I could not have hoped for a better experience. Everything from initial estimate to final cleanup of the property was first class. The crew was excellent and very communicative during the process. I will definitely use Rich Tree Service again when the need arises.

THE CEDAR TREES WERE MOSTLY 3/4 DOWN. THE CREW ARRIVED AT APPROXIMATELY 9AM AND PROCEEDED TO TAKE CARE OF THE CEDARS AND THEN THE PINE AND ASH. THE CREW HANDLED THE JOB IN A VERY PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND RICH TREE SERVICE FOR ANY TREE WORK.

working with weather issues, Rich's crews did a good job getting the trees down and cleaning up all the debris.

We got quotes from 4 different firms to do some cleanup. The guy from Rich (Alan) was prompt, polite and thorough. We actually use another tree service for regular maintenance and they recommended that we take down one tree in the back. The price was quite high ($4500) for a 60' Oak. So we decided to call 3 others to see what they would recommend we do. We specifically did not highlight that Oak tree to see if they would find it on their own. (In case our provider was just trying to get more services). If the tree company did bring up the tree, then we discussed. If at the end of the estimate review, they did not notice it, then we brought it up to see what their opinion was. Overall Rich's price was the one of the best (may have been the lowest) but we also felt very comfortable with them and their Angie's List rating was good. They did a good job. Regarding the that Oak tree, they concurred that it could be problematic and we may want to take care of it in the future. So our current company was telling the truth. If we were ever unsatisfied with our regular tree/shrub maintenance, I'd consider switching to Rich. The only reason they get a B in responsiveness is that after we mailed back the estimate to confirm the contract, we did not hear from them for 2 or 3 weeks. So I called to find out what they were doing and then they came out pretty quickly after that.

This is the 2nd time I used Rich Tree service. It was difficult just to get an estimate from anyone in the weeks after Hurricane Sandy, so I felt fortunate just to be able to get someone to show up from any company. The only 'complaint' for lack of a better term in this area is that I never received a call back from Rich Tree Service when I left my information with their main office, but when I reached out to Alan directly, bypassing the office, the response was immediate. While making the rounds of gathering estimates, two other services provided astronomical estimates that I simply was not willing to pay. I was given the estimate on a Friday morning, and told that the work would be done the next day. I was ecstatic. Needless to say; I was even more ecstatic when Alan called me an hour later and informed me that they would be able to do the work that afternoon. The crew showed up as promised and did all of the work in a complete, safe, and efficient manner. Alan even suggested someone I could use to do some work that was outside of the specialty of Rich Tree Service. I will only use these guys going forward for any tree-related work I need done. Solid, reliable and extremely competitive in their pricing even during a period (post Hurricane Sandy) when their services were in high demand.

Job was completed fairly quickly and to a high standard. Some damage was done to the lawn from the truck that was used but they fixed it to the best of their ability. If we were not already planning to redo that area of lawn, we might have been very upset about it...

YOU WOULD BE A FOOL TO USE ANYONE ELSE BESIDES THESE GUYS. This was one of the best experiences I ever had with a company. They were always responsive ... quick with answers ... provide an excellent service ... and at a fair price. The estimator came out as scheduled and gave me a thorough explanation of the work they would perform. He was straight forward and polite to my little boy who was home at the time (you'd be surprised how many companies/contractors we've had come to our house and they are annoyed if kids are around.). I have been shopping around since the hurricane to have this work done ... and everyone had ridiculously inflated prices for this level of work. I've literally talked to about a dozen companies. Rich Tree Service was the first company who offered what i considered a fair estimate for the work I had to have done. And just because they were the cheapest (in this case) the quality did not suffer. Their work and service is unbeatable. These are pros ... not some one-man, uninsured operation. Just goes to show that the other companies' rates are ridiculously high ... probably still trying to unfairly profit off those who suffered hurricane damage. The trees were taken down and they did a top-notch job of cleaning the area. There were hardly any branches/remains left where the trees were! I could not believe they did such a good job of cleaning up. No complaints. They even moved our kids's sandbox out of the way which was no small task in and of itself. I did have a follow-up question about an issue with another tree in the yard affected by the work and Charlie got right back to me ... even after I had paid for the job. They already got another job at my neighbor's house and I have recommended them to others in the neighborhood as well. The suggestion i have (not complaint) is that they could maybe repair divots/ruts made in the yard (at least maybe fill them with some soil). We only had some minor ones in the yard which is fully expected ... but I would have been pleasantly surprised to have seen them filled in.

Alan came out an gave an estimate on Thursday. I submitted the paper worked on Friday, The guy was at my door 8:30am Monday morning. It took him about an hr to grind out 2 huge stumps. Everyone was nice and very helpful.

The estimator arrived exactly as scheduled. He was very professional and courteous providing a detailed written estimate. He also discounted the price with coupons (including an Angies List coupon) without my asking. The estimate was a bit lower than others I received mostly because of the coupons applied. But I was impressed with their promptness and knowledge and mostly, to receive a written estimate. I was called the day before they scheduled me which took me a bit off guard as I didn't have time to plan it around my schedule but since it was a Saturday, it was easier to fit in. The crew arrived very early in the morning and began setting up. I had a tree in my backyard that required a boom truck. They lined my yard with plates to minimize damage to my lawn which I was skeptical about given the weight of a boom truck and that my lawn was soft from rain. Afterwards, I did notice some tire tracks which would have been troublesome if I REALLY cared about my lawn. What did bother me, and the primary reason for the "B" rating for quality is that I found pieces of branches deeply embedded in my lawn and just sticking out of the ground which I consider dangerous. And I couldn't pull them out of the ground with my hand needing some tools to extricate them. The crew was very courteous and professional and otherwise did a great job cleaning up. Since they used a boom truck, versus climbing, and other power equipment to remove the large trunks, the job went very quickly. I was impressed with the care and precision they exhibited in removing the tree between the power lines. They didn't turn the power off and they were very methodical in lowering the limbs to the ground with no damage done to the power lines. They came back Monday to remove the large pieces that they placed on the edge of my front yard. They had a truck with a boom so it was a one man operation - quite impressive to watch. Then a few days later to grind down the stump. I was a bit annoyed that they seemingly took in some side work before completing the job that I was paying them for. But all in all, a very good job and I would definitely use them again in the future.

I had an estimate from another firm which depends totally on climbers. My due diligence also found this contractor to have an insurance policy which was cancelled. I also got an estimate from Rich Tree Service. Rich Tree Service has the equipment to do any job and is fully insured. They brought in a crane, grinders, stump grinders, power equipment to move logs around. If you have a small job any insured contractor would do. A big job should be left to the professionals and Rich Tree Service is one. I would highly recommend them and would not think twice about using them again in the future.

Overall it was a good experience and we would use this company again.

Fantastic work by entire crew. Trees were removed on day 1. Stumps were removed on day 3. (rain occurred on day 2 so we had to hold out until rain stopped). Trees removed down to stump and then stumps were fully ground down. All tree materials removed except for the mulch provided by stump grinding. It might be nice to add the additional service of removing mulch left by grinding the stumps but it is not currently offered.

I would def recommend them to anyone. I was really happy with their service.

Rich Tree Service was great. I received a call back from the estimator within a day and had work completed quickly. I had 2 trees that fell down during Sandy and the company who cut them down for me didn't remove the stumps. Rich's can in and removed both stumps and took down a smaller tree. Very happy with their service

Hurricane Sandy caused a huge branch from my tree to break off and bring down the fence in my yard, plus impaled my neighbors car hood!! I was uncertain whether to take the tree down or have it pruned. I phoned Rich's Tree Service on 2/28/13 to make an appointment for an estimate. Estimator phoned me (1) day later, and I saw him on 3/4/13. I made my decision to save the tree, and sent in the signed contract. The office called me and the work was done on 3/18/13. All debris was removed from my yard, and I can't wait to see how my tree looks when in full bloom. I am very happy with the level of service provided. Will absolutely use them again, if needed.

Over the phone the guy was pretty good and prompt in terms of timing. They came in and did what they were supposed to but then didn't follow up about additional work.

They were very good. Their pricing was good. It was the most comprehensive in his evaluation of the trees that needed to be pruned. And, he was the least expensive.

We contacted Rich's tree service in early February and they were quick to call back, come to our house and give us an estimate. Once I received the estimate, I signed and returned it and they received it on the 18th. Once they had the signed contract though there seemed to be a series of miscommunications such that my wife stayed home to see them on the original day we thought they were coming, then learned that we were never scheduled and then finally only learned that they were here on the 4th when we received the bill a couple days later. This is the only reason I don't give them an A grade because of all these miscommunications and the fact that we were never told what day they were going to be here. With that said, I do think they did a great job of what we asked them to do, they were always polite when we did talk to them and I felt that their price was eminently fair as well.

I spoke to Alan from Rich Tree service, he provided a competive price and was professional in all aspects. I signed the contract and the work was done within a couple of days, everything went smoothly and they left the property clean and neat. I would recommend them.

They came out to give me a price quote within 2 days of my phone call. Their price was $200 cheaper than all the other quotes I had received. They came the following week to remove the tree. The guys were fast professional. They cut the tree the first day and were done within 2 hours. They came back the next day to removed the really big pieces of the trunk and then they came back a few days later to grind the stump. I highly recommend them.

Called to get estimate and they were out within a couple days. We liked the price so we scheduled an appointment and they came out the same day to due the work. We had the tree and broken limb removed as well as the stumped grinded out. We were very satisfied with the work and timeliness. I had been calling around to companies for months after the storm to get some out to assess the work but could not get anyone to come out due to wait lists or was given a quote that was 3x the price this company charged.

I had a lot of damage after Hurricane Sandy and some of the branches were just hanging. They came when I called them and set a date to do my work and it was done then. They cleaned up very well afterwards; they were great.

The sales rep was prompt in addressing my needs. We met in person and discussed the options for tree removal (removal only vs. stump grinding). The service was scheduled promptly and the staff was friendly and easy to deal with. The stump grinding was done on a separate day; despite the demand, I didn't need to wait very long. The price was reasonable and competitive for the services performed. I would not hesitate to use this company again, and I have recommended them to others.
