Healthy Way did an outstanding job at insuring that my new basement home would be as "water tight" as possible. Several companies provided proposals before I met Michael. His presentation was so meticulous and detail oriented, I knew immediately that this was the company for me. Edgar, the job foreman, had an impeccable work ethic, and made sure that everything was done expertly. Punctual, professional. Office staff were accommodating and accessible, providing quick, pleasant, and thorough follow-up for every phone call. Can't speak more highly of Healthy Way. So grateful for the services they provided, and for their accommodations every step of the way to make sure that I was more than satisfied with the work. Wouldn't have had it any other way. I am a very fussy customer, and Healthy Way exceeded my expectations. My mind is completely at ease knowing that this work could not have been done any better. Strongly recommend them.

It took longer than expected because more problems were found, but the work was done very competently and the workers were very nice to deal with. We had to replace a bathtub and do additional tile and sheet rock work and they were able to do all that, so we didn't have to call in additional help. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs mold remediation.

We have done a lot of work on our house due to water damage. By far Healthy Way was the easiest to work with. They did everything on time. They were so nice. Cleaned up everything after each part of the job...they had to pull out our basement flooring/cement to get to the root of the problem. They sealed up all spaces and nothing was damaged by dust and they cleaned up the entire space when they were finished. Everyone was professional and made the process so easy and less stressful.

Healthy Way went beyond my expectations! The hardest part of the entire process was the permitting process with city hall and they couldn’t have been more helpful in dealing with the municipal bureaucracy. Once that was behind us, the rest of the work was done to the specs provided and within the timeframe estimated. Two thumbs up for sure!

Thomas fallon came to my house with the sales pitch--he said they would get rid of my mold, set up a 6 mil plastic containment area to exit the home, take down all old insulation, put up new insulation, paint the cinder block walls and joists with a sealer so mold wouldn't return, and encapsulate the floor with a 14 mil thick plastic for $10,500. he directed me to watch a youtube video which shows their staff with professional uniforms spraying a white paint. The day scheduled came and it was not their staff but a subcontracted company that installed outdoor stereos. they were unaware of the containment area to be set up and had to call healthy way to see what I was talking about. they ended up setting it up but not at all the way Thomas said they would. they just put it out the window instead of through the hallway, which was important as my wife was getting sick from the stuff.. they took all the old insulation right out the front door with no containment which was SPECIFICLLY promised. then they are ready to leave without doing the floor or an extra 500 square feet of insulation which I paid $500 extra for. when I called the owner--Robert Lafrank--he told me I was never promised either one of these and to read my contract TOO BAD!! he said he would do the floor for an extra $2500 which he said was his cost and he was doing me a favor, but when I checked with several other companies they said $2500 also so it was no favor. then at the last part of the job they were supposed to do mold tests in 4 spots which was in the original proposal, but then they changed it to 3 on the final contract--also they had sent me 4 different contracts to e-sign which they kept changing along the way. they did end up doing the 4 after I complained and they gave me a $250 credit for not finishing the insulation--I did want a credit, I wanted them to finish!!. this is the worst contractor experience I have ever had period!! they are completely unprofessional, deceiving and nasty. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. I now have to hire another person to do the floor encapsulation and feel I was totally ripped off!!--also I will never go to angies list again if this is the kind of people you recomend

"We are sorry you feel this way. The vast majority of our clients are extremely satisfied with their experience with Healthy Way which is why we have 60 “A” reviews with Angie’s list and an “A+” rating with the BBB. Though a good portion of your review is skewed the only additional information we’ll share is that your post-test results for mold came back excellent. If we did everything you said we did that would be impossible. It is very difficult to get such excellent results if the work was not performed as stated in your contract."

Excellent! I am very pleased with the work they have done. The team were prompt, thorough, and displayed professionalism. They went above and beyond the call of duty. They finished the job clean and fair. I put a dehumidifier when completed, and the result up to now? - dry basement, musty odor gone! I am one happy and satisfied customer, i would hire them again, and would recommend them to anyone.

As you consider the right contractor to address your mold issues, I hope you’ll take the time to read my review and consider my experience. Details follow, but the key message is Healthy Way turned a $15,000 proposal to cure my issue into a major $31,000 proposal (which would have cost me $40,000 with additional repairs needed after work was completed). In comparison, I found a highly qualified, nationally recognized mold contractor to address my issue for less than $8,500 with a successful test afterwards. Here are some key details: 1. I agreed to a $2,500 inspection and assessment with HealthyWay to identify the specific source of mold in my basement after an independent test identified high levels of mold in my basement. I provided an $800 deposit. If I contracted with Healthy Way to do the work, the full $2,500 would be credited to this project work, otherwise I would owe the balance. 2. The mold was centralized in a basement crawl space in the back of the house. The lead inspector, Steve, was confident that there was no mold in the walls of my basement along the front of my house and suggested we don’t remove the walls as part of his exploratory because it would not be necessary. However, the inspection team removed only a portion of the debris, leaving the largest amount of debris in the most impacted area. I did not realize this until after the fact because the debris in the crawl space was lodged in the back in a totally dark space. 3. Based on Steve’s inspection, HealthyWay salesperson Brian presented me a proposal for $15,636. As I considered the proposal, Brian contacted me again saying he felt something didn’t feel right with the proposal and he wanted the owner Robert Lanfrank to come and look. 4. When Robert came, he felt the job to address the mold needed to be expanded to include (but not limited to) modifying three 3-year old sump pumps (with double backups), building custom sump drain covers, installing a new french drain system to replace the existing system in the front of the house, adding new french drains around my basement in areas where they were lacking, jackhammering my concrete foundation to place these drains, and installing two commercial grade dehumidifiers – all to address a mold issue that existed in a limited area 5 feet off the ground in a basement crawl space in the back of my house. Steve told me don’t remove the walls because there was no issue. Robert is suggesting that the walls do not need to be opened even though he advised me that the drains around this wall were inferior. Who is right? Robert or Steve? Differing opinions from the same company! 5. Brian then presented me a new proposal for $31,656, more than double the original work estimate. I would have had to spend an additional $6,000 to $9,000 to repair and replace walls and flooring torn up by this newly expanded job, bringing the project to approximately $40,000. 6. Brian also advised me (not suggested – ADVISED) that I needed a fire safety door for in an interior area of my basement and recommended a friend who gave me a quote for a door for $1,750. I subsequently learned from my township that Brian was wrong. While it took two months, the vendor Brian recommended amicably worked out a new price with me for the proper door, saving me $1,000. 7. Following these events, I lost confidence in Healthy Way and was no longer interested in doing business with them. Before I advised Healthy Way, I brought in a second contractor to affirm my concerns. This contractor was prompt, professional, and understood my needs and my objectives. As the owner of the second company said to me, address the issue and test regularly – making adjustments and investing in additional solutions as you need to. I contracted with this vendor who remediated the issue and we tested to successfully find that the mold levels had decreased dramatically to appropriate levels. 8. Besides the $8,500, I had to spend over $700 to bring in a dumpster to remove the debris that Healthy Way failed to remove on the initial inspection. 9. Robert Lanfrank contacted me asking me where I was in my process. I advised him I selected another contractor. He asked for the $1,700 balance and I explained that I incurred significant out of pocket expenses to handle removal of debris that he should have provided as part of his exploratory. He stated that I did not give him the opportunity to cure the issue and that he expected full payment. He sent me a copy of the contract highlighting this clause. Yes, the contract does state what he said. 10. After some back and forth e-mails where Robert was singularly demanding payment, I advised him that I wanted to consult an attorney to ensure there was no other recourse for me separate from this opportunity to cure clause. My attorney wrote a letter to Healthy Way seeking an amicable settlement to my concerns and expenses incurred. When Robert contacted my attorney, he advised her that he is prepared to sue me and not willing to offer any settlement for my costs incurred. I advised my attorney that I would pay Healthy Way which I did. HealthyWay was certainly in the right legally and I fulfilled my contractual obligation by making payment. But based on my experiences shared above, I provide an F rating and encourage to consider this information when assessing Healthy Way for yourself. Would you rather pay $8,000 to address the specific issue you have, or $40,000 not knowing if any or all of this work would make any difference in the final outcome? Personally, I'd rather keep my money in my pocket and spend it only when I need to.

"We are sorry that you feel this way! The vast majority of our 4000+ customers are extremely satisfied. This is reflected in our "A" rating with Angie's list and a "A+" rating with the BBB. We will say that there are many errors and omissions in your review. At Healthy Way we either perform a 100% solution or nothing at all. After personally inspecting your basement, no company could properly address your water and mold issue for only $8000. Due to the health issues you are experiencing, I'd advise you to have your basement retested by an independent company in 3-6 months."

Had Healthy Way scheduled to do a free estimate for work to be done in my basement. Gentleman came during tiime specified. I also had an insurance adjuster coming in and around same time. We went over issue, and what i was looking to possibly have done, and then insurance adjuster showed up. Started talking with him about issue. Worker from Healthy Way said he was going to take measurements and leave me be with the ins adj. Healthy way came back after about 10-15 minutes said he had what he needed and would give me estimate through email. Did not hear back from anyone in a couple of days until someone from company called asking about sending someone out to look at issue. Called them back and was told that "Tom" didn't get everything needed so they would need to send someone back out. I said well he said that he had everything and that i was supposed to get an estimate in the mail. They then came back on the line and said sorry sir, but that employee is no longer with the company so we will need to send someone back out. I told them that i was not taking another day off of work and if they wanted my business they would have to come out either today or tomorrow to look at it which gentleman on phone said he could not do. First review on angie's list is a D. Don't bother with Healthy way...

Tom was very polite and knew his stuff when he came over for the estimate.  Always on time and if he was running late called.    Estimate was very competitive with others after a little bit of going back and forth with provider.   I made sure to be very specific on understanding what was a typical installation as included in the price and what I wanted done.  Worked with Kelly in their office who was very helpful in scheduling and any questions along the way.   They took care of permits and inspections.   They started the job on the promised date.  Full project took about a week.  Stopped over to see progress on first day and noticed some walls were not totally removed as promised.  After crew called back to the office to confirm they finished up as required.    Jackhammered the perimeter floor and installed drain without any issue.  They were able to use existing sump pits with some effort but they did it.  Existing floor tiling cut as straight as possible when trench was dug to allow for replacement tiles after installation.   Could have easily just tore the floor up without regard for owner having to replace but they didn't.  Stuff in basement was covered the best they could but there is a lot of dust with this work.  Fans & filters used to minimize mess.    After completion of work noticed some damage to drop ceiling and some other small issues when I did the final walk thru before final payment.  Spoke with project manager over the phone and described what was wrong.  Foreman and project manager stopped over to see the issues and spent the day correcting everything...going to Home Depot to buy whatever was needed, making repairs, etc.     Things happen during a job but these guys really took care of things the right way to keep the customer happy.  i would definitely recommend Healthy Way for this type work.

The healthy way team was great. ?They showed up when they said they would, were efficient and very professional. ?At one point dust ?was coming up through the floorboards and as soon as I mentioned it they stopped what they were doing and corrected the issue. ?The clean up was great. Very happy with them. ?They weren't the cheapest option, but we are very, very satisfied.
