Atlas Paving Contractors Inc

We reached out to get estimates from several paving contractors. I was most impressed with Mike's professionalism and knowledge and we chose him for paving our asphalt driveway. His also gave us a good priceas we were also adding a foot onto the width. We required 2 days worth of work (1 for removing the old driveway and then another a couple weeks later to lay the asphalt). Throughout the process, I felt very comfortable with Mike and he kept in constant contact.
Atlas is an example of a local contractor providing a premium service with the customer always in mind. Will definitely recommend to others.

Pretty much all of the paving contractors we contacted were at the same price point, but Atlas put a lot more effort into making certain that the job was done correctly. We did have some problems getting dates set because of inclement weather, but he always managed to call if he had to put it off till a later date. Once on site, they moved fast and professionally, and did not leave any residue anywhere.
If you need your driveway done:
- say NO to the contractor who appears at your door saying that he's doing a job in your neighborhood and has some extra asphalt. A good contractor is not going to have that much extra asphalt, and there is a tight timeline between his getting the asphalt and pouring it.
- Make sure you have a good base of QP or 3/4 stone on the ground, compacted and settled for a few days before the asphalt is laid.

Start to finish was a very positive experience. If you need someone with experience and expertise call Atlas Paving. Mike offered many helpful suggestions and sound advice. He arrived on time and completed the work on schedule with absolute proficiency and no residual mess. I found the price to be fair. The price charged was the price originally quoted. I would definitely call Atlas Paving again.

I was very impressed. They came on time, everyone knew their task and went about it with surgical precision. Water no longer stands near home.

.We had four bids. Both ATLAS PAVING CONTRACTORS and the other company sat with us and talked with us about the different options that we could do to save the money or result in a stronger driveway. Then wrote up the bid in two different ways and each gave us a written bid which I think is important because we received two other bids which were ridiculously low. Then we realised that the last two companies had underestimated the driveway by 2000 sq ft. When you are pouring asphalt that adds up to a whole bunch of money. These guys were both very thorough and very willing to sit down and discuss things with us. Depending on the work we were going to be done it was either going to be around $20000 to $25000. ATLAS PAVING CONTRACTORS returned my call quickly and they were willing to sit down and explain in detail why they made the specific recommendations that they did. It is always nice to call around and get bids but ATLAS PAVING CONTRACTORS seem to be very concerned to do a quality job at a very fair price, at a price which the customer is comfortable with. I think that is company we are leaning towards.

My overall experience with both Atlas paving and Mike, the owner, was absolutely top notch from start to finish. Mike was responsive and thorough from the point where the estimate was provided, all the way through to the finished product. I have a large driveway that was a bit challenging with regard to the angles (lots of rounded edges with belgian block edging) and pitch, but the finished product is flawless. Water runoff is exactly as designed, and the finish is perfect. There is no puddling, low spots, etc., and I couldn't be happier with my experience or the service Atlas Paving provided. A+ !!

Overall everything was completed as promised and at the price quoted.

The responsiveness of the company left a little to be desired. The company's owner did return phone calls, however getting the job scheduled took a few weeks. I appreciated that they did return calls. The owner (Mike) showed up the day before the job was to be completed (7/13) and went over all of the details pertaining to the work they will complete. He said they would begin work promptly at 7:30 A.M. the following day (7/14). They showed up exactly on time as they promised and began working. Per the original quoted work, they were supposed to sawcut a piece of concrete sidewalk in front of my home which overlapped onto the existing driveway. This was to preserve the sidewalk and prevent damage to it. On the day of the work, they used a backhoe to pull up the asphalt driveway, however they forgot to sawcut the sidewalk. When the backhoe lifted up the asphalt, it took the sidewalk with it, and when it came slamming down, it cracked my sidewalk in half. I immediately stopped the work and spoke with Mike. He gave me some pushback because it was the fault of the previous installation. He also said "this is why the other quotes you were given were higher". I didn't appreciate this from the company's owner when it was clearly a fault of theirs. They did resolve the issue by breaking up the sidewalk and pouring down new concrete (at their expense). The job was completed very quickly and they stuck to their schedule. By 3:30 PM they were completed and left the job. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves as well. Overall I would say I am extremely satisfied with the service that Atlas Paving provided. I would definitely recommend them to my friends. It remains to be seen how this driveway will hold up since I can't park on it just yet. But the job was well laid out and they completed the work they set out to do.

Good price, excellent work, honest

Our driveway was probably 40 years old and badly in need of repair, especially after last winter's ice storm. It is large and could hold approximately 7-8 cars. They arrived here at 7:30 a.m. on the dot as promised, and were finished by noon. The work is beautiful, and I would recommend them to anyone. Their estimate was $2000 less than another contractor's who was going to do less than half the work -- only remove the bottom half of our driveway before re-asphalting.

When I called, they made a appointment for a estimate and called that day to see if he, could come early. Which was perfectly fine. He looked at the driveway and gave us an estimate, which was the final price. They showed up on the date and time, that was made for the job. The men who did the job were friendly and professional. The boss was on the job, most of the 8 hours it took to do the job, from start to finish. They cleaned up everything and when they left, you would not have known they were there, except for the yellow tape to keep us off for a couple of days. I would recommend this company to anyone, considering a paving job big or small. Their price was great. We got a estimate of the same price from another company and all they were going to do was put a 2 inch coating of pavement on the existing driveway and extend it 2 feet. And for the same price, as you can see, Atlas did much more.
