Customer satisfaction is extremely important, only the best materials are used on all projects, no cutting corners is allowed on any job. Licensed electricians and plumbers are used on all re-modeling projects. We welcome all township inspections, We try harder. Labor cost for To-Do-Lists are $125.00 per hour plus materials and sales tax, with a minimum of 1 hour. After the first hour, we bill in 15 minute increments.. (Please be advised), when a member is paying by the hour, I take that very seriously, we do not sit around and take breaks. When we arrive at your home, we get right to work and get your list done as fast as possible, keeping Quality at the top of our list. After getting your list together,I will Tell you what materials will be needed to complete the project, I will pick them up on my own time, this helps to save you money, it is important to have the proper materials on site to get the job done right. Additional items not on the list, may need to be re-scheduled if I do not have the materials on my truck at that time, or if other members are scheduled for that day. If you e-mail me a list of your projects, I may be able to e-mail you an approximate cost to complete your list of projects from my office and give you a ball part estimate of the time it will take to complete. Both cost and time estimates, are dependent on whether or not I find additional damage while making the repairs to your home. I take my business very seriously, the customer must be thrilled with the outcome. I plan on opening an office in Ocean County in the next 6 -12 months to service the members with shore homes. Glenn always strives for customer satisfaction. On our latest project, when some wall preparation & my extra requests required more work than expected, Glenn volunteered to work on Saturday to complete the prep/painting job so that we could keep our carpeting installation appointment on Monday.
We found it very helpful that Glenn suggested minor additional tasks that made sense to do concurrently. We accepted most of Glenn?s suggestions; however, he never required us to accept any of them. Glenn also repaired mistakes made by previous craftsmen. His prices were very fair. His work ethic was exemplary. He was extremely prompt for reporting to work. His time estimates were very accurate. He provided expert advice on other projects that we are considering. For these reasons, we plan to hire the Happy Handyman Service again many times in the future and will continue to recommend him to family & friends.

As I stated in our initial meeting, It Might be a good idea to show the water damage to your Home Owners Insurance Company, You called me to your home to repair water damaged ceilings, I always get concerned with mold issues, Your Ins Co should have a look at the damage before I cover it up.I do not specialize in mold remediation, should that be an issue. We contacted the Happy Handyman back in January, he came out right away to review the scope of work. Throughout his first visit he kept pointing out things that needed to be done in our house rather than focusing on the jobs we needed to get done. We went over all the details with him and he promised us a quote within a week. He did not respond back with the quote so I was concerned since the reviews I read about him did not reflect this. He had water damage in his own house which was causing him delays preparing the quote so we were patient and waited for it because of his high rating on Angie's list. The quote looked good and we wanted to have him work on the items, however scheduling was a nightmare, he gave us the run around for months. The quote was prepared in January and he ended up coming in April. He would call and say he was coming the next day but we both work so we had to schedule the time in advance. Finally he came and was in rough shape while he worked (claimed he had a rough night the night before in Atlantic city). He brought a worker with him who did a good job however he didn't communicate all the items with him, so for example they were supposed to grout our bathroom with beige caulk and ended up doing it in white. They were supposed to paint our railings and never did. He said it was one days worth of work but he showed up late and then said he had to leave at 5 with items unfinished. We couldn't leave our house mid way with the work since we have young children. Long story short he came the next day and just finished some of the work and we asked him to forgot the other items. It has taken me long to write this review because he was very concerned that we would write a bad review and he kept repeating that to us so I hesitated to write this , however I have reconsidered because I don't want others to experience what we did. The work that was done correctly was done with good workmanship, however the delays and miscommunication dealing with him were not worth it in the end.
"Dear Member, My company is located in New Jersey, I do not service No Carolina. I have read the review that you posted on my company, at first, I thought that you were reviewing the wrong company. After reading your comments, I remembered doing your projects. Did your Husband tell you that he had added 6 additional items to the list during the day? I think not. I worked at your home on a Friday for the entire day, your Husband was thrilled with the work that was done, in fact, tipped my helper and I. Even though my business is closed on weekends, I offered to come back on Saturday morning to complete the remaining projects, I did this because I felt bad for your husband getting screamed at because I did not complete all projects (including the 6 additional) The goal of my company is to make each member thrilled with my services, I am sorry that I was only able to please him. When I perform an estimate, I point out everything that I find needs fixing as a professional courtesy, I am not desperate for work. I felt from the very moment that we met, that it was going to be impossible to please you, you could have taken it out on me rather than him for contracting my services.Once again, he had added the additional work that I found during my initial estimate, some were safety issues.The name on this review, does not match the name on our contract. He also go back to me with idea about some future projects in a timely manner. Part of the job involved having to go to a store to pick up some hardware, which was time for which I was not charged, and his assistant stayed behind to keep working while Glenn went to get the right equipment. Also, they made sure to clean everything up before they left.
The only drawback in the process, and this is not a deterrent... I would definitely use him again... is that it's hard to pin down a time for an appointment, because he is quite honestly that busy. Once we had a time set, though, it went well.

My experience from talking to the Members, is that they are fearful of making a mistake and hiring a service that does not meet their expectations, even after they paid that person Good Money. I always ask the member when I have completed their project, if they are thrilled with the outcome. 2nd Appointment - Following Monday: (first yellow flag - Sunday no confirmation call).
Monday 8:40am - I left a message to verify my appointment.
9:20am - Happy H's Office calls back - they had another "mix up". I told them I'd find someone else to do the work. Even at half price (he offered 9:45am) - I can't be bothered with a business that is so disorganized and doesn't know how to communicate.
Total waste of my day off!
I own a service business - lack of communication will cripple the best of businesses!
"Dear Member, I have read your review on my company, and would like to tell my side of the story. app#1 you called my house and spoke to my wife Liz, she told you that I had a waiting list of more than 20 people, you decided that you wanted to be added to this list. I happened to be doing a project just a couple of block from your home and thought that it is a small job, let me go have a look at it, The evening before i was to arrive, My wife place a call to your home to confirm our appointment, no one answered and no machine picked up. I happened to finish that project a day earlier than i expected and was out of your area.I take my business very seriously and missing appointments is something that can put you out of business. Life started to do it's thing, my wife, who tries her best to help me out, is permanently disabled.she fell and tore her rotator cuff, I get a call that surgery was scheduled for my back, I say this to point out that things happen. You help people with massages, I am sure that you came across similar situations. You called my business disorganized, yet after reading all my reviews you still wanted me to do your work at your home. A company is not disorganized when most of the members rave about it's recent service to them. You called my house 30-45 mins after our scheduled appt. The first words out of my mouth when i heard you talking to my wife was, (Oh My God ) 30 mins later, you and i were looking at your project. After meeting with you, I promised you that I would do your project the following Monday. On Tuesday, they called me in for my back surgery at Overlook Hospital, I was released on late Saturday. I was on pain meds and bedrest. The following Monday, I was to start your project between 830-9am, at 945 my wife received a call from you asking where i was. She explained what I went through and you told her to forget it, I will get someone else. I overheard this, and crawled out of bed to call you. When I called, I had an answering machine pick up. I humbly appoligised for not being on time and said that I could have a team at your home by 11am and be done by 2pm, on top of that i offered to cut the bill in half -150-200 savings if you would give me a chance, you never even returned my call. Most Contractors would not have tried to make the mistakes right. My Company is organized and takes a lot of pride in keeping my customers completely satisfied. I did not WIN the prestigious Angie's List Super Service Award 4 years in a row by making many mistakes, I am a human being and not perfect, when i am wrong, I will admit it and try to make it right. I am very sorry that this happened to you, I wish you much success with your massage business. I hope that you were thrilled with the results from the contractor that did your work..Glenn"
As work progressed, new paint in the bathroom made the bedroom walls really look drab. I asked Glenn if he could paint the bedroom for us sometime soon. He worked us into his schedule so that the bedroom was painted by the time that the bathroom was finished. We did not change the tile in the shower stall because they were in good condition. However, after the regrouting was done, the workman asked for cleaning material and cleaned the tiles in the shower. That was not part of the job description.
The shower tiles were gleaming and complemented the other work being done.
Glenn was not on site when the job was complketed but he called the next morning to check on the completion and to determine if we were satisfied. There were a couple of small items that needed to be addressed and that was done in a timely manner.
We are extremely pleased with the results. It is now a pleasure to use this bathroom. The bedroom looks great. We really feel that these rooms are reflective of 21st century decor.
The Happy Handyman Service has done made jobs for us beginning in 2008 when Glenn remodeled the laundry room and removed panelling, painted, and replaced a closet door in a bedroom. Although the job is now almost 4 months old, it still feels great to be in such a beautiful space. We are now planning to have The Happyhandyman remodel the main bathroom upstairs. We have already met with Glenn and to discuss the scope and design of the work which will be an extensive gut job.

Happy Handyman has helped me with window replacements (including finding a good match to an out of production window), large sheetrock and plaster wall and ceiling repairs, door replacements, storm door installation, grout, caulking, lock installation, toilet repair, and powerwashing. He and his team also rebuilt a decaying porch from scratch and it looks and works great.
Overall Glenn is a good person and Happy Handyman are true professionals. A+ Highly recommended!
