They were solid, professional, efficient, punctual, and everything else you could ask for from a professional decking company. From the start the owner was a breeze to work with, providing a very direct and hassle-free quote, and was clearly able to work with us to make sure we were happy with the plan for the project - from the overall idea for the deck to the details of styling. He came over immediately, and even after considering a couple other companies, we decided to go with Deck Guardian because of how easy it was to come to a reasonable price and how quickly Deck Guardian could both start AND PLAN TO FINISH our project.

Their workers arrived 30 mins early on the day the project started, and got to work immediately - wasting little time. They worked through rain, +30-50 mph wind gusts, and just never stopped! They were driven, professional, and incredibly meticulous with our project as it showed they were caring for our deck as if they were building their own. They wasted no material in the entire process, and were always willing to answer questions and ensure we were kept aware of adjustments to the plan (all for the better). I am only disappointed with the fact that I have 1 x deck, because I would love to rehire these guys again - my solace will be to recommend them to our friends and other people in the area.

Do yourselves a favor and at least give them a call for an estimate - you'll be pleasantly surprised how they don't just treat you like just another project but an extended member of their company.

The guys were amazing. Awesome attitude, hard working. The entire process was smooth, they kept in touch in every step. They accommodated my request to change in design the last moment and didn't show any panic when I said my recommendation might be against city codes. We just had to figure out what that was and whatever the guys were doing exceeded the city codes.


We had been quoted exorbitant prices just for living in Marlboro. Deck Guardian gave the most reasonable quote and the results were amazing. Truly happy. Now I can get to enjoy my deck. Thanks so much guys.

The salesman came out a couple of evenings to accomodate my work schedule. We asked for and checked out the references. The work started within a couple of days of signing of the contract. They powerwashed the deck for 3 hours on the first day. Couple of days later they came back to replace the cracked boards. It was followed up with sanding and painting (multiple coats) of the deck surface, the steps and railings. They did a bit more than what was stated in the contract without changing the price. The paint dried fairly fast. They came back the following day for a final inspection and collecting the final payment. The whole job was done in a week. They taped the side of the house during the work and left everything clean. Our ten year old deck looks like new.
This is a higher end professional unit. One of the few companies where phones are answered by a live person. Appointments are confirmed by e-mails and texts. Every contract is assigned a coordinator who calls and follows up. They offered a 10 year warranty for re-surfacing. But they are not cheap.

Appointment to estimate resurfacing my deck was set up a week in advance.

Received several email and text confirming appointment, as recent as 60 minutes before scheduled start time.

35 minutes before appointment received text and email that appointment was cancelled.  No reason, no call.

When I called number provided, person who answered did not know why it was cancelled.
