It went as needed. The service didn't take as long as originally scheduled.

This time, he was doing some trouble shooting on the electrical system and it was a very difficult one. We actually did not pin the problem down, but they kept the car and spent a lot of time fiddling around and they made a house call and didn't charge us. They'll take the time and things to do a job that other people wouldn't.

As most always, the work was able to be completed on the day and approximate time estimated. In this particular case the total cost ended up being $60-$75 more than what had been on original cost estimate (usually the end price is a little closer to the estimate). I believe that some (or most) of this was due to the fact that their parts supplier quoted a price on the timing belt kit incorrectly
In this case, and others over the years, the quality of the work is top-notch. I did end up taking the vehicle back a couple weeks later as I was hearing just a little bit of and quot;belt squeakingand quot; on engine start-ups on cold mornings. They took a look at it and decided to order a different brand of serpentine belt. A few days later I took the vehicle back for the quick belt change-out and have not heard any squeaking since. Everything about the work appears fine.
Overall, having done a lot of business (on probably 6 -7 different vehicles) with Bob and Co. over the last 25 or so years, the primary thing that keeps me returning as one of their customers is trust (which is big when it comes to auto repair). I know that I will get the and quot;straight storyand quot; on what my vehicle does or doesn't need. There have been a number of instances over the years where I'll take one of our vehicles in thinking that it will need some kind of part replaced or something and they will say that and quot;the battery cable was just looseand quot; or something like that. That kind of honesty means so much.
These guys are good, honest people and I know that one way or the other they will get the work completed right (if not on the first trip, then on the second).

My car died. It would turn over but not start. I called Bob Raught's Auto Repair to verify that they would work on an old, obsolete car (95 Saturn station wagon). They said they would, asked what was wrong with it, and recommended a towing company.
Ken called me the next day and told me that the fuel pump was bad and how much it would cost to fix it. When I went to pick up the car, Ken informed me that they were able to purchase a complete fuel assembly for less than just a fuel pump (typically $150 more). So they saved me money and replaced more (to prevent future breakdowns) than expected.

They did an excellent job. I was very pleased with not only the customer service, but the work performed and the price. Ken, the guy running the phones is extremely helpful and friendly. When the bill came out, it was lower than their estimate. They were very honest and straight forward with me. It felt like I was using a good friend, and there was nothing to worry about. I would definitely use them again in the future for my simple service requirements and also for my major body repair work. Call these guys for a great quote!

THIS COMPANY IS WONDERFUL WITH OLD LADIES. THEY ARE VERY TRUSTWORTHY. THEY NEVER TRY TO TALK YOU INTO SOMETHING THAT IS NOT NEEDED AT THE TIME. THEY REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
