The design of my deck was very complicated - elevated with a complex design. I interviewed several deck companies but didn't feel comfortable with any of them..they didn't like the design and even made their own suggestions to simplify it! These companies seemed to want to do a predictable simple design. DG was recommended to me by a friend, who highly recommended them. I looked at their workmanship and was Impressed. John showed up on time, looked at the design, the next day he send me an estimate. I hired them and John scheduled a start day. Considering the size, material (Trex) and complexity of the project, I felt the cost was reasonable. The construction team showed up on time and worked long hours every day for 10 days to complete the project. I was very impressed with their work ethics, professionalism and obvious top quality experience. They really exceeded my expectations! I will recommend them to all my friends and family.

Deck Guardians was really responsive and professional even before the work began. We got four price quotes before choosing a deck builder because ours was a large deck, lots of materials and labor. Deck Guardians was the most reasonable and was transparent about the cost of materials -vs- labor.
There were a lot of "moving pieces" with my job because we had a pool install, hardscaping, electrical and plumbing. Deck Guardians worked well with our other contractors to make sure they were not interfering with each other's work.
The crew that did the work were real craftsmen with a great eye for detail. They communicated with me every day regarding the status of the project and didn't hesitate to ask me about how I wanted certain details. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the way the deck looked.
I'm very pleased with how the project turned out. I'm confident that Deck Guardians will honor their warranty should that ever come up. I heartily recommend them for any new or resurfacing deck project!

It never came.
Went on a business trip and came back, still nothing. No voice mail, no email, nothing.
Sent the company an email thru their contact form, now 3 weeks after the estimate. Waited 3 business days. Nothing.
Called them and spoke to a girl who transferred me to Gordon. Gordon seemed "surprised" I didn't receive my quote. Told me that "it was ready and just needed to be emailed". When I told him I need it by tomorrow so I could make my decision, he said "ohh it will be in your inbox tonight!".
Nothing came.
Either this company is terrible or they are very busy.
If you are terrible, good luck.
If you are busy then by all means don't lie to the people who took the time to call you and spend an hour with the estimator. Tell me you are booked up and can't help me. Tell me you know someone else and refer me and take a commission. Tell me you will contact me in October when you are not busy. Who is running the show over there?
Deck Guardian was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. They provided ideas to redesign the layout of the original deck. They were prompt in their responses when I had questions and they started my job within a week of when I was promised. They had advised me of the delay which was due to an entire week of rain. They just completed my 32? X 14? second floor deck in 2 ½ days. I expected it was going to take 4-5 days. They tore down the existing wood structure, redesigned a section that included the steps, and replaced it with Trex. They communicated with me along the way and when it was noticed that the supporting beam would stick out beyond the new deck, they brought it to my attention, and worked with me to find a solution to incorporate the beam so it would not protrude, even though it required additional work and materials. The group of men assigned to my job were perfectionists. They were prompt, professional, hard-working, highly skilled, and took pride in their work, going above and beyond expectations to assure that the end result was exactly as it should be, and that I was happy with it. They were a pleasure to work with. I am extremely happy with my new deck. It is just beautiful. I highly recommend Deck Guardian.
The project started within the time line that Jon said it would. The crew was on time, worked hard and did a fabulous job. They
were very neat and organized and left their work areas spotless when they left. They even offered really great advice about which color material to use for one part of the project, and I really appreciated their expertise. We would recommend Deck Guardian.
