We got a hold of Ken very easily to have him come and give us his estimate: left him a message on his phone which he responded to within a few hours. He was very thorough in sizing up the scope of the project.

Our floors had been covered by wall to wall carpet dating back to the previous owners of the house. When we took the carpet up we found out why. A large section of the living room floor had no hardwood at all but had been patched with plywood. There were a number of pet stains. The front entryway had a poor quality parquet floor that had worn badly glued to the hardwood beneath. There were holes in the floor where steam radiators had been removed. We also wanted to improve the way the living room and dining room floors transitioned to the kitchen. Everywhere else we wanted general refinishing.

Ken explained how he could interweave new sections of floor where the plywood was. He outlined all the steps of the project. Very importantly for me, he committed to what it would all look like when the job was done, and he said that if anything else came to light while he was working on it he would fix it. 

Ken's expertise was bang on the money every time. Going into the project we were sure we wanted a dark stain. Looking at the qualities of the room, he advised we go lighter. When the project was underway he put down a patch of each stain for us to compare and he was right: the darker stain would have been oppressive. He also talked us through water based vs oil based stains, and we went with water based because of his input. 

The crew working on our floors arrived promptly every day they were scheduled and worked diligently. Ken was frequently on site himself. The work was conducted over four days. Debris from the job was neatly packaged. Clean up inside the house was excellent. And the work itself was just perfect. They did everything they said they would do, and it looks just as good as he said it would look.

Since we were going to paint and do some other repairs we didn't have the crew move all our furniture back into place. The painting etc got interrupted over the winter, and we didn't finish it all until the start of the summer. Six months after the floors had been finished, Ken came back to put back the furniture!

Don't look any further: Bantry is the way to go.

Ken was all his reviews said. His crew were hardworking and efficient. He repaired bad wood and overall did a great job refinishing 100 year old oak floors. I would highly recommend Ken and his crew.

By the time we called Ken we had 3 other companies come in and give us quotes.  Ken was last and was competitive in his pricing but what sold us was that he actually talked us out of adding more to the project.  WHAT?  A contractor helping you save money?  Yup...Ken talked us off the ledge and gave us very good and sound advice.  He wasn't pushy or anything and very professional.  When we did finalize and go ahead with the project he came back with the samples one last time to make sure we were happy with the choice.  He made his final measurements and gave us a tentative start date.  Ken's crew is the nicest bunch of guys you could have working in your home.  Ken was here every day to make sure the work was being performed correctly and make any adjustments.  What I was really impressed with was the fact that every day, and I do mean every day, that Ken was here he made it a point to ask my wife and I if we were happy with the floor.  Even after they started to install it he wanted to make sure that we were happy.  
On the final day of work I noticed a crack in one of the floor planks leading into the kitchen.  My heart sank because I thought it was going to be a huge deal and we had already paid for the work.  Ken assured us that he was going to send someone over to fix the board and within two hours there was someone here repairing it.

Very hard to get a hold of. I decided to give him a shot based on all of the good reviews, and he finally showed up to give me an estimate. He measured everything out and said he would email me an estimate. Never did. This guy is just shady to me. Had he emailed an estimate, I don't think I would even use him.

This guys was honest, professional & nice They refinished my floor and if there were any holes or something they fixed everything! I got a brand new floor! Thanks ken!!!

We were so impressed with Ken and his team and the job they did on our floor, it looks brand new.  The job was completed on time, on budget, with great attention to detail.  The floor also need some repairs and replacement in one area and it blends in seamlessly.
It was a pleasure dealing with Ken, always punctual and returned calls in very a timely manner.  I would and will recommend Ken for anyone looking to have floors refinished.

Ken and his team did an amazing job. Very responsive for a quote, and very prompt and professional when the job started. The guys did a GREAT job sealing everything off from dust, and the sanding and finishing made my floors look absolutely brand new.

The floors look absolutely stunning and the guys from Bantry were great. I'm a chemically sensitive person and I live in the house, so I was nervous about having the floors done and had a million questions. When I met with Ken to do the estimate, he addressed everything before I had a chance to ask a question. I felt very comfortable with Ken's knowledge and expertise and I trusted him almost immediately. I really felt like he would take care of things, and he did. We used a water based finish on the floors and I was on the first floor the whole time, there was absolutely no smell. The floors couldn't look better, they're amazingly beautiful and, obviously, it's very big job sanding and refinishing floors. The whole process couldn't have gone any more smoothly than it did. I didn't have to do a thing. The guys from Bantry took care of everything start to finish.



Like most people I want my floors to look fantastic and really no one looks forward to the disruption and mess involved in refinishing. However, after having used Ken and his guys, the whole process was so painless that I would no longer hesitate to get my floors done at the first sign that they need some maintenance.



I couldn't be happier with the finished product or the whole experience. It all worked out better than I could have hoped.

Excellent job done on time.  Ken even came back to do one last room where furniture had been moved in order to do the rest of the house. Great job.

I called Ken for an estimate to refinish my wood floor in my kitchen and he responded quickly. His estimate was reasonable As he was not the lowest and not the highest but he seemed reliable and knowledgable. I received his quote via email which I appreciated. When I hired him we confirmed the date to start which happened as planned. The team worked hard and long.... They stayed later than expected but it was to assure they finished properly. The job took longer than expected but I am thrilled with the results. Looking back, the communication on my end as well as Ken's end could have been better which would have added clarity to the time frame of the project. I would use Bantry floors again and recommend him to everyone.

Although i used this company over 15 years ago and was excited they were part of Angies List, after his initial visit for an estimate and a subsequent conversation, Ken did not respond to multiple emails and phone calls trying to schedule the job. Guess he has made it big and does not need additional business.

What a pleasure working with Ken.  He contacted me right away and started the job as soon I accepted his proposal.  He was involved and had great people working with him. They cleaned up and worked long hard days.  They finished on time and the floors look beautiful.  Ken even stained the actual floors and help me pick the right color stain.  Job well done and I highly recommend him.

It didn't. I called to hire him. His phone rings but no contact. No voicemail, or service. One of his reviews said they had a hard time contacting him. If I can't even contact him to hire him, what's going to happen when I hire him to do a job? A RED FLAG at the beginning? No thank you. You lost business buddy. This is a warning for anyone else who wants to hire him. If he changes his business approach hey seems worth the hire.

responded same night I placed the call. Set up an appointment for the following evening for an estimate. Was willing to start the job on a saturday to limit the time I needed to take off from work. Day of job Ken helped me move two pieces of furniture I was unable to move by myself prior to his arrival. Job finished today. Matched the floors perfect to the other ones in the house that had been refinished and stained during previous construction in the home. Employees very pleasant and professional. Price was good. I had two other estimates Ken was right in the middle of the range but he was the most accomidating to my needs.

Ken Beagle provided me an estimate of the service for installing the
floors and the house. He is a very professional individual and very
timely. I have to admit it was a bit hard to get hold of him but when we
did he is very helpful. He came over and took the measure at my place
and gave some valuation information. He is a good gentlemen. However,
the price that he was asking for gluing down wood floor was more than 2x
of the standard range that I have heard from other wood installers
including Home Depot and Lowes. He is very expensive. Do you homework
prior to taking him... I have admit that he is professional and a good
person to deal with... if it weren't for the price, I would hired him.
