They're the best. Whenever we try to get local, nobody get to us back, they're the only one who contacts us back. They come when you call, and do not need to wait for a day for somebody to show up.

On January 26th 2022 I called my local Roto-Rooter and explained that I had a clogged kitchen drain. The woman I spoke with told me that she could have someone out that afternoon. I made the appointment and inquired about their pricing structure. She said that “it depends on the job.” That afternoon the technician showed up. I showed him the problem and he told me that it would cost $565.00. I was shocked and I freely admit that I agreed to the price since our sink could not be used and had also started to leak due to the standing water. I know I could have told them to leave, but I didn’t (had I known the price to free a clogged drain at the outset I certainly would have shopped around). Less than an hour later the problem was solved. The average plumber in Westchester County charges around $175/hour. When I called the local Roto-Rooter this morning and related the above I was told that, “that’s the standard price for a clogged drain ($565.00).” Why were they unable to tell me this when I called initially? She said that it is Roto-Rooter’s policy not to give prices over the phone. I feel that this is a disingenuous business practice that is in place to take advantage of customers who are anxious to have their plumbing problem resolved as soon as possible, before further damage can occur. By the way, the repair took a little less than an hour). This practice is like selling bottled water for exorbitant prices after a hurricane or N-95 masks at the height of the pandemic. I have spoken with RR Corporate and they say that the pricing policy (no range for the price of the repair over the phone) is in place to protect the consumer. I asked how this protects the consumer and got no answer. I spoke with a manager at the Mamaroneck office today. He apologized, was sympathetic and courteous, but told me that his branch is just following corporate policy. I believe that this policy is not only disingenuous, but deceptive as well, and designed to take advantage of consumers who need immediate help and are therefore in a vulnerable position..

Charged us a lot of money, then turned out because the pipe was galvanized, they put a hole in it. But they didn't test it before they left. Leaked into our kitchen. Major water damage. They refused to take any responsibility. Supervisor in Mamaroneck told me it was the contractor's fault, contract told me it was Roto-tooter. These guys are terrible

Very expensive and they take advantage of the situation. Because of Covid they charged $700 for cleaning drain pipe. This would normally cost $150/$200.

I explained over the phone to who I assume is their dispatcher that I needed the main in my single family house snaked to the street and back into the house. I asked for their rates over the phone. They did not disclose rates over the phone nor pointed me towards their website for their rates . Would've saved my time and their technician's time if they told me their absurd rates off the back. 575 to snake a main. That's about an hours worth of work if you milk it. The main in my house is easily accessible. Do not use this company for any residential work.

They charge a lot of money, $575.00 to clean the water line with additional $200.00 to cut the wall to get to the pipe and then the water came out again in July and they came back and apologize and they took the old cap. I see what they can do but there's mold in the basement and I contacted their corporate dept and they're not taking the responsibility and they overpriced.

First-time experience. I had no water flowing in the house and a problem with a whole-home water filter at 8pm. Roto-Rooter and Rafael #340 responded quickly and had everything working by the time he left. Very friendly and explained what the problem was and what he would do to fix it.

I called for service and they said they would come to the house and give an estimate for how much it would be to clean a clogged sink drain. When they arrive the service technician said it’s a flat fee of $500. I wasn’t about to pay $500 for a simple sink drain cleaning. When I called the main office and asked why it was so much they said They always charge a flat fee of $500. When I asked why they didn’t just give me an estimate over the phone they said they don’t give estimate over the phone. So basically this companies is tactic is to not give you an estimate over the phone but show up to the house so you feel like you have to pay an obscene amount. It’s a total scam.

Rafael arrived earlier than expected. He was very professional and the job was clean I had to have a faucet replaced and had to shut the water off at the main. The job was difficult given the placement of the faucet. Rafael did an excellent job. The price was a little steep but not unexpected for an emergency on a Sunday. Would definitely call again.
