AJ Perri

Called AJ Perri for a clogged pipe. If you flushed the toilet or use of the sink, because of the clog, the water would drain into my shower tub. I called AJ Perri, they were very accommodating and came schedule us for an appointment the next day. I was happy because they were running a promotion for clogged drains for only $99 per pipe. Learned now that some promotions come with a larger price tag. The gentleman from AJ Perri came into our house introduced himself very professional with his shoes covered and got right to work. He was at our house for about an hour trying to snake the pipes. He had told us that he feels the clog is in the main drain because he was unable to completely snake the drain through to the street. He recommended that we schedule a pipe inspection with the camera and stated someone will be in contact with us in the next few hours. By the time he was finished we were able to flush the toilets and use the sinks with no problems. About two days later, the clog was back. Another gentleman from AJPerri came to my house on a timely manner. He once again snaked the pipes and some how then clogged my the drain for my tub, there was no more coming up into the tub, but the water could drain either. After explaining this to him about the tub, he then successfully snaked the drain and allowed the water drain properly. Now we come to the part that makes me sick! We had scheduled the pipe inspection on a Sunday so that both my husband and myself were home. Unfortunately, I arrived home after the pipe inspection was performed to a discussion of what needs to be done to fix our problem. The salesman/pipe inspector/ videographer, from AJ Perri then introduced himself and sat down with his binder and explained that he couldn't completely get his camera through our pipes and after several tries said that we have a crushed pipe. He explained that they will have to completely replace the pipes about 10' and then proceeded to address the warranties, coverage, then the price. He quote us about $7400.00 but stated if we sign the contract now he will discount it down to $6800. He said that he can throw in an extra 10' and extend the warranty to 20 years. We then explained that Christmas is only two weeks away and we don't have that kind of money. He said no problem we have financing and proceeded to get approval with our authorization. He can make this situation easier and all we would have to pay is only $133 per month to the finance company. Since we were approved, he then scheduled it for that Thursday. He said he hopes its not to the street because then it will cost us up to $40000.00 since they will need to close the streets and replace the everything. He highly suggested that we only use the toilets and sinks conservatively. So we shipped the kids off the my in-laws and only barely used any sinks, no washing clothes, used the two pees and flush method and prayed it was only going to be for a short period of time. Not realizing these were all complete scare tactics. The next day we called another company A-General Sewer about our problem and requested an estimate for the work. We were verbally told that it will only cost of $3600.00 for what the work we explained over the phone. The were then sending someone over to inspect the pipes the next day. A-General Sewer then came over to inspect with their camera the main pipe and saw absolutely nothing wrong with our pipes. They did see a little dip from where the old septic was replaced to sewer, but he said that the pipe doesn't need to be replaced at this time. They were able to completely see the line all the way to the street and said that it was completely clear. He did say that if and when we would like to replace the pipe, he would be able to do the complete pipe for a fraction of what AJ Perri quoted us. Since then my kids have been back to our house, we have been flushing, showering, cleaning clothes with no problems. So I am grateful for A-General plumbing for being honest and am completely discusted by AJ Perri for putting my family through h*** for one week over a clogged drain that was cleared (I think) on the second day they came out.

Sink backed up on 11/29/2014 called perri inc. that night. Technician Derron arrived Sunday 11/30/2014. Snaked drain two times and still unable to open drain.He explained the problems on old cast iron pipes blocking up and that sometimes they can't be opened and will actually break. He than used a plunger for quite some time and re snaked the drain for a third time which finally opened the drain.Total time spent over two hours. Derron recommended without pressure, Bio Clean a product for monthly maintenance for drains, which I purchased.He honored my coupon for 99 dollars. In summary he did a excellent work, left the area clean, in working order and left me with a positive feeling for his company.

Very well. My mom had misplaced the previous thermostat’s battery pack and we called them in on an emergency basis. They had a new thermostat handy and although not scheduled for that day, since we were due for our annual heater checkup, they just went ahead and did that as well, while they were there.

All ok, we use them every change of season.

I exchanged messages with AJ Perri (the contractor) on same day. I didn't hear back from them so, wanting to make sure we connected within the 48 hour window (which AJ Perri was supposed to do), I called them. I spoke to a person for about 15 minutes providing all the required information. She transferred me to their scheduling department who quickly told me that I live outside their coverage area. Odd, since the voucher specifically lists the county I live in. She told me that several of their other businesses operate in my county, but not drain cleaning. I told her they need to be more specific on the Angie's website. Overall, a very frustrating experience. I request a refund of the $89 ASAP. Thanks.

They were attentive but the technician seemed to be relatively new. He asked me a lot of questions about what he needed to do. I told the owner and they sent out am experienced technician.

My experience was fine. They are convenient and easy to deal with. Their cost is pretty good. Scheduling an appointment was very easy.

They exceeded my expectations. I have been very pleased with them. They were professional. The technicians gave me feasible plans and they were top notch. Each time they were here, they explained their service contract to me but it was not a hard sell. They showed me ways to save some money along the way. Their follow up was also very good.

The maintenance team are courteous and come out any time I need them. They go above and beyond to help me. Scheduling an appointment is fine.

Below, I have attached a letter send to AJ Perri in response to a price quote for services to be performed after a diagnostic was performed to determine the issue. AJ Perri response to my question regarding pricing of the service to be performed. Mr. xxxx, Unfortunately I don?t have this information, we don?t break down prices of parts and labor. It?s a flat rate price that comes from the model number of the furnace which our upper management comes up with the price to allow us to maintain a percentage of profitability so we can operate and stay in business. My response Understood.....Fortunately this issue will be addressed under my "worry free" contract with PSEG. However, I just wanted to pass information on to you that I was able to obtain in the event I would have to resolve this issue with my own financial resources. For the Carrier furnace and model number, I was able to locate the both parts from Sears for $635 and $109 respectively. Given the $1400 approx quote provided by AJ Perri, I find the estimate to be vastly inflated even if includes the labor time of 2 hours (labor time quoted to me by the technician when performing the on site diagnostic). I decided to research this issue further given the multiple statements provided by two different AJ Perry technicians.The first technician told me that it was a venting issue. Subsequently, I was provide two different quotes to fix the issue. The second technician stated the issue was related to the inducer assembly and pressure switch that would cost $2000. I was told not to worry though bc even though the unit was out of warranty, Carrier would honor the parts bc I was a new home owner and I would only be responsible for the labor of $260. While I understand that AJ Perri is in the business of making money, I am glad that I consumers like myself have other means to find out information before proceeding on issues such as this. The takeaway here is to always do your recon work before engaging any of these contractors not just AJ Perri before engaging in work to be performed. We are in a time where information is abundant on anything. Just do the necessary research before proceeding. If you have PSEG as your provider take them up on the "worry free" plan. It is the best investment I have made as a new home owner.

I have been using them sporadically for air conditioning tune-ups over the years. They are a little expensive, but they do exactly what you call them out to do. They are professional and knowledgeable.

I got about 4 estimates and they were the cheapest. They were personable, they did the job in one day once I signed up for it. They were immaculate, they covered everything in the house, and they left the site clean. They had a large team working on it, so things went smoothly. They work as a subcontractor for Costco and Home Depot. Their price was much better compared to any other that we got.

They do excellent work and are very courteous. They do a great job and are respectful of our home. Everything is always done correctly - the first time. They are simply the best. They are more expensive than other companies, but they do the best work.

We had a clogged drain. AJ Perri snaked the drain and seemed to have fixed the problem. The tech claimed that we had wipes and debris in drain, but couldn't really assess the problem because house trap was covered. The tech said that we probably had to have pipe work done, have the floor torn up, that they could do the work and close up floor but would not replace time. It would be cost around $2,000 to $4,000. This being said without an inspection. We were offered a "free" camera inspection which was scheduled and a different person from AJ came out to the house. Before he started we told him no one was tearing up our floor. Well he claimed he "could not" perform the camera inspection and that was end of that story. If a camera inspection "could not be done" why did first tech schedule the inspection. I would have to say the second tech did not want to waste his time. So the the point of this review is to say, if you need a drain snaked call AJ Perri, but be leary when they want to send in a person to perform a "free" camera inspection because if you tell them that you will probably not have the repair done at the time they will run away. I will be happy to spend my money elsewhere and pay for a camera inspection as long as "nonsense" is not brought into my home.

While the overall service went well and we had no complaints about the visit itself, there was some confusion at the business office end of the provider about the voucher that we had purchased from Angie's list. This resulted in erroneous invoices, etc., but the problem did get resolved.

They did a great job and we were very pleased with how efficient they were. They were very polite as well.

Easy to schedule a consultation appointment; a representative (Dean) came to our home and explained our options to us; they promptly scheduled an install date, less than a week (our air condtiioner had conked out mid-summer; they gave us a credit for a service call); installers were professional and the work was completed on time, cleanup was good. Overall, we're very satisfied. It was an expensive upgrade but I believe well worth it

From the beginning AJ Perri was EXTREMELY professional, helpful and responsive. I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours. The technician showed up and was very professional (he came with an apprentice). He inspected one of the toilets that was overflowing and said it should be tuned up. I then asked him about another toilet. He told me the toilet was probably from the 60s but a tune up should get it in working order. The toilet lever has to be held down to produce enough force to flush anything down. He showed me the price for a tune up $340 or so per toilet, SERIOUSLY? Well I had him fix the original problematic toilet downstairs. I then asked are you SURE the other should be tuned up, he said, yes it will help no problem. I went with his expertise of 30 years. He finished it up probably took 10 minutes toilet to fix each toilet. He said well, this toilet is beyond fix. I improved it but it is so old and there is a ton of calcium build up that it will never work great. He said he would be more than happy to install a new toilet and credit the work already done. A new toilet cost $850, really? At this point i felt suckered. He never "lied" but he definitely new this toilet couldn't be fixed. He didn't really do anything different from his original assessment to assessing it after he install the new guts. So what do I pay another $500? I mean I just wanted my money back period. Not to mention the toilet still just runs. I don't know what to do about it. I don't want to pay them $850 when i can go to Home Depot and get a similar toilet for $250 and install myself. I would say buyer beware. I feel with the technicians 30 years of experience he should know that this toilet was beyond repair. He said he has seen these types of toilets and they were top of the line when they first come out but now they are just impossible to maintain. Unfortunately I feel at this point I have thrown away $300+ for a toilet that I will just end up replacing.... ***** Updates as of 10/7 AJ Perri called me to take care of this matter. After discussion with Ashley, they have offered to refund the money spent on the one toilet that wasnt able to be fixed. With that being said, I will 100% use them in the future. In this day and age, customer service is extremely important and they nailed it. I feel comfortable recommending them and using them in the future.
