AtmosTemp (Berlin) is very professional. They arrived within the pre-determined appointment window and they gave me a call 10 minutes before the truck pulled up, so that I was prepared for the visit. They were tidy and cleaned up the work area before leaving. I have also used Atmostemp over the last 10 years for regular semi-annual heater/air conditioning maintenance and I have never been disappointed. The staff is very knowledgeable and they make an effort to look up (and apply) part warranties in order to save money whenever something breaks. They also installed a new heating/air conditioning system for me in 2007 at a reasonable price.

They are very efficient. Two years ago they put in a new system for you. The guys put in one day and came back the next day to fine tune it until he thought everything was good. They were very thorough in what they did. The service has always been excellent.

I have been using them about 12 years. They seem to have well qualified technicians. The units I have are about 26 years old and they are still working well. I hold them responsible for keeping it working well. If I have any questions or problems, I call them up and they are very responsive. Typically, we schedule an appointment for twice a year. They come out for about an hour to look over the units. In addition to the contract price, you may need to spend money to replace a part.

The technician arrive on time, but began to upsell me on a new complete system as soon as he walked in the front door without even looking at my existing system. I understand that technicians are encouraged to upsell and they are probably incentivized on it but dont insult the customer's intelligence by upselling without looking at the existing system. As soon as we went downstairs to the furnace. I asked the technician to run me through what he does to clean the furnace and he ran me through everything as he did it. And here's where things went further downhill. The technician drilled a hole in the flu and inserted a CO2 monitor probe. He said he was measuring carbon monoxide (CO). After a couple minutes, he appeared concerned at the readings and immediately said I need to shut down the system and open the windows to the house. Being a master-degreed Mechanical Engineer, I asked for more details. He proceeded to say that my CO readings were well above allowable limits in the flu gas and that I needed to immediately replace the system. I asked him if I could look at his meter, he said yes, and I noticed that the engineering units on the meter was PPM of CO2...not CO!! I challenged him that, and he just said "well, CO2 an CO go hand-in-hand." I then proceeded to tell him that I took some grad courses on combustion and I know that combustion exhaust gases contain lots of gases, but I needed to see more proof that the levels were too high to operate the system. After 20 minutes of debate, I gave in and asked that he get a salesman to my house immediately so that I could talk to someone a little more intelligent. I waited a couple hours for the salesperson to arrive, and he spent no time examining the existing system and he went right into quoting a new system. I couldn't get him out of the door fast enough. Long story short is that I'm not a high-maintenance customer and I understand how difficult it is to run a services business...but I didn't appreciate the experience overall. There was zero value add to have an annual service contract, so I immediately canceled and signed on with another HVAC contractor. Terrible experience and luckily I'm technically savvy...my wife would have been raked over the coals.

George came out and measured and showed us several different options. He suggested not going with the zoning at the time since the new high efficient system may help the temperature difference between the two floors. He said it could be added at any time, but if we did not need it why spend the extra money. Scott and Mike came out at the appointed time and installed the new system in one day. It worked great; however, I still felt it needed to be zoned. George came back with Tim and they checked out everything that would be needed. Scott, Mike and Tim came back and installed the dampers and ran the wiring for the sensor to our bedroom. Tim came back the next day and continued to adjust the system to get the air flow to the optimum level. They all did a very professional job and we are very happy with the results.
