completed the work on time. •There was absolutely no cost overrun. The final bill agreed with the original estimate/proposal to the penny. •At every stage Chad informed us of his plans so we could coordinate our schedule. •By advising us to purchase material from the right sources Chad passed on to us significant savings on material. This was a big, complex project to install wood flooring for our entire home - two levels with a winding staircase. We are very happy and impressed with the quality of the job done and the reasonable cost - a great value. We highly recommend Chad and his team to all of our families and friends.

Chad is a meticulous worker.  He showed up on time every day. cleaned up after himself and even played with our dog!  The flooring he installed is beautiful.  He carefully lined up the boards in the kitchen so they matched the boards in the dining room and installed beautiful new thresholds in the kitchen.  I would happily hire Chad again and recommend his work to anyone who needs wood flooring installed and/or designed. 

Chad is a craftsman. That fact itself will either mean you're the right fit for him, or you aren't. If you want a floor that looks like every other one on HGTV, that you find featured on page 2 of the Shoppers Guide, or is in every circular for a "custom home builder" then I would advise you to run. And far. Because what you'll get is something all together different: a piece of art.

We had a couple thousand square feet of 20 year old carpet that needed to be gone. In its place we needed something that matched not only our aesthetic, but they way in which we use the house. We opted for reclaimed heart pine from Northern Carolina. Chad then hand-beveled all the edges, and installed the floor using walnut plugs. But of course nothing is easy, and Chad had to contend with existing saltillo tiles, curved kivas, aged moulding, and all the other weirdness that accompanies a custom built home. He succeeded in every case: mostly by his indefatigable desire to try whatever might make his work better and his customer happier. A good smattering of just raw skills helps too. Chad's not the cheapest, but what you get for your time and money is something that is truly and uniquely yours. Highly recommended.

Chad was the first person to respond to my request for an estimate.  He came out right away and even worked with me on the price as I was under a tight budget.  He usually only works with hardwoods and I know from seeing pictures of his work that he is capable of much more than I needed.  He dug right in and did the work anyway, giving me good advice about underlayment and the parts of the job I was going to tackle on my own.  I will happily call on Chad again when I need hardwood at my next house.  

Chad was great from start to finish on this project.  We have wanted to install hardwood floors for several years and finally decided to do this project after finding Classic Wood Floor Designs on Angie's List.  Chad is a true craftsman!  The project started on time and he finished on time.  His work is excellent.  The floors are beautiful.

It took 3 weeks to complete the floor preparation and  installation.  Each day my house was left in good order with all mess and tools picked up. He was very conscientious about making sure I had a comfortable place to stay until the next day.  I had to leave out of town and needed to unload the POD prior to going so that I would not be charged for another month.  Chad completed all work as promised prior to my trip.  Chad is very much a perfectionist and wanted to make sure that all details  of the installation were up to his high standards. I would highly recommend him to people who want someone who is going to treat your home as if it was his own!

Chad, the owner, showed up punctually at the agreed upon date, examined the creaking area and explained the procedure to secure the wooden floor to the base where it had been inadequately glued.  We then also discussed the removal of the current finish of a 171 square foot room, a smoothing out of the floor, application of an oil-based stain which we were to select and purchase,  and the finish with an oil-finish semi-gloss as the third and final step.  Since the floor preparation would involve some dust as well as smell, he described  the steps he would take to minimize both through to the final result including clean up.
He then provided a detailed proposal of the project via e-mail and its cost the next day, as well as the stages of payment.  (We do not quibble over pricing when the work is of quality, and in this regard were very satisfied.)
Chad and his assistant performed the various stages of the project professionally. They were always on time and flexible to meet our own schedules. They were both very personable and careful in their explanations in response to our questions..
We were very impressed with their work and are delighted with the results. In sum, we highly recommend their services and would not hesitate to use them again!

Where to start, they replaced all of my baseboards with stained oak. Trimmed all my doorways in stained oak, refinished 5 bedrooms, hallway and living room. My dining room was missing hardwood in this original mossman home. They were able to first find matching 1.5 inch red oak and interleave it with my existing floor. You can NOT tell where old and new is. Its perfectly blended. Then they installed a huge medallion trimmed in walnut and Brazilian cherry. I had them use an industrial coating as I knew I would have a lot of traffic. Came out better than I could imagined.

He always arrived on time, he completed the work within his estimated time frame & when he left every day, you would never have known he was here. Any challenges that may come up, Chad just smiles & takes care of it.

Originally the install was for a walk-in closet floor & one bedroom floor. The workmanship & attention to detail were so outstanding that I asked him to to two additional rooms at this time. Adding a third room after the first of the year.

I have had a lot of work done on my house over the years & without a doubt, Chad is the only wood floor installer you should ever have. Chad is courteous & honest. Chad came every morning and completed the room in 5 days.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  I chose cherry wood.  Chad is a true craftsman. When the painters came, they commented on how beautiful the floor is.  When the wallpaper hanger came, he commented on how beautiful the floor is.  Everyone who has seen it comments on how beautiful the floor is!!

Chad Delong and his crew were professional, they explained everything they would do and the schedule they would keep. They did exactly that and completed their proposed schedule on time and with a very professional good looking project. I have nothing but extremely positive things to say about Chad, Classic Wood Floor Designs and plan on using them again for a small one room project this year.
As a side note, we had a problem with liquid getting under the flooring and warping the wood (no fault of the installation). I contacted Chad; he came out, evaluated the problem, made an appointment and completed the repair at a very reasonable price.
