All City Electrical

I contacted All City Electric through Angie's list and asked for a quote.  I requested a Saturday visit for the quote, and the company accommodated me.  Mike came over exactly on time, and put on shoe covers before walking through our front door, which I thought was very professional. 

We agreed to the quote he gave and scheduled the installation for the next week.  The technician who came was equally professional, and installed the fan very efficiently.  Afterwards, the company sent me a follow up email to thank me for hiring them, and make sure I was happy with the service.  All in all, I thought they were very professional.

I contacted this company based on the reviews on Angie's list. I contacted them to install 8 recessed lights - 6 in the first floor kitchen and 2 in a bedroom on the 2nd floor.Mike was at my house at the fixed time and he was very polite, knowledgeable and quite professional about his work. He quoted me a price that seemed fair so I have him the go ahead. He sent a Joe to do the work who was very polite, courteous and a thorough professional. The job done is of excellent quality and Joe took good care of covering things up to protect them. He also did a good post work cleanup. I would definitely hire them again.

There was confusion over the estimated cost of the job and I certainly would not have continued with this vendor had I realized how much the installation would be.  (There were 2 quotes for 2 jobs and the misunderstanding was totally due to my error.)   When I realized the error, it was a little late. I did call and speak with the vendor at that point but he wasn't very sympathetic and the generator I had ordered was already on its way to the vendor's office.

I didn't realize that I was going to have to roll an extremely heavy cord from the generator (in the garage) to the end of my house (>50 ft I think)  in what will surely be inclement weather.  Had I realized how inconvenient this set up would be, I would have asked for another plan.  In all fairness, they explained this to me but at the time of the explanation I hadn't seen the very heavy cord or realized how inconvenient this is probably going to be.

Aside from the above, they (vendor, workmen and office staff) were very prompt, nice and helpful.  The completed job looks to be very professional.  It passed inspection without a problem.  They cleaned up completely at the completion of the work.  Two workmen cam to my house at 9 am on the day of installation.  One left after unpacking and setting up the generator (1-2 hours?) and the other remained until after 5 pm that day.  He worked very diligently during those hours.

Their leadership was very good, and responsive.  The person that did the work was also very good.  I will definitely use them in the future and will recommend them to friends.

I did not hire this firm since said I needed expensive work that 2 other electricians said I did not need.

The total experience was great overall.  The work was done on time, and professionally.  The workers were very neat, and cleaned up after themselves.

Mike arrived on time for his appointment and was, as usual, courteous and professional.  He donned shoe covers of his own before entering my house to check the interior light switch and the wiring to the outside which ran through the foundation wall in the basement.  He then checked the exterior light fixtures and after some searching and digging he found that the wiring and junction box at the base of one of the lights near our steps had corroded from moisture.  He removed the entire fixture and re-wired the system at that point; afterwards, everything worked fine again.  Total time was about two hours.

They arrived quickly to provide estimates - did that over email ... arrived at the job promptly - showed me the work and cleaned up after themselves.

Overall excellent experience. The electricians were very professional and pleasant. They were prompt and called me 15 minutes prior to coming.  The job took extra time because the hook up to my existing fire alarm was complicated but they charged me the original quoted price and not for the additional time.  I would definitely use them again.

Excellent communication, responding to my request to quote and all related follow up calls.  All City Went promptly to my elderly mother-in-law's house (twice) to quote job, and phoned me with results.
I was unable to proceed with the work due to my mother-in-law's illness, but I will be calling Mike Volpe in the future to reschedule. All City was extra patient and professional in accommodating me and my situation with this elderly person.

This was the third time I've used All City and as on the previous occasions, they show up on-time, are extremely professional and courteous. Everything is cleaned up and they conduct a walk-through after the work is completed to make sure I understand everything they did.

I can't rate these guys high enough and I'm really happy that I found them!

The guys showed up promptly at the time they said they would, and they spent the entire day at my house, working really long and hard to get the job done.  They were very friendly, they thoroughly explained everything they were doing and seemed to do an excellent job, bringing everything up to code and not cutting any corners.  When Mike came to give me the estimate, he took one look and knew just what needed to be done, and he didn't try to sell me extra fixtures or items that I didn't need, like another electrician I called tried to do.  Also, his price was slightly better.  I've had several bad experiences with contractors over the past few years, but All City is a company that I would highly recommend, without a moment's hesitation!

They gave me a window for the technicians arrival. He called before he came and showed up 5 minutes early! He looked at the work I needed done took some measurements and e-mailed a detailed estimate the same evening. The work was scheduled for a week later. Once again the technician was prompt, very professional and cleaned up after themselves. I was very pleased with the service from All-City Electrical.

His workers came to the house on time, which made my mother-in-law very happy. They did a very good job with the installation and cleaned up after they were done. It was a good experience, and we would use their services again.

I requested to be the first stop, which was 9am, and I got the call at around 8am to tell me he's on his way.  When he came in the house, he put on booties to cover his shoes, which is absolutely wonderful b/c I usually walk around the house barefoot.  I pointed out which lights weren't working, which were controlled by a timer/switch and he said it's probably just a bad timer.  He removed the timer, checked to see if the lights worked once he bypassed the timer and when it did, he simply replaced the timer.  I then asked him to change the light fixture at my back deck.  I was thinking of changing out another switch to a timer, but unfortunately he didn't have an extra one.  Overall, I was extremely pleased.

Punctual and professional. Would definately use them again and refer them to my friends and neighbors.

The whole process was very efficient, friendly and professional. I hadn't ever hired an electrician before, but couldn't see what anyone else might have done better than these guys. I would certainly call them again. One small thing I appreciated was that their guy immediately put on booties over his shoes to protect our carpeting, without being asked.

Very professional. The owner came over for an estimate on time. Gave me good pointers on what type of fans to buy etc (this is even before he knew that he got the job). The quote came back as being middle of the road, not the lowest but def far from the highest. Based on the reviews on Angie's list we decided to go with this company. 

On the date of the installation, the guys arrived on time (waited for me since i was away dropping kids to school). They were very professional, knew what they were doing, made sure they didn't damage anything or leave a mess. They were done with everything within 4 hours and put all the furniture back before leaving. what i was most impressed with is that they didn't leave any holes in the ceilings. I had another contractor (highly rated on angie's list) come out to me for an estimate who made it sound like he would have to tear down the ceiling to install the recessed lights and these guys made three tiny (nail size) holes that they filled up and can barely be seen.  All in all an excellent experience and I would definitely use them again and recommend them as well. 

Very well.  The electrician showed up promptly, fixed the situation, tested thoroughly to ensure everything worked correctly, and explained the initial problem very well.

We made appointment and were given a 4 hour window for start time.  The technician was running a bit behind and knew they could not make the stated time so the owner called and notified me ahead of time and apologized; he then made the extra effort to stop by himself and review the requested work to make sure everything would go smoothly when the technician arrived.  In addtion to the performed work stated previously I thought we had larger problems with wiring in two different rooms, the owner pointed out embarrassingly simple item we had overlooked and that no repairs were required.  Both owner and tech were friendly, polite and professional.  Great guys, great team, great work.

They were prompt and professional.  The price was good.  The workmanship seemed to be good.  They had to punch a bunch of holes in the wall and they seemed to have taken some care in the way they did it.  I would use them again in the future too.

No problems whatsoever.......everything addressed by electrician in a professional and efficient manner.

I spoke with Mike via telephone to make arrangements for an in-person estimate for the installation of 4 ceiling fans in a rental apartment in an old building. Mike was very courteous, professional and helpful on the phone and this carried over to his in-person visit as well. He was prompt and professional and extremely thorough in going through the work that would need to be done in order to install the fans. He was careful to point out that in an old structure such as where we live, there are invariably gas pipes above the ceiling that would need to be inactivated, cut and capped in order to complete the installation. Additionally, we were worried about damaging the plaster ceiling medallions during the installation process and Mike was clear and honest based on his experience that damage was a real possibility and that the plaster might require restoration. This candid assessment was very helpful. Additionally, Mike provided a reasonable and fairly priced written estimate with references a few days after the in-person meeting. Ultimately, we decided not to do the installations because of the complexity of work and it didn't seem worth the time and effort since we don't plan to stay in the rental longer than a couple of years. Had we gone ahead, however, we would definitely have selected Mike for the job and we would certainly consider him for any future job.
