I can't say enough positive things about "The Store From River Road." I decided to redo some rooms in my home. When I walked into The Store From River Road my first impression was how charming. I was greeted by very friendly designers and knew this place was exactly what I needed. I was so impressed by the quality of their furniture and liked that I could choose my own fabrics for window treatments, furniture, etc. with personal attention. I started working with Patrice one of the designers from The Store. Patrice was a delight right from the start. She spent a lot of time helping me redecorate. I as so impressed with her eye for color, her ability to stage the room while staying true to what I was trying to achieve. Patrice was so patient and compassionate on my crazy and indecisive days. But most of all, we had fun! Oh and how beautiful everything turned out! Even some of the rooms we just "tweaked" look like brand new rooms! I am thrilled beyond words of the outstanding job Patrice did. One of the other things I loved about The Store was that I didn't have to worry about ordering on the internet and possibly getting things damaged or not the right color, etc. and having to figure out how to return large pieces. This brings me to Reggie who takes care of deliveries. Reggie is so nice and takes special care in making sure everything is delivered on time and not damaged. If anything is not right, Reggie will take care of it right away! To everyone at The Store, you've been friendly, professional and welcoming each and every time. It's been a pleasure and Thank you! Needless to say, I highly recommend The Store From River Road.

After the delivery men brought the hutch into my kitchen and set it up, (My parents) who accepted delivery, asked the men if they could attach it to the wall & also attach the top to the bottom to make it safe. They were told they do not do that & the main delivery man said "i see you have small children" & proceeded to show my parents where brackets should and could be placed. I have no issue with them not wanting to attach to the wall - however, the top should have been attached to the base before they left. It was very unsafe for them to leave without doing so. It is a very large hutch with a wood/glass door top, which when you opened the doors you had to support the top with your hand to make sure it didn't tip over. I called the owner the next day and she told me (main delivery man) attaches the brackets all the time, so it must have been the smaller man that said they wouldn't attach it. It was actually the main delivery man that said no. Owner said (main delivery man) will call soon & come back to put the brackets on attaching top to bottom. She did not say when this would happen & I explained I have two little kids that run around & it was very unsafe to leave it like this. She said to put something in front of it in the mean time. I explained that really wasn't feasible, as it is in my kitchen & I really didn't have anything to block a whole hutch. I waited six days & no word from owner or delivery man as to when situation would be fixed, so I made arrangements for a handy man to come attach the brackets. Once the handyman saw the hutch he said " they left it like this?" He also advised me they should have removed two strips of board from the back, that were visible and very unsightly from the side views (which I thought so too, but failed to mention this to owner in the original call, because I was more upset with the safety issue at the time.) Handyman proceeded to handle the situation & attached the brackets and removed the boards. I paid him $50. Late the next day (main delivery man) called to say he could set up a time to come attach the brackets. I told him I had it taken care of the previous day. Six days later, owner called me to remind me that I still owed $174, ( turns out main delivery man told me the wrong balance, so I had a check waiting for him in the wrong amount.) This hutch cost over $1600, and owner told me that I got a very good price on it. (as if that made it ok to leave it in my house in an unsafe manner.). (I went in during their 40% off sale) I proceeded to tell her that I would be taking $50 off what I owed because I had to get someone else to fix it. Instead of saying ok - I understand waiting a week to set up a time to come fix the unsafe situation they left me with - she told me she would be taking me to small claims court!....how's that for customer service?! in my opinion, if you go to this store (which does have very nice & very expensive things) only go during their 40% off sale if you don't mind people treating you like you are poor & don't really belong in there... To be honest I was shocked at the way the owner acted, because she was not in the least bit concerned that her people left a hutch in a very unsafe manner. I have gotten some very expensive furniture in the past from different places, and no one has ever left something that was not safe. I would never go back to that store & hope owner reads this comment & maybe changes her high & mighty attitude...you are selling furniture - you are not a doctor!!
Description of Work: I bought a kitchen hutch from this store and received terrible customer service from the owner after delivery.
